Three Things...Gratitude Thread

3 Sounds I'm Grateful For . . .
1. My children laughing. My heart swells with joy.
2. The ocean. So relaxing.
3. Music. A good song can lift my mood.

3 Routines I'm Grateful For . . .
1. Sitting down for breakfast and dinner together. It's a great way to connect.
2. Our bedtime routine with the kids. We read and snuggle for about 20 minutes each night before the kids climb into their beds.
3. Getting outside into nature every day, even just for a few moments. Some days it's raining or snowing so I step on the deck and take a nice deep breath . . . then run back inside.

1.Making my morning coffee-I switch up the flavors dependent on the season, but the way I make it is the same
2. My "goodnight" with my son. I used the same routine with my daughter with the same wording "Good Night, see you in the morning light"
3. The bus routine with my son-I always say "I love you, Bud-be kind and do big things"
I will be sad when 2 & 3 eventually end, so I cherish those moments now

Routines

Morning coffee, with the games Nerdle, Wordle and Quordle. Very often Gus our dog, comes to me then and I pet him and we are quiet.

Morning prayers outside especially .

Evenings when it’s Tom, Gus and me. Just our little family maybe watching something.

3 Routines You're Grateful For
1. Feeding all of the cats at the same time every morning (they used to have their own set schedules, lol. Not anymore!)
2. Dinner with hubby every night
3. My Saturday beauty routine, at the end of a long week, I really am grateful to be able to do that

Today's Topic (Thurs. 11/10) - 3 Routines You're Grateful For

Bedtime and Early morning quiet times of extra prayer and talking with God
Daily sharing of life in health and right mind with my beloved dad
Soon to come setting up my Nativity Scene for the start of Advent

Routines: 1. Bedtime. Despite the exhaustion and the yelling. I’m grateful that I get to do it.
2. I started going to a place for a drink while DS is in religious education class. It was lovely. But last week I found myself in the church listening to kids arrive for and start choir practice. I might make that a new routine. I light a candle, say a prayer, take a seat, play on my phone. All of a sudden it’s time to go.
3. Karate class. I like hitting things.

Hug, Carol, and what a wonderful blessing to get to witness choir practice. listening to children's young faithful voices lifted in praise to God has always brought me such extra thanksgiving and joy. I also loved my own time in a church choir. God-willing one day when Covid is behind us, I look forward to singing extra to Him through a church choir again.

Three routines:

1. Getting up early and spending the first few hours alone with my coffee
2. The ability to be a stay at home mom and homeschool my daughter
3. Feeding our two cats, the dog, my DH, and my DD. Usually all different things. HA HA

3 Routines You're Grateful For
1. Eating my bedtime snack before bed, then reading a bit before I fall asleep
2. Swimming on Saturdays. I've only been doing it a few months, but I already miss it when I don't get to (like this Saturday when the indoor pool is closed for high school swimming and diving finals)
3. Eating a dove dark chocolate a few times during the workday... at the beginning of the day, after lunch, and at the end of the day. (And sometimes a couple more times...)

3 Heroes or Helpers You're Grateful For

1. Our postal carrier--we live in an area where there are a lot of cluster boxes. Fairly small package pick up box in it. My carrier is so sweet, if I have any packages, she walks across the street, and leaves them on our front porch, and puts any other mail under the boxes. So very grateful for that, especially in inclement weather.
2. My nephew and all the others in the family who have served, or are currently serving in the military. I am so grateful for what they do to keep us all safe.
3.My handyman--I don't know what we would do without him. I can't do it all myself anymore , and Don is in no shape physically to do any of it. The handyman keeps everything working as it should and does it without charging us an arm and a leg.

3 Heroes

1. All service men and women, but especially the behind the scenes, special ops ones that are doing the dirty work keeping us safe while we sleep peacefully at night.
2. Not to be political, but those who took the time to vote.
3. The unknown angels that came to my rescue during a very tough period in my life. Strangers literally saved me. God has a way of doing that.

All Veterans - True Heroes each and every one of them - Thank You Always for your sacrifice for protecting our Freedom !

Anyone who is ever there for someone in need - be it a stranger or friend - you could do a small thing or just listen you may never know what that did for the person - these are true acts of kindness - sometimes issues go on and on and the value of having someone to talk and vent to us priceless - you just don’t know how special that is to someone - these are true everyday heroes !

The people who work the Suicide prevention hotlines or anyone who tries to help someone not kill themselves - people suffering are hurting but they don’t see that these actions hurt their live ones also - the hurt seeing them suffer and they hurt if God forbid they take their life - Bless these people who are trying to help ! You’d be surprised how many people are struggling on a daily basis

Veterans (inspiration for the topic, so of course one of my 3!) but also their families - who give up a lot if their normalcy by having loved ones away on deployment, by moving every few years, etc. They serve too!

Nurses - a job I knew I was beyond me even before the pandemic, but which I can't imagine doing over the last couple of years. They are amazing!

The crews who rush in after a natural disaster - to rescue people, clean up, and rebuild. Difficult, unpredictable work that takes huge amounts of compassion and optimism!
