Three Things...Gratitude Thread

I thought of another "square:" Life cereal, both original and cinnamon. We snack on it, and it's the perfect car food, both sweet and crunchy but not too "junky."

Flavor combinations:

Chocolate peppermint
Chocolate raspberry
Chocolate orange
Peanut butter and Fluff

Happy Monday - I hope you all had a good weekend

#1 - DQ BLIZZARDS - I love several types of Blizzards. So Good!

#2 - PEANUT BUTTER & JELLY SANDWICHES - The most perfect portable sandwich ever!

#3 - PIZZA - So many different flavors on a pizza.

Good morning friends :)

I really am such a pain eater that lol I'm not sure this question even applies to me. I do like for a treat a vanilla pudding cup with a chocolate chip mini muffin broken up inside.

Dad enjoys pizzas, salads, and other food combinations. I eat individual things like applesauce or a scrambled egg as opposed to together/combined foods.

Chocolate and Coconut - I was in an Almond Joy mood around my bday. I guess I haven't kicked it because I devoured a bag of healthier mounds inspired candies while dealing with our flight issues yesterday.

Pizza and Ranch - OK, this is not so much a grateful for me but I've seen decent ranch help salvage a meal of bad to mediocre pizza and get people eating who otherwise would have stayed hungry. Although, I did get a good laugh when some TX friends went to NYC and were shocked that ranch isn't normally served with it up there...usually a sign of above average NY pizza ;)

Berries and Lemon - I have just returned from the land of huckleberry everything and was shocked that I didn't see more lemon combos. I like seeing the two come together in desserts, drinks, sauces, dressings, and even just a glass of lemonade and a bowl of fresh berries of some sort (my pref- blackberries).

Afternoon everyone!

1. Chocolate orange - another vote for this. I hated this for most of my younger life, but over recent years I've become obsessed with anything this flavour.

2. Ginger + coffee or chocolate - gingerbread lattes are my favourite drink at the moment, all year round. And I discovered the orange & ginger Toblerone last Christmas which is divine.

3. Chocolate & cherry - black forest gateau, another of my favourites 😋 obviously in a chocolate mood today!

My snack of choice: I always keep a big *** jug of cashews from Costco in the fridge. As a kid I used to get hollered at by my parents for picking all the cashews out of the nut mix when we had company. Now I'm an adult and I can have a WHOLE JUG OF CASHEWS to myself!

Same line of thinking that led me to purchase DVC.

I'm grateful for neighbors' and family members' dogs. This little cutie belongs to my in-laws:

I'm grateful when I'm at a party and the hosts' dog wants attention, so I can take a break from trying to keep up with multiple conversations.

I'm grateful for service dogs who help people lead safer and more active lives.

Good Morning

Polly….you and I use the same website for topics 🙂👍🏻

#1 - DOGGY DAYCARE - Mr. Otis loves loves loves doggy daycare and I’m grateful we have a great place available for him to play with his doggy friends and burn off his never ending energy.

#2 - DOG TRAINER - We have an excellent place here for dog training. All my dogs have gone to classes there. I need to sign Otis up for another session.

#3 - OUR DOGS - I’m grateful for all the dogs we’ve had. They’ve given us a lot of joy and a lot of wonderful memories.

I am not coming up with much here as I really don't like dogs. I know I'm going to get a LOT of flack for this, but I want to participate in today's poll anyhow, so here goes:

I am grateful that our good friends, who always have 2 or 3 Goldens, have taken them for training so that they don't jump up on me all the time. I have a friend whose dog hasn't been for any kind of obedience training, and he always jumps up on everyone. This is a full-grown golden retriever.. not a pleasant experience.

Guide dogs, to help folks live everyday lives.

I'm glad our University has a dog-in-office policy, where if someone wants to bring their dog to work all day, others on the floor need to be notified and agree that it's OK. I don't have to worry about this as there is one person on our hall who has major dog allergies so I don't have to be the jerk who says "I don't like the way dogs smell, dogs trigger my asthma, I don't appreciate dogs wandering into my office, the barking and whining is annoying," etc. I appreciate that the University is trying to take everyone into consideration here in the workplace.

Family Dogs (the good ones) - We've had some not so great ones but the incredible ones make up for it. Our current dog is a total sweetheart. She's fairly low energy but is such a clown when excited. She's also ridiculously smart and so obedient.

Cartoon Dogs - Snoopy was the first thing that came to mind but I was also reminded of Sandy from the Annie comic strip, since he'd also come to life in the form of real dogs on both Broadway and movie adaptations.

Police/Military Dogs - The reality is that these animals are well suited for their jobs but don't really understand the risks like their human handlers/partners. So, it's not like they walked in and said "hey, sign me up."

I worked at a kennel and dog training center and I enjoyed tremendously working there it really opened me up to the dog world and then introduced me to Aubrey of dogs I enjoyed so much my time there meeting all kinds of wonderful people and wonderful dogs all different kinds of breeds I got into showing dogs for obedience and I got into Schutzhund which I thoroughly enjoyed doing with one of my dogs
I can’t imagine my life without dogs in it when my last dog passed away I thought I wouldn’t get another dog and it lasted about two weeks I usually last about two weeks and I went and got me another dog and everybody said why would you get another dog because I just can’t imagine my life without a dog in it and again it’s not always rainbows and sunshine my current dog upon occasions he’s gotten very sick and had some bowel problems that were just horrendous and hard to figure out why they were going on I’m not gonna lie it wasn’t pretty and it was daily and it was horrible but didn’t make me not wanna have a dog it did not it just made me really sad because I couldn’t figure out why my poor dog was sick
I have ran dogs to the emergency room more times and I care to talk about I have had dogs have to have emergency surgery then I had to go borrow money to pay for what I do it again yes I would do it again
I spent a lot of my time alone and my dog is my companion and I just can’t imagine not having my dog it makes me so sad that dogs don’t live longer than they do 13 years goes by way too fast
I have been crazy upon occasions and gotten two puppies at once and I said I’ll never do that again and you know what I did it again what was I thinking I don’t know because you forget about all the craziness and you just end up doing it again what I do it again probably is it crazy yes yes it’s crazy potty training two puppies at once not fun training two puppies not fun but there’s so much fun when they get older but then two running around the house like maniacs not fun to puppies chasing cats total bedlam 🤪🤪🤪 but then you look at them and they’re just so sweet and they’re just so adorable and then you forgive all of it
I am very fortunate that I can take my dog to work with me my boss very into dogs he had one of the top dogs in the United States and he loves dogs so it’s never been an issue for me to bring my dog to work with me
I didn’t get to have dogs when I was growing up no pets were allowed in our house and I think that’s one of the reasons why I still enjoy having pets now
I think one of the best parts to me at least was the great fun and enjoyment my children had with the dogs that we had when they were growing up they always included the dogs and all the fun they had and I always thought that was just the greatest thing the world they treated the dogs just like they were one of their friends and included them and everything ❤️
They used to dress the cats up too and that was hilarious 🤣🤣🤣
