Three Things...Gratitude Thread

A happy TGIF to you all

#1 - Peanut Butter - one of my all time most favorite food items. Not only does it taste yummy, it’s so easy to eat fast and incredibly portable since a PB&J doesn’t need to be refrigerated ❤️🙂👍🏻

#2 - Cereal - I look forward to my bowl of cereal every day - I love it! ❤️

#3 - Bananas & Watermelon - The two fruits I can safely eat with no problems. I have both in the house right now. 🙂👍🏻

God's blessing to dad and I of having clean and safe food period is something I pray ro not take for granted. I am grateful for Food Banks and a pastor friend who volunteers at one.

All of you know I enjoy my daily 3 mini pancakes and hot chocolate breakfast🥞

Sprouts Original Applesauce is another staple for me🍎

Scrambled 🥚

Turkey- I usually stock up on them around thanksgiving when they’re super cheap. It’s fun to have several thanksgiving style meals throughout the year. Sadly, my stash had to be thrown away due to our lengthy power loss from the hurricane.

Dog food- She was on a special diet after her recent trip to the ER. It really makes you appreciate premade dog food. She’s at least happy I’ve kept some pumpkin in the mix…here and there.

Hard boiled eggs- It’s one of my road trip and hotel breakfast buffet favorites. I don’t make them as much at home because everyone scarfs them down or suddenly makes egg salad. Tip- if you have an Instant Pot, it makes hard boiled eggs super easy to peel.

Fried chicken- my favorite food. Obviously I can’t eat it every day and have traded my skin-on, bone-in chicken for skinless tenders but still something I crave constantly.

Potatoes- in every form. Another food I could eat daily but sadly do not.

Steak- a medium rare ribeye to be exact. Typically a twice a year treat.

Cheese. I eat a lot of cheese as it's an easy way for me to get a shot of protein in a small volume (I had bariatric surgery so my stomach is a little smaller than a hot dog). It's also pretty much "serving size" so I don't throw away a lot of it because I get full so quickly.

Seafood. It's definitely the easiest protein for me to digest. Good thing I love almost all shellfish and regular fish!

Ice cream. I love ice cream. I don't even have a favorite flavor, really. I can name about 5 that I'll happily eat anytime!

1. Steak - I don't eat steak a lot, but actually just had one for lunch. The place I work had a customer appreciation event last night and they had some leftover, so the guys cooked them today for lunch! Quite a treat!

2. Egg bites - I love eating them for breakfast and have them most mornings at work.

3. Cottage cheese - I love it! It's pretty healthy for you and now there are so many hacks online with ways to incorporate it in your foods and I love it!

Three foods . . .

I am grateful for peanut butter. I often have a PB&J for dinner if I don’t feel like cooking. It is my number one hurricane food as well, since it requires no refrigeration or cooking. I always have two or three jars in the pantry.

I am grateful for frozen food. I buy frozen vegetables a lot because it’s difficult to buy and use fresh produce when cooking for one, and I am not fond of the texture of most canned veggies. I buy meat in bulk to save money and freeze it in individual portions for easy cooking. And of course frozen desserts like ice cream and thaw-and-eat pies and cakes are good as well. I would have a much more boring diet if I couldn’t have frozen food.

I am grateful for pizza. While I enjoy Italian food in general, pizza is my favorite. Whether it’s a pie from a local restaurant or one from the freezer, it’s always a treat. With all the various toppings available, it’s rarely the same meal twice. I also like breakfast and dessert pizzas.

It's so fun to catch a quick glance of a hummingbird at the feeder before it whooshes away!

Today's Topic (Sat, 9/7) - 3 fleeting or easy-to-miss things you're grateful for

Good Saturday Morning!

#1 - Hidden Mickeys - it’s always fun looking for them at WDW ::MickeyMo

#2 - Cameos - I love seeing cameos of actors and/or directors in movies or TV shows.

#3 - Deer - I love seeing deer in the wild and they sometimes can be easy to miss.
