Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Drinks

Non-Alcoholic (I don't drink at all) Holy Communion Grape Juice for the honor of this extra time and privilege with my Savior at His table. Not a big fan of grape juice though.

Sparkletts and Aquafina Water
Kroger Brand from Ralphs Hot Chocolate with milk not water, of course!

Coffee. I could be thrice thankful and leave it right there, but the poll asks for three...

Diet root beer. I do not drink any kind of soda regularly, but for the past month I have been drinking a LOT of whatever I can. I don't mind drinking diet root beer at room temp, and if by chance I have ice in it, it holds up well after the ice has melted. I think I've had more to drink in the past 4 weeks since my surgery than I've had to drink all year!

Beer. I love different beers and trying them, although I don't drink a lot. However, "beer" means there are 3 microbreweries with tasting rooms here in town, and they are all lovely places to go hang out, socialize, listen to music, play cribbage or darts, etc. You know- where everybody knows your name...

Good Morning!

I love night time - I really do

#1 - I’m grateful that DH and I always watch TV together for a least one hour before we go to bed - rarely do we watch TV, at night, alone, especially when DD19 is at school. When she’s home he’ll watch alone when DD and I are watching something he’s not interested in.

#2 - I’m grateful for my Sleep Number bed - I love it! We’ve had it 19 years now and we’ll never not have one.

#3 - I’m grateful for my pjs - I love getting into my pjs - especially in the winter when it’s cold and dark outside at 5:00pm. Sometimes in the winter I’m getting into my pajamas 2 minutes after I get home from work - LOL!

Reading - I read a book every night - something I’ve done since I was a kid

Watch the evening news - local and national - I may or may not get any other TV in, but I was trying to at least listen to the news

I’m usually on the Disboards - if I can’t sleep, which is often, I’m on the Disboards

Nighttime

1. EK and I have snuggle TV time and binge watch Netflix. DH is asleep super early 3 nights a week due to his work schedule, so we hang out on those evenings.

2. Snacks. I mean, who doesn't like a bedtime snack?!!

3. The animals waiting for us to go to bed. Honeybun (dog) anxiously awaiting getting on the bed to go to sleep with us. The cats anxiously awaiting for us to go to bed so they can run around and wreak havoc.

Night time stuff:

> We leave our multicolored icicle Christmas lights up around the edge of the front porch roof line all year long. I love coming home to their warm, cheerful glow after dark, especially in the summer when we'll pull the camp chairs out and sit on the porch, basking in the colors.

>My Nook. As I get older, I don't sleep as well or as much. I have a nook for reading in bed, mostly because of my vision. However, its gentle soft light helps lull me to sleep, I feel, and if I wake in the middle of the night I can use it to read a bit without having to turn on a bedside lamp and disturb DH's sleep (who also doesn't sleep well due to a torn bicep and rotator cuff- we are quite the pair these days!).

>Our town's weekly outdoor music concerts. These are only in the summer, and they are held in the back area of the library, where the town built a sort-of amphitheater and garden, with paths leading down to a river inlet. We live on the opposite side of the inlet, so on Wednesday evenings we are serenaded by the local talent appearing at the library. It's kinda cool, especially if we sit out on the back deck, listening to music as dusk turns to night (with the citronella candles burning, as the mosquito is Maine's unofficial state bird, LOL!).

Three nighttime things I'm grateful for:

  • My mattress - We finally bought a new one a few years ago and it has been a game changer for my sleep!
  • Having a temperature controlled room, and keeping it cold - As an American I really take for granted my use of A/C every Summer 😂
  • My earplugs - I love my animals but the cats are ZOOMING all night and my husband snores!
I wanna do beverages too cause it looked fun!
  • Diet Coke - it's a perfect, it has bubbles, caffeine, no sugar. (just chemicals lol)
  • Coffee - a close 2nd to my beloved Diet Coke
  • Mocktails - They make it so easy to have a fun drink on a weeknight dinner without feeling like I have FOMO for sticking to my routines!

Good Morning Friends :)

Nighttime

I am extra thankful to God for a safe and cozy home. Extra special time for me of prayer and stillness, talking with Jesus, my Savior. Daily thanks, most of all for Him and prayers that I had been in some way a tiny light of kind wotness for Him. Thanks extra to Him of course for my Dad, our health and another day of life He has gifted us here together. I also thank Him for all He has trusted me to love, care for, and I pray encourage/grow in faith and go through life with including all of dear you:grouphug:

Watching evening TV with Dad
Reading for sure!
Bedtime Pajamas

:welcome: to the thread!

Nighttime things:

1. Grateful for my bed. After 29 years of marriage, DH and I got a king bed 2 years ago after always having a queen. I didn't think I would like it, but I love it!

2. Grateful for sleep - I've always been a "good sleeper" lol!

3. Grateful for kids PJs - my kids aren't little anymore, but I always made sure that they slept in actual pajamas because I think they are just so darn cute! I even had their pics taken once in jammies!
