Three Things...Gratitude Thread

M Things:

1. My car—I said it yesterday but I love my car—best one I’ve ever had. I’m going to drive it as long as I can and then maybe get another one although we are down to one kid still in high school so might downsize on the next vehicle. My carpooling days are winding down.
2. Apple Watch—I think at least some of that is metal—tracks my steps, let’s me know if I have a call/text so not so tied to my phone.
3. Phone—keeps me organized and in touch with people I care about.

Good Morning :)

3 Metal things

1 House and Car keys, how blessed dad and I are to have both.

2 Metal mixing bowl that dad and I will use to make cookies later in to both share with others tomorrow and enjoy ourselves as well.

3 Thinking of your grandma PollyannaMom and my own grandpa, coins! It is very cool that we each had a grandparent who enjoyed coin collecting.

Metal

1. My husband's hard head....oh...wait...
2. DD's braces. 5 more months to go!
3. Honeybun's collar's tags jingle jangling.

Sidebar and quick update on the death of my friend. Talked to her mother for several hours today. Prayers are coveted as it is a really bad situation. Thank you ladies!

Today's Topic (Tues 1/24) - 3 things you're grateful for that are made of metal

Metal glasses on Love Is Blind. Endless source of amusement and curiosity for DH and me.

The fillings I had earlier in life. They weren't fun to get but beat the alternative.

Surgical instruments. Another "not fun" entry but...again...the alternative.

Kitchen Gadgets:

Item 1 (and inspiration for today's topic) - this chopper:
EE404C64-977A-478B-B3DA-BA817ECDF256.jpeg
I used it last night to chop onions for tortellini soup (it was delicious!) and was reminded how much time and mess it saves me

Item 2: cookie scoops - I use them for everything...cookies, meatballs, stuffing peppers...

Item 3: what is meant to be an avocado tool, but I usually use it to make twice-baked potatoes

Happy very snowy Wednesday (for some of us - right @WDWEPCOT ?)

I love my kitchen gadgets!

#1 - I’m grateful for my electric mini chopper - I use it all the time and I’ve gone through a couple of them.

#2 - I’m grateful for my Nutribullet - I use it to make my protein shake after I work out, and I use it to crush up some items like Oreos and vanilla wafers for some items when I make Christmas treats.

#3 - I’m grateful for my crock pot (would that be a kitchen gadget?) - I use this once or twice a week - you have no idea how much I love my crock pot.

Again I’m going to say I thought we couldn’t curse in the DIS 🤣🤣 already have about 6 inches of that nasty stuff and it’s still pouring down 😡😡🛑 since I was up all night in pain ( my bones hate this and oh hello migraine ) I got to enjoy watching the nasty stuff start around 11 which was an hour earlier than expected - subd been plowed twice so far - like anyone is going anywhere ah nope - may get up to 9 inches - my dog is McDonalds - he’s lovin it !! 🤣🤣🤣
Someone call Mother Nature and put in an order for Spring please !!! 🔥😎

Kitchen Gadgets
Since DD was a chef I have more than I care to talk about - you name it I more than likely have at least one if not two or more - I’ve gotten to the age I’m so done cooking - eat cereal I just don’t care - but a few things I like

My Margarita Maker - slushy drinks with or without alcohol - love my slushy drinks

My Coffee maker - y’all don’t want to be near me if I can’t have my coffee - trust me you will be throwing coffee at me right quick and in a hurry - at Disney i bring instant to make while I get presentable to go get decent coffee

My hand mixer - didn’t have one as a kid - can’t stress enough how much I love my hand mixer

Toaster - enough said

Crock Pots - awesome machines

I could go on and on but trust me I have just about anything and everything you would need to cook - I just don’t want to do it 🤣🤣🤣

Today's Topic (Wed 1/25) - 3 Kitchen Gadgets You're Thankful For
1. Fondue pots. I have two burners, with 4 pots, so we can make multiple courses if in the mood.

2. My tabletop convection oven. Saves me from heating up the house every day!

3. Kitchen torch. It's great for creme brulee and lighting orange and lemon peels on fire for drinks, and....well, that's all I've used it for so far, but it works great for those.

Kitchen Gadgets:

Oh my. I love my kitchen gadgets—how to narrow it to 3? And what counts as a gadget vs an appliance? Some of these might be appliances.

1. Coffee maker—does a pot and the k cups which I feel like minimizes waste. Also froths for specialty drinks.

2. Kitchen Aid mixer—I go months without using it, but use it almost daily from just before Thanksgiving until New Years.

3. Immersion blender: DH and younger DD’s are all sensitive to texture and can’t deal with seeing bits of onions/peppers and tomatoes. When I cook with those things I just purée them with the immersion blender. They know I do this and don’t care since texture is the issue not taste.

I also like my mini chopper and have also gone through several over the years.

ETA: crockpot—I forgot the crockpot. I use mine a lot—actually I have 3 of different sizes and love them all. I’ve gone through many big ones. Many.
