Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Welcome CariadMartin to our kind thread and good morning to all.

Clothes. God willing when I am back to normal being able to wear either a regular or long sleeved T under something warmer is such a handy blessing.

Blankets. Even now when my bed is my recliner chair, I typically prefer being covered by both a full size and smaller throw blanket.

Dad enjoys salads and sandwiches with multiple at times toppings/insides. Semi layers! :)

I'm behind...

Numbered things...

1 - DH
1 - Our dog
2 - My girls
2 - Loving parents
2 - Pink socks...I thought one was missing and it turned up in a shirt!
3 - People at home right now.
4 - Tires on my vehicle.
5 - fingers on each hand and toes on each foot.

Small things...

DD18 - I'd put her at 4'11" but every now and then she'll get someone who gives her a little boost and says she's 5'.
Refillable travel containers - DD16 learned to embrace them when she realized you can't carry on full hair product bottles.
Mini Trees - We have one on our bar. It's not much, but it's fun to decorate this little thing and it's far less of a pain than big ones.

Layered things...

Cakes - I'm about to make a belated one for DD16s bday and serve it at Thanksgiving. Still trying to decide if a do traditional layers or a roll cake.
7 Layer Dip - It's a pain to make, but it's always a party favorite.
Clothing - We had one of those weekend where we'd start out in the 40s and end up in the 80s. Clothing layers were a necessity.

Good Tuesday Morning!

I’ve mentioned my family in the past so today I’m going to branch away from that and focus on a few other people……..

#1 - My Priests - I’m very grateful for the priests at my parish. One just celebrated his 40th anniversary of being a priest, and the other is only 27 years old, he calls himself a baby priest - LOL! Both of them are great in their own ways. They both work very hard to keep our large parish thriving, and I’m very grateful for that.

#2 - Our Deacons - We have two deacons at our parish and both of them are very involved and give 100% of themselves to our parish. I’m especially grateful to them because when we decided to come to this parish, they were very welcoming to me and my family. They quickly learned our names and called us by our names., which is very impressive when you have a parish of over 2000 families.

#3 - Multiple Individuals At My Parish - We’ve been going to our parish for a a little over three years now. When we decided to switch parishes after Covid, it was a big decision because we liked the parish that we came from, but it’s not thriving like we would like so we wanted to go to a parish that has more youth, and therefore has a greater future. Multiple people there were so wonderful to us when we came. They took the time to get to know us, learn our names, and treated us like we have been coming there forever. I am always so grateful for these people for not looking through us like we’re not there and instead being kind., gracious and so welcoming. I’m grateful every single day that we are part of this parish.

SLO - I’m very grateful for SLO !!! She knows why !!! ❤️❤️
My close friend who’s always there for me through thick and thin !!! ❤️❤️❤️
My boss - he can be a tyrant but he can also be the most generous person on the planet!!! Very grateful for him !! Except when he’s snarky then not so grateful🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Awe….thank you :goodvibes
I’m very grateful for you too my friend  ❤️

People...

My DIS folks, with a special shout-out to @PollyannaMom and @slo. I love the polls and surveys. I'm in "watch" mode right now (stuff going on... I don't have the energy to answer a lot of the time) but I appreciate reading the topics and everyone's answers.

My good friend, Angela, who I met here on the DISboards. We have become close friends IRL and manage to meet up maybe once a year. She is my sounding board, my support, my very best friend, day in and day out.

My sisters... just because. I've known them both all their lives (because I'm the oldest!) and we are always, always there for each other.

Oh wow…how oddly timely. I’ve spent the day on the road. I got some news earlier today that made me think it would be a good day for gratitude to involve people who have touched our lives. How bizarrely prophetic.

1. A friend- I found out earlier today that a friend of ours passed away. She had been on my mind these last few days for some unknown reason and it hit hard when I got the news. She had been through so much yet she was always such a bright light. She will be missed by many, including her teenage daughter, her husband and her twin.

2. DD18- I left the house in the middle of the night to pick her up at school and bring her home for thanksgiving. It’s nice having a buddy in the car after many hours by myself.

3. DH- I was supposed to be home to take DD16 in for a checkup but when DD18s ride home fell through, I had to get her because we’ve had issues with DHs truck. I was really grateful that he was able to step in for a short distance drive to the doctor.

Thank you for the shout out :goodvibes and thank you for participating in my silly little polls. I’m grateful that you and others enjoy them.

Hugs to you  to help you with whatever is going on in your life right now. I’ll keep you in my prayers.
