Three Things...Gratitude Thread

The gusset in all of my exercise pants and shorts - It's wild that this was the first thing that came to mind, but I guess it makes sense since I've started testing out my race gear. That little triangular piece of fabric allows for greater comfort and stretch in these sorts of clothes.

Palette Knife - While you typically think of this triangular tool with painting, they are also a really cool way to use frosting to "paint" a cake. I also find it less fatiguing with my hands compared to piping.

Play button - From my old cassette players and CD players to the music apps through Apple, Android, Amazon, Spotify, etc. that button to make the music start is universally a triangle. I guess it's also the case with tv remotes as well.

First thing I thought it was tortilla chips and I love those things I’m currently on a lime tortilla chip kick can’t get enough of them

Grilled cheese must be in triangles otherwise it doesn’t taste right🤣🤣

Sorry but most of our pizza comes in squares around here thin crispy pizza cut in squares
But if you get other pizza that isn’t thin and crispy then it’s in triangles

But my third choice I think of cheese 🧀

And then I would go with cake 🍰 I would really like some cake but I’m trying not to eat sweets

Good Wednesday Morning

#1 - TOMATO SOUP - I love a nice hot bowl of tomato soup with grilled cheese. We’ll be having it for dinner, on a Friday night, soon for Lent.

#2 - DH’S CHILI - He makes a great chili, and I enjoy eating it regardless if it’s 15 degrees outside or 90 degrees outside.

#3 - PROGRESSO LIGHT CLAM CHOWDER OR CREAMY CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP - I enjoy both of these very much. I have one can a week for lunch.

Today's Topic (Wed, 2/25) - 3 soups, stews, or other liquid-based foods you're grateful for
1 Homemade chili with both beans and ground beef
2 Tomato bisque paired with a triple grilled cheese sandwich
3 Potluck - I like to wonder into a new cafe during wintertime and see what soups they have

Coke slushy like frozen Cokes OMG I could drink them all the live long days❤️❤️❤️❤️
Really is any kind of frozen drink but I especially love frozen cokes

Chocolate shakes or coffee shakes I try not to get them too often because they could be a really bad habit but they are so enjoyable

French onion soup hard to pass the soup up if I’m in a restaurant that offers it it’s one of my favorite soups

I do love chili but only my own homemade chili I will try your chili though I’m not that picky it’s always interesting trying other people’s chill because everybody has a unique way of making chili

I miss clam chowder! I love both New England and Manhattan but at some point during my pregnancy with DD17, I developed an allergy to bivalves. I can eat all other shellfish. So, no more chowder :(

Lobster or crawfish bisque- about as close as I can get to being able to satisfy NE clam chowder cravings.

Gumbo- Sausage and seafood are usually my faves, but I also recently had duck and that was pretty yummy.

Lentil soup- Some are better than others but I'm a big fan, it's hearty/filling, and very nutritious. Progresso actually makes a decent one.

Is she allergic to them too?

A similar thing happened to me after I had DS, but it was scallops. Apparently he is allergic and it somehow transferred to me. :confused3

But like you, I'm fine with other seafood/shellfish. I can still have shrimp, lobster, etc. It's definitely weird.

Nope. No reactions for her. In fact, they're on the list of things she's growing to enjoy as her tastes expand. In that same vein, I ate quite a few things with tree nuts and peanut butter when I was expecting DD19 and she's deathly allergic to both.

Scallops also fall under the bivalve classification, so maybe we have a similar sensitivity. I've tested them out, just because I love them when they're the big sea scallops wrapped in bacon...and I guess I have a death wish? While I really shouldn't be taking the risk, my reactions are always gastrointestinal (vs. anaphylaxis). Not that I enjoy feeling 🤢and getting violently ill, but it's better than my throat swelling shut. I've had mixed results, but bay scallops make me just as ill as clams. I suspect it's because some bivalves are "cleaner" than others. Thankfully, I have never been a fan of mussels or oysters.

I learned the hard way not to list this as an allergy when dining at WDW. There was that one trip where none of the chefs were willing to take the chance and I was prohibited from ordering things like shrimp and crab.

Evening all,

1. Tomato soup - not a big fan of soup but this is the exception. In fact it's probably the only soup I like!

2. Strawberry milkshake - this is one of my favourite things, only strawberry flavoured though, I can't have anything else. Also worryingly the best strawberry milkshake I've ever had is the one McDonald's do, which I never thought possible! However I obviously haven't tried every one out there

3. Alcoholic slushies - the best way to cool down when it's hot.
