Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Good Saturday Morning Everyone

#1 - Jigsaw Puzzles - I can hardly wait to start a new one after the holidays.

#2 - Watching TikTok - I could watch TikTok for hours. I don’t watch for hours, but I do watch every day when I eat my lunch. I love all the Disney videos on there.

#3 - My Morning Coffee and Social Media Time - one of my favorite moments of the day.

Good Morning!

#1 - Christmas Music - Today I start listening to Christmas music in the car - I love it!

#2 - Advent - Such a wonderful time - Anticipating and joyful waiting for Jesus to be born.

#3 - Christmas Baking - I don’t do as much as I have in the past, but I do enjoy doing my staple items - peanut butter balls, Oreo balls, whiskey balls, amaretto balls, chocolate chip cookies, pretzel hugs, lemon cookies and a few others I can’t think of. The balls start getting made next weekend.

What do I like about December? That's a hard one. I find December to mostly be extremely stressful. It's the end of the semester so I have a ton of grading to do; everything holiday-wise gets pushed off until after the final exam is graded. There's so little time for shopping and wrapping. I never get decorations up in a timely manner, and you can forget about holiday baking. Most of the time, December makes me feel like a failure; can't get out of my own way long enough to make it "be Christmas." Having said that:

Christmas lights. I love Christmas lights, and keep the ones on my front porch up all year. The resident 8 year old, DH, and I have a tradition of going to Wendy's for Frosty's and then driving around to see all the lights.

Nutcracker. DD is a dancer and has danced in over 100 productions of Nutcracker. She was part of a touring company during high school and college so I went to a LOT of her shows. She is a lovely ballerina and I so enjoyed watching her dance. Although she danced professionally as an adult for several years, I wasn't able to make it to many of those performances (out of state). However, she's back now, and she's in 4 performances of Nut this season! She's not dancing at the level she used to (being 31 with arthritis and doing pointe work aren't really compatible), but I'll still get to see her dance again!

Good Monday Morning!

So many things, it’ll be hard to narrow it down to just three. But I’m going to limit it to things I use the computer for during the month of December.

#1 - Pay Bills - I do everything now on my tablet or computer. I rarely stamp anything and put it in the mail. It’s so nice, convenient, and fast to pay bills online. It’s also nice to set up automatic payments online so you don’t have to pay certain bills yourself.

#2 - Ordering Christmas Gifts - it’s so nice and convenient to do shopping online. I not only do my Christmas shopping online, but I also do my mom‘s Christmas shopping online. She likes me to get things and then she just pays me back, which is a win-win because she wins without having to do the shopping, and I win because I put everything on my Southwest Chase and I get the points for it. I just have to write a check directly to Chase and pay her portion that way - it works out well for both.

#3 - Social Media - I love social media this time of year because it’s fun to see everyone enjoying their families and different holiday activities. I also enjoy social media for getting different recipes, especially for baking. I also enjoy social media in regards to post from Walt Disney World, from Disney, from the Youtubers, I watch and more - is fun to see what’s going on in the parks this time of year.

Good Monday morning friends

So many computer things I am grateful for especially being homebound right now. Online ordering from Ralphs via Boost (Delivered by Instacart) has been such a blessing to both dad and I especially for heavy cases of Aquafina water. Online shopping can be very handy indeed.

Being able to watch online worship each week is such a blessing to me. I'm not able to go to church right now so to get to view Sunday service and feel a small part of it, means so much to me.

Watching Christmas especially movies.

This very kind thread.

I added a fourth because I’m old and I remember working before computers and it’s a lot easier now with them then it was before them and we had to do everything by hand with big binders full of sheets and sheets and sheets of paper I’m in Accounting I’m happy we have computers and we don’t have to do this all by hand anymore!! I’m proud of the fact that I could but I’m happy now that I don’t have to!!!

I'm a bit behind...

Solitary Activities...
Walking - I really like to go out an walk on the trails by myself. No, it's not as safe as going with a buddy, but I like hearing the sounds of nature and being in my thoughts as I move around.
First one up - I am usually the first one awake on weekend mornings. I love having those couple of hours to myself. Sometimes I'm lazy, sometimes I'm productive, but it's me time either way.
Driving - I love a solo drive. It's part of why I didn't mind the time by myself going up to OK last Tuesday.

December...
Holiday Programming - I love being able to flip around the channels and see all of those holiday favorites among the options.
Decorations - Our town has three different simultaneous holiday decorating contests. A lot of people really go all out. In our last neighborhood, we were considered one of the over the top decorated homes, but we're pretty average here. It's nice to pass by all of the lights whether you're running an errand, taking the dog for an evening walk, or intentionally driving around to look. I spent nearly 10 hours yesterday setting up our yard.
Food - I love all of the special things in stock at the store and the various dishes people make just because it's the season.

Online...
Shopping - From holiday shopping, sporting goods, and clothing to travel and groceries...I love that it can all be done so easily.
Research - While I still love going into libraries and prefer a physical book for enjoyment reading, online research is so nice. I wish we had it back when I was in school.
Photo Storage - While nothing is without risk, I have fully embraced online storage over having a bunch of printed photos. I have close to 100k photos in my digital storage. I wish I had started this when DD18 was a baby, but I was overwhelmed with her and preferred my film camera over the the digital I had back then.

Inspired by the Christmas lights I've been seeing on people's houses...

Today's Topic (Tues, 12/3) - 3 light-related things you're grateful for
