Three Things...Gratitude Thread

When I volunteered at a Crisis Hotline that was located in a church, someone had posted this on the mirror in the ladies room and I have never forgotten it:
You are looking at the only person responsible for your happiness today.

Another favorite that I struggle to remember: Miracles start to happen when you give as much energy to your dreams as you do to your fears.

And another that I also need reminding of: Fear does not stop death, it stops life. And worrying does not take away tomorrow’s troubles, it takes away today’s peace.

Such great advice! I love reading things like this!

The ones that come to mind:

1. Always pay yourself first. I've always been a saver because my parents were and I'm grateful to them for that.

2. Comparison is the thief of joy - It's so easy to compare ourselves, but I think we're truly happier when we don't

3. Listen more than you speak

One more suggestion that is very dear to me, please don't wait to tell someone you love or care about, someone who has made a difference to you that you love or appreciate them. Today's Topic (Mon, 9/9) - 3 things you're grateful for beginning with the letter V

It’s the start of a new week

#1 - Vase - A green vase to be specific. It was my grandma’s and I love it.

#2 - Van - My past mini vans were the best! I don’t understand why people dislike them so much. They are so nice for people with kids, and elderly people that have a hard time getting in and out of cars.

#3 - Vacation - Especially my WDW vacations (6 more months!)

Validation - people need to be heard and feel that they are feelings and what they think matter - I won’t get into all of it I’m just saying it’s really good to feel that you matter I’m very grateful when this happens

Victory / no matter how small or how big it’s always good to win victory!! I’m grateful for all my little victories !! They often lead to big victories But each one builds confidence

Vacations - even if they’re staycations everyone needs a vacation I need to go visit a beach every once in a while I definitely need my time off from work and every once in a while you need time off from life escape to Disney !!

Voice! What a blessing from God to me is having a voice. May I use it to praise and serve Him well. I pray to make a faithful and kind difference.

Vision is another huge God given to me grace. To be able to see with my eyes and I pray also with my heart are gifts I cherish.

Voting is also a privilege of mine.

Vegetables - Gardening is one of my favorite hobbies that I enjoy doing with my daughters.

Vineyards - We always love going to vineyards, whether it's one we pass on a roadtrip, or going to one for a party or wedding.

Vacations - It's always so nice to get away and escape the daily grind.

Values - Most of the people we tend to keep around in our lives have good values. It's not a religious or cultural thing. Good people are good people...plain and simple. So, I'm grateful for good values.

Victories - Yes, you learn a lot from losing, but winning is pretty awesome. It's often even not winning it all. Those little personal victories can be monumental. Back when I was running, it was a world of personal best's vs. winning the race. Some days, it's just getting things off your plate or having something go in your favor to give you a boost.

Voodoo - That's the name of our current fur-baby.

And whoever said vineyards as well - I grew up in the Finger Lakes, and driving by vineyards just smells like home!

Also violet - all shades of purple, really, as they were my mom's favorite.

Purple is a color associated with the season of Lent, a deeply rooted part of my faith.

Grandma loved lilacs. Purple jacaranda yrees that bloom out hete each Spring are so lovely, too.

Puple is also the color, in different shades, for a few Cancer survivor ribbons.

Grateful for a friend God made family to dad and I of a lady named Barbara. Barbara's favorite color is purple.

Purple one of my favorite colors!! I always have at least one room in my house painted a shade of purple and several pieces of clothing

Purple in the sky - always so beautiful- grateful when I get to see it

Plums - love them but because of my IC I don’t get to enjoy them but still grateful for them

Eggplant love this vegetable never had it as a kid so grateful tried it as an adult

Junior Prom Dress - I saw it in the prom edition of Seventeen and had to have it. We had to travel a bit to find a shop that had a sample, but it was so beautiful. I still have it.

Purple Roses - They're really more lavender, but they're my favorite.

Huckleberry - I got my first tastes of all of the yummy huckleberry goods in Wyoming about 19 years ago. It remains one of my favorite flavors for sweet treats. This past summer, DH got some huckleberry margarita mix and it's my new favorite fruity cocktail.
