Through Fresh Eyes...One Week Left 5/1

Sounds about what my plans for the day are. My only request is a FP+ reservation for the Wishes fireworks, a spin on the peoplemover, and a dole whip float.

Sounds like some pretty nice plans! Maybe I'll shoot for the dessert party that night? But then-it will probably be crowded?

I'm probably going to stick to the high five plan and just relax and let the magic day unfold naturally.

I love those bathrooms ... I love the whole place, but I think the shower/bathtub is my favorite. I think OMG is really the only thing you can say. It's so amazing.

Right? I mean, I've only seen the pictures they advertise the room with, and I'm like....I want to book this room just so I can have a mommy-gets-to-pretend-she's-a-mermaid-princess shower!

Don't judge.

No judgement here ... I am with you.

We spent an hour last year taking pictures of everything around the hotel ... and then I spent another 15 minutes on our last night taking pictures of the room ... including the shower/bathroom area! I want to just take the shower home with me! (You can buy the really cute Ariel shower curtain in the store ... but it wouldn't fly in my house)

Girl, I could haven sworn that I not only subscribed to your PTR but that I also posted....nope, did neither! This old age thing is clearly playing tricks on me!

Adorable family and lovin the plans so far!

Ha! I honestly wonder if I can fax in a room request with a "magical view of the snarfblat, please!" Our bathrooms are whimsical, because we're content to not particularly formally grow up around here. Our bathroom is decorated with the TARDIS, my toothbrush is a sonic screwdriver. (Doctor Who, anyone?)

Awww, well hello, you! I feel so special that I have a few readers already, and ones I recognize from some of my favorite TRs! Thank you! :D

And *sings you a song of the 7 Dwarfs'* "You're never to old to be young!"

(Song here, if you'd like to listen. )

Ok, I am caught up, joining in, subscribing, and STILL laughing out loud at Squeaks' reasons for choosing Sleeping Beauty as her favourite. I'm right there with you, Squeaks, I like sleeping too. :rotfl:

Aww, thanks for reading, fellow Disney gif buddy! Squeaks is a hoot and a half. I'm sure we'll have a few more conversations to share during planning time.

In fact! Here, have another!

Squeaks: "Mommy, can we go to Disney World?"
Me: "You mean like right now?"
Squeaks: "Uhm, can we go to Disney World on this day?"
Me: "Sorry buddy, that won't really work."
Squeaks: "Why?"
Me: "Well, Mommy and Daddy have to save up A LOT of money first."
Squeaks: "But please?"
Me: "Don't worry buddy. We'll go, it'll just be a long time because Mommy and Daddy need to have enough money to buy you things when we go. We will go, I promise. You know that, right?"
Squeaks: "Yeah. And on one of the days, I will get a surprise?" (A surprise is a toy or treat she picks out at a store.)
Me: "Yeah buddy....how are you so sure we're going for more than one day?"
Squeaks: "Uhm, when we go, it will be for twenty-four days."

And here I thought I was going to get to surprise her when she went to sleep on the first day by telling her that when she woke up, we'd be going again! Oh well. I still intend to not tell her when it's coming up, just wake her up on the big day and GO!

:rotfl2::rotfl: A 24 day trip. My is she an optimistic one! :lmao:

Omg that's hilarious. 24 days. Not 25, not 23. :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao:

Just touching base with readers who may have wondered why dress photos haven't been forthcoming yet; I had to take an annually scheduled break for costume making!

No, not a Disney character. There is a short & sweet Disney story though! She was watching old Mega Man cartoons from the 1990s on YouTube, and they were made with the assistance of a Japanese touring promotion group, so there were many mentions of Japan being awesome. (MegaMan is made by Capcom, a Japanese company, though he is technically a robot from outer space.)

Anyway, Squeaks had been asking me about Japan, so I told her a little. Then I told her about how, at Epcot, part of it was decorated to look just like parts of Japan, and she goes

"...wait, Japan is REALLY REAL?!"

She is now very excited for Epcot Day.

:thumbsup2 Ah the wonders of Epcot! Sneaking in education when they least expect it.

japan is really real? that's so cute! isn't it amazing when they start to figure that kind of thing out?

I need to get on the costume making in a major way! the girls want to be rainbow dash from my little ponies and a peacock. of course, I picked out complicated pictures to show them and now am trying to talk then into simpler versions.....we'll see how that goes!

This is it! A moment I've been promising for....two weeks? Three?

A DRESS! IT'S TIME FOR A DRESS!

Are you ready? Are you pumped?

Okay, I feel like I'm giving this too much lead up, since it still needs a few finishing touches. For example, it's missing a bottom ruffle because I needed more of the fabric with the flowers. Alas, this is our Akershus dress, and the image is used with permission from the artist on the condition that it s for personal use:

Okay okay: how'd I do?! I thought it would be a fun dress for character interactions at the Akershus breakfast, or when visiting the princesses during the Around the World walk we do one day!

I am so excited that Brianna Garcia gave me her blessing to make this. (That's her art, and she works for Disney now.) Next up, I believe there's a Disney licensed Princess Aurora pattern in my mailbox this very minute...

oh, that's so fun!! I bet you'll get some funny pictures with that! I like the flower fabric too--very cute!

I love that dress!
It's so much more fun than a "traditional" princess dress, and will be great for meeting princesses!

very cute!
Aww, shucks. Thanks!

I'm hoping that's what the dress will do; help break the ice for Squeaks and also get us some funny pictures of memories. :D

I thought it would be great for meeting a group of princesses! Though we're totally taking some traditional dresses, too. :)

Thank you all so much, you sweeties!
