Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Happy Saturday!

#1 - My Wedding Anniversary - We’ll be married 29 years on Monday, June 3rd. Since we’ve been together since we were 16yrs old, we’ve actually been together for 36 years. We also grew up a block apart from each other and shared a bus stop. We’ve literally grown up together.

#2 - It’s the start of my favorite season - I love summer 😎☀️

#3 - Being outside more - after being cooped up during those cold months, it’s nice to sit outside and gets lots of fresh air.

*This time last year I was preparing for our girls trip in a few days. It’s so hard to believe it’s been an entire year since that trip, which was one of the best trips of my life. I reflect on that trip and still can’t believe how much fun we had :goodvibes

June…hmmm…I dread the first half due to some annual work challenges, we usually start getting really hot, and it’s the start of hurricane season, but…

1. I’m grateful for the second half of the month, when my big territory has been filed and I can breathe a little.

2. Late June is usually when we start heading to CO for my favorite part of the summer travel ball season. Mountains 😍

3. It’s the first month we get a full break from school stuff…well, sort of. The younger one still has strength and conditioning training at school but it’s more of a come when you can. So no tardy bells or attendance emails.

Happy anniversary, @slo ! Ours is on the 26th. We'll have been married 31 years but together for 39.

June things...
June is a big birthday month in our family. My sister and brother share the same day (21st, although 5 years apart) and my other sister is on the 7th. I also have a great aunt, 4 nieces/nephews, 3 BILs/SILs, and 2 FILs born in June. Let's not get into the weddings, anniversaries, and graduations!

Summer! I can confidently say we won't have any more snow!! (oh, fingers crossed, hope I didn't jinx it!)

It's grilling weather! At least half of our dinners consist of some sort of meat cooked on the grill and a salad (maybe corn on the cob). It's quick and easy prep, quick and easy clean up, and pretty darned tasty most of the time!

(Sat, 6/1) - 3 things you're grateful for about June
1. June is Hip Dysplasia Awareness month! When I get to advocate for it without feeling guilty or feel like I'm over posting. :)
2. "Bikes & Boats" through my local adaptive sports organization. I mean, technically it's May through September. But June is included, so I'm using it. And usually not as hot, so better weather for it.
3. School's out for all my teacher friends

Wimbledon Tennis 🎾 It starts July 1st this year, but I've mostly known it to start in June, so that's when I start to look forward to it.

(Hopefully) Sunnier weather 🌞🌞 and more opportunities to get outside, including enjoying relaxing, light evenings.

June is very much still school time over here, so it's always been more about the promise of school ending soon! (Second half of July.)

@slo Happy Anniversary for the 3rd!

First and foremost my dear granddaughter. We are so lucky to live close enough to see all the gradual little changes since she was born.

I think it’s safe to say that wisdom grows with age, although I know all the younger me’s are still inside.

All the trees in my neighborhood, for shade, beauty, and as markers of time passed. We have lived here over 30 years.
