Yellow...
My paper flower bouquet. As you probably remember, I have been laid up most of the summer due to knee replacement surgery. My sister sent me a 3-D pop up flower bouquet of yellow daffodils. It's beautiful, has lasted all summer (as it's paper), and makes me smile every time I look at it.
DH's yellow stuffed dinosaur. DD gave it to him when she was little, when he had to go to the hospital. He still has it on his bureau, and every time I see it my heart is warmed.
Lemons... and all the wonderful things you can make with them!
Pink...
Pointe shoes. I used to take ballet, and DD has been a dedicated dancer since the age of 10. During high school and college she spent at least 4 hours in the dance studio each day, and usually 6 on weekends when they were in rehearsals. She has also been hired by local dance companies as a soloist, guest artist, and choreographer, and works part-time teaching dance. When I look at the big bag of worn, discarded pointe shoes, I remember it all. The fun, the friends, the dedication, talent, blood, sweat, tears, failures and achievements. Mostly I remember the closeness of loving the same thing, sharing the road trips, and just how much love we share through ballet.
My favorite old, ratty sweatshirt is pink. You know the sweatshirt I mean. Y'all have one, even if it's a sweater, even if it isn't pink!
Pink peppermint stick ice cream- my very favorite flavor of ice cream!
