Kid things...
Definitely favorite foods from childhood: Tuna noodle casserole, spaghetti-os, fried bologna sandwiches. I recently introduced the Resident 8 Year Old to fried bologna!
Cartoons- RoadRunner, Huckleberry Hound, Pepe Le Pew. Also shows like the Flintstones and Jetsons. I still like watching these sometimes.
Sleeping on the couch. When we were kids, we lived in a ranch house. When we were sick, my mom would build us a bed on the couch for the day, and much of the evening, as she was mostly in the kitchen end of the house and didn't want to run back and forth to check on us all the time. To this day, when I need to feel snuggly or secure, or when I am just bone tired, I like to curl up on the couch with a blanket. It just makes me feel better!
Friday things...
I like knowing I don't have to go to work the next day. I usually end up working in some form, but I don't have to set the alarm, don't have to get the 8year old up, fed, and out by a certain time, etc. Flexible morning time, I guess, is a better way to put it.
We only have one lab section on Friday instead of two, so there is less running around for me all afternoon, and a chance to get some other things done for the lab courses.
When the taproom is open, we almost always stopped in for a pint or two on the way home from work. Good beer, friendly local people, a chance to relax and catch up. Happy Weekend!
