Thrifty car rental.. NO Problems!

We just got back from a trip to Florida using Thrifty car rental. If there was any complaint, It would be the "long" wait for the bus back to the airport. It was actually only about 5-10 minutes, no big deal.
I had went online and signed up for BlueChip a couple days before the trip.
I wrote down my Number.
Once we got to the airport, with in 3 minutes of going outside the Thrifty bus was parked and off we went. A short 5 minute ride to Thrifty site and then to the BlueChip lane. Only 1 person in front of us. The "other line" had more. I gave the person our reservation printout and our BlueChip number. With In a few minutes we were outside to find our car. I went compact and It was a Nissan Sentra. We had the car for 4 days and the rental was $71. (no insurance)
When we went to return the car, I went the same way the bus driver did. It was wrong. It was only a bus entrance, so I had to back track to Senomera Blvd. (whatever it's called) and get to the right entrance. When we parked, I turned the key on so they could "read" the fuel gauge. Some lady walked around the car, then a man printed our receipt. No problems.
I'd rent from them again.
Just thought I'd let people know how our rental with Thrifty went. I know before our trip I had herd good and bad things about them. Good luck.

Thanks for the report, I am considering Thrifty for our trip in October they are $70 cheaper and we are renting three midsize cars. So we would be saving over $200. I have always used National with EI so I was pleased with your review that it was not that much of a hassle to use Thrifty. My only reason for not booking with Thrifty yet is we need to list an additional driver on each vehichle and I think Thrifty charges $5 per person per day, we have a 8 day rental which only brings my savings to $30 per car. I am not sure the $30 dollars saved is worth going offsite.

I don't know If 30 bucks would be worth it? I say this because of the extra time it takes when you go off site. I'm not sure what Thrify does for BlueChip members? They may allow an extra driver. You can proabably call them and find out. Let them know your plan to stay on site if it's only a $30 savings, and they may give you the additional driver for free?

Thanks for the report! We're going to use Thrifty for our November/December rental and it's good to hear that you didn't have any problems with them. We've also signed up for BlueChip so now all we have to do is wait for November to get here!

DH & I used them many years ago and had no problems either.. Good to hear they're not a problem now..

We are using Thrifty in November also. They had a great deal. I was a little concerned about them being off-site. We will have plenty of time the day we get there, but not a lot of time the morning we leave.

What is the BlueChip? I'll have to check that out.

I forgot, I have a dumb question. W/ it being off-site and taking the shuttle, what do you do w/ your luggage on the shuttle?

No problem! They have plenty of room for luggage on the shuttle..

The shuttle is a bus, so both you and your bags ride together. I've never waited for a Thrifty bus at the airport; they're always either there waiting or just pulling up. I HATE shuttles, but I have to admit that Hertz and Thrifty, both of which are offsite, are both painless.
