Well it finally happened. After years of having the medical travel ins on my credit card I finally had to use it.
Headed to Disney on Dec 5 prior to my Fantasy cruise on Dec 8. Was at the tail-end of a cold and did my ears not start giving me extreme pain and close up to the point of about 80% deafness?? oh joy
Once we checked in I did some looking online and realized I was going to need some antibiotics if I wanted to cure this quickly. So off I went to Centra Urgent Care. (service was great btw. they shuttled me to and from the office)
I knew I had the INS but really had no idea how it was really going to work. Once I filled out my paperwork they gave me access to a phone to call the toll free number. 10minutes later they had faxed all the info the clinic needed so I didn't need to pay anything. ($308 just to walk in the door, once my INS was confirmed they stopped telling me costs so I have no idea what my bill actually was)
The ins asked me to call them once I had been diagnosed. So i gave them a call when I returned that evening. No waiting and very nice. She noted when I would be back in Canada and gave me all the info I would need if for some reason I needed to see a Dr while on the cruise.
Came home to find an email with the insurance forms pre-filled out. Just needed to provide a bit of info, sign and the documentation from the clinic and done.
I know I always wonder how the different insurance companies work so just wanted to put out the good experience I had with mine.
