Today was the big breakfast day with Isabellas idol- Cinderella. Thanks to this board, I had the heads up on how popular Cindys breakfast reservations are to acquire. I think we lucked out because I called the day after Christmas. Since the ressies were at 9:15 I was hoping we could get in a little early for some unobstructed pictures of the castle, but no such luck. We had to wait until the general gate opening. I think its very cute how they appoint a family to open the Magic Kingdom for the day. Ill have to remember that for future trips and get the low down on it. As soon as the gates opened, we headed for the castle. I think Isabella was a bit overwhelmed by the scene. It seemed as if she didnt know where to look, theres so much to take in! I was getting choked up just watching her. (Okay, bear in mind that I am pregnant and hormonally speaking, I would probably cry over cleanser commercials, but there was just something about that feeling of bringing our first child to such a special place). We checked in at the castle just as Mickey and gang was opening Fantasyland, and again Isabella realized she was someplace very cool. We popped into the restroom to change her into her Cinderella dress from Halloween. I sewed this puppy by hand so I was determined to get some use out of it and some great pictures. I fully admit the dress was strictly for the benefit of DH and myself to ooh and aahh over. As we walked into the dining room, Isabella spotted her icon and just whispered ever so quietly- Rella!! Jasmine came up to us first and Isabella looked at her and said No, Rella. She actually dismissed her! She was determined to see the main princess in her opinion and no one would do until then. Cinderella very graciously spent lots of time with her and took several pictures. After seeing Cinderella, Her Majesty then allowed the other princesses and Prince Charming to pay their respects. Since we were celebrating Isabellas 2nd birthday, they brought out the birthday muffin and all the princesses signed a card for her. I thought breakfast was tasty- I liked the french toast and potatoes. We didnt bother having pancakes brought for Isabella since she mostly picked at the watermelon from the fresh fruit bowl. Our server was very attentive and didnt mind relighting Isabellas birthday candle for the several encores she requested. After breakfast it was off with the dress, and off to Fantasyland. After the Merry Go Round, we headed for Snow Whites ride. Ive heard this is somewhat scary for little ones, and I remember several appearances of the witch so we werent sure what to expect. Isabella LOVED the ride. What I didnt expect was for her to be traumatized over having to LEAVE the ride. People must have thought I dragged this poor child onto something terrifying the way she carried on getting OFF the ride. She didnt quite grasp the concept that we can get right back in line. I think we ended up riding Snow White 3 times in a row that day (and another 3 or 4 times in a row another day). Thank goodness for fastpass or we probably never would have ridden Peter Pan. That ride is always at least 45 min. Fastpass is a godsend for people with toddlers. Isabellas favorite part of Small World was the purple hippo, go figure, and her new word in conjunction with Haunted Mansion is spooky! I found a great ornament in the Christmas shop in Libertyville with the Mickey ears emblem with an American Flag and a quote from Walt on the back. After Country Bear Jamboree, which she danced throughout, Isabella was cashed and just staring vacantly ahead so we headed back for a nap. That evening we walked to Epcot via the back Friendship bridge. I never realized just how close Boardwalk is to Epcot. We picked up a fastpass for DH for TestTrack and settled down just in time for the 6:30 parade and Nachos. After the Butterfly parade as she called it, we headed to Norway for Malestrom and the little Viking was ready to Do Boat Again. Isabella and I hung out at the exit of Test Track to wait for Daddy and she fell asleep. With sleeping stroller baby we decided to have a nice dessert to ourselves over in France. Beware, pregnant women going through pastry line. Keep your hands and feet away from her mouth!! After a leisurely dessert (okay, I scarfed the dessert but then I sat leisurely) we headed to the bridge for Illuminations. Isabella woke up just in time for the fireworks. Fireworks became the highlight of her trip and shes still talking about them. We called it a night right after Illuminations and headed back to the room. Yep, looks like our days of partying at Pleasure Island are LONG GONE! Know what, we wouldnt have it any other way
