Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Adventures I am grateful for

1. Greece… with Turkey…Colette tour with Tom, Mom, Friar Marcel, Nancy and Bill.

2. Hawaii and Hawaii cruise with our sons in 1993.

3. Normandy D Day beaches and sites with Tom in 2019.

4. Cruise around South America with Tom and dear friends, Ron and Connie 2019.

I must say that I treasure each day, each trip with family and friends.

To me, anytime I venture into an unknown is an adventure, BTW, I miss DIsney's old Adventurer's Club oodles.

Being brave &/or ignorant enough to jump into a marriage has been quite an adventure for which I am grateful.
Being brave &/or ignorant enough to jump into being a parent has also been quite an adventure for which I am grateful.
Having had pets we have loved and lost has been a worthwhile adventure for which I am grateful, nothing ventured nothing gained.

Happy Monday DIS Friends!!!:wave2:

The last work week of November 2022 - crazy how time is flying!!! :faint:

Adventures that I am grateful for......

I'm grateful for all the softball adventures I went on with my DD19 while she was playing travel softball, and I'm looking forward to upcoming adventures with college ball. Softball has taken us places that we would have no business being at, if it wasn't for games there. We've seen some really cool towns that we didn't know existed. We would see historic towns that we would goggle information about while we were there. We would go to cities that I would have no desire to go to for just the heck of it. Good good times and adventures I will never ever forget!!!

I'm grateful to my Grandparents for paying for mine and my DH's honeymoon back in 1995. They gave us a 7 day cruise, which was the best time. Until that trip, my DH and I had never traveled anywhere alone together - we were very old fashioned when it came to this. The trip was a wonderful and memorable adventure.

Lastly, I'm grateful to God every day for this adventure called "LIFE". What an adventure it has been - ups, downs, curves, happiness, sadness and on it on it goes. Every night when I lay down, I thank God for blessing me with another day on this adventure. I've had a good life, and I'm looking forward to what is coming up next.

Today's Topic - 3 Adventures You're Grateful For
1. I have always told DH that there is a quote from Winnie the Pooh that reminds me of how I felt the first time I saw him. "As soon as I saw you, I knew an adventure was going to begin." So, I guess the adventure that I've been on with him would be my #1. We hit 30 years together this year, married for 23; two kids together + my eldest; four grandchildren...and he still makes my heart go pitter patter when he smiles at me.

2. My summers when I was 6/7/8. My mom and dad were long haul truck drivers, and they snuck me onto the truck for those 3 summers. I got to see a lot of the US, except for Florida; and I got to spend that time with my mom, who passed when I was 9.

3. Our trip to Belize this past August. It was our first adults only trip, other than our honeymoon. We had a lovely time not doing a whole lot, and disconnecting from the world.

3 Adventures You're Grateful For
I suppose this depends somewhat on your definition of "adventure."

1. Life! (But assuming you want at least one that's a bit more specific...)
2. Summer camp as a kid. Always an adventure as a kid/teen, almost always one of the hottest weeks of the year, and a bus breaking down was not unheard of. Ha!
3. Tulsa, Oklahoma marching band competition my Junior year, fall 2000. We did an Egyptian show that year, and our uniforms were basically glorified pillowcases with holes for our head and arms. Great in the summer. Not so much when its in the 40s and windy enough to not use the huge tarp we had as a prop. The whole band had to be on the field for awards, standing stock still. But we made finals, competing against some very well known bands. This is the night the band moms "invented" "band soup." They rallied the troops, went out and bought crock pots and massive amounts of soup, and greeted us at the bus after finals with warm bowls of soup. We were very grateful human popsicles by that point.

Letter A:

1. Ambian - I have terrible insomnia and this plus another medicine with it lets me sleep like a human.
2. Artificial Christmas trees - I'm not sure I could handle the stress of a real tree lol. They are gorgeous though
3. Art - DD11 is a beautiful artist. She amazes me with her creativity and talent.

1) My niece A~~~~. I'm mom to a son, so having nieces gave me the chance to enjoy all the girly stuff, too. ::MinnieMo::MinnieMo::MinnieMo::MinnieMo

2):cat: One of my cat's names begins with A as well. - I'm grateful every day for A~~~'s quiet snuggles!

3) Apples - one of my favorite fruits. 🍎 I'm grateful that they're "no prep" (unlike mangos and pomegranates, which are currently my other favorites.)

Today's Topic (Tues. 11/29) - 3 Things You're Grateful For That Begin with the Letter A

(...inspired by my niece's birthday, because her name begins with A)
1. Two of my children, both names start with A.

2. Art. It speaks to people in different ways, but draws us together.

3. Antirejection drugs. Without them, we couldn't have transplants, and I wouldn't have my DH.
