Throwaway room (read post #2041 or #2710 before posting)

Did you read that other thread?

Apparently right now magic bands attached to a different MDE account, without tickets attached, can be used for same day Fps scheduled in the park at the kiosks.

That could change tomorrow though or I would have scheduled a trip already just to take advantage of it myself.

I haven't read it yet. It's a long one. I will though. Sorry if my questions are annoying! :) I won't ask anymore. I was just curious as to how it applies to throwaway rooms.

Also, this sounds like the deal last year where people figured out that they could use old KTTW cards to get paper FP during the FP+ test. We had several trips last year and we heard about it after one trip, so the next trip we brought a lot of our old cards. We tested it out and it worked, but we never found that we needed additional paper FP. But they cut it off suddenly one weekend.

But again, I need to read that thread, so no more from me until I do! :)

I too am confused... How does she know then that she got 12 7DMT FPs if she can't book them until day-of? Did she just get FPs on multiple days or working off the assumption that she'll be able to schedule them? I think I'm confusing myself lol!!

That's what I thought. So unless SnowWhite above has two sets of tickets, this isn't going to work for her, right? (Not trying to say you're wrong, SnowWhite. Just trying to understand how this works.)

Oy! If SnowWhite is me *wrong user name V P
Unlinked MBs *MBs not linked to a ticket* work for SDFP - for how long, no one knows.
I have four ghost guests "spending" one night at a camp site, DD and I are spending nine nights at AOA, we already have the four unlinked MBs for the camp site night, we will use those to obtain a bonus six each SDFP (:
It's not rocket science friends.
No assuming - will I get SDFP for SDMT, A&E meet, TSMM, Soarin', Test Track - highly unlikely, all the other rides - no problem.

SnowBELLEAlice, sorry! :(

And not obtaining SDFP for the highly coveted rides/meets is quite alright, already have them associated with our linked MBs from our room/ticket package ~ nine nights at AOA LM room :dance3:

Ahhh got it!! I read SDFP as Seven Dwarfs rather than Same Day (??). Thanks for the clarification.

Here's another perspective to throw in the mix.

Our family did our first Disney trip in August. We stayed offsite at an awesome condo, but we also booked a throwaway campsite because of the onsite perks and cost savings over parking, MBs, etc.

BUT, while booking the camp this last year, it piqued our interest in Fort Wilderness. So, we decided to visit and attend the campfire sing-along. While we never actually stepped foot on our actual campsite (it wasn't even the same day we had booked it), we absolutely LOVED Fort Wilderness.

So, for August 2015, we've already booked our next trip. And this time, we're staying at the Fort for real.

Disney got us. We caught the bug.

From the look at the wait times I don't know how much value you will get from 90% of those SDFPs.

But I will give you a :thumbsup2 for working the system.

My kids are too young to go full bore like that.

The Fort is FAB! We've had some amazing trips there. We've stayed in all levels of resorts, and my DH has said we go deluxe or we go to Fort Wilderness. August is hot, though. Are you tent camping or taking a camper?

Just scored ADRs for Hoop Dee Doo Revue at 6:15 on Nov 14th.

Our group of 9 booked Mickey's Back Yard BBQ on a different night at the 180 day window instead of HDDR.

I was looking for a dinner close to MK on the 14th just for my family after we left the park. HDDR popped up and I grabbed it.

I'll let wifey decide if we actually attend or cancel closer to the date.

But - just another example of where a throwaway reservation benefits.

I ended up booking two nights at FW. I originally was just going to do a throw away site for one night (for the 5 magic bands, earlier FP booking, BOG FP, parking etc) but decided to book two nights. Why? We are staying off site in a vacation home with my parents (our main purpose for visiting is to see them). We are spending one full day in MK and going to the MNSSHP the next night (without my parents). I decided to book two nights so we could enjoy the campground the second day and use the pool before we go to the party. For the convenience and perks it was worth it to me but I'm also really excited about at least spending the day there; my kids love camping but with flying in we won't be equipped to actually spend the night but it sounds like such a cool place I wanted to at least spend the day there.

We're renting an RV through Greenberg :)

Someone at work just told me this week that they are paying for a tent campsite for one week in order for a 9th person to get a MB, A 2 BR BCV only sleeps 8 and they plan to have one person sleeping on the floor. I told the person it will be plenty crowded with 9 people and 2 baths. As it was someone I work with, I was not about to get into a debate.

Unless it has changed, we were able to put 9 people in a 2 Bdr at BCV. They will not provide the bedding for a 9th person, but you can add them to the reservation. It was tight, but manageable with kids.
