Ok, so I'm taking my son on a very short trip to WDW in just 3 weeks. My husband will be joining us for the last 2 nights of our 3-night stay.

We have a room booked at Pop. I've always wanted to try Pop. It sounds so cool. I couldn't get an AP rate applied for it, but that's okay.

Then I get on the Passholders website today and check my dates and find that I CAN book a room at CBR for just about $100 more for our trip.

Now, transporation isn't an issue as we'll have a car and will drive to the 2 parks we plan to visit (EPCOT and HS). I guess what I'm wondering is as far as the overall resort goes, anyone who has been to both resorts which one would you chose for a return trip.

My heart tells me stay with Pop. I've booked it at least twice on past trips only to end up moving to another resort before the trip. We spend very little time at the resort, so it probably really won't matter either way.

Just looking for opinions out there!

I like CBR much better than POP. It feels more relaxing, and I really like the tropical theme.

IMO the mods are MUCH nicer than the values. If I were you I'd switch.

I have never stayed at POP, but have stayed at CBR numerous times. While I agree with PP that the theming is pretty nice, depending on where your room is located, you could be in for a very long walk to the main area. Not positive, but I believe POP's layout is a little better.

We really enjoyed Pop. During our stay there we visited CBR and we so glad we weren't staying there - it is HUGE. Bearing in mind you will have your son with you, you could be in for a very long walk just to fill up your mug or grab a muffin. For 3 days I would stay with Pop.

With little time in the room as you say,

I'd stick with Pop.

Lots easier to get around Pop than CBR with its separate checkin/food court and spread out room builidngs...

herc.

Keep in mind that the CBR main pool is closed for constuction! I think you should stay with Pop! Your son will love it!

I haven't done a value in about 11 years since a stay at All-Star Music but I'm really not that picky. If the upgrade would have earned us bigger beds, I'd probably consider it too. However, I think for 2 nights my DH and I will be okay with sleeping in a double bed.

The pool at CBR also wasn't an issue, since I doubt we'll have time for it. I plan to run my 8-year-old ragged at EPCOT and Studios! I am also not sure we'll spend any real time at the resort except for maybe our first evening and breakfast in the morning. I keep reading about the crowded food court and I'm a bit scared, but I think we can manage that.

Pop it is!

My vote would be for the POP. We didn't really like CBR very much. But when we stayed there a few years back, they were doing alot of remodeling and the pool at our building was closed so we had to walk a fair distance to another. Also, thought it was a long walk to the busses, food court, lobby, etc. Of course, POP isn't exactly small, we did alot of walking there too. POP is newer than CBR, and we kind of liked the newness also.

CBR's main pool is closed right now. I'd stick with Pop for this trip.

the quiet pools will be open, but for the extra money you won't get the water slide or hot tub at CBR this time around.

You'll get an extra sink, more square footage, probably more walking, a TS reastaurant, and a coffee maker in your room.
