Three Princesses and a June Trip to Disney World with pics, Final Update Aug 11th

Day Five - Daytime -Animal Kingdom Continued Some More

After our meeting, we went to see the gigantic life sized animals to snap some pics with too. We made a bathroom run and about 10:40 am take the train back to Africa. Needless to say it was a great time to go out to the Conservation Station and I would recommend it. (One thing we did skip was the petting zoo outside…I was concerned about diseases and since Belle was just sick I figured it best to skip it)

Notice Cindy isnt scared of this thing at all...

By now Africa was packed. We did consider going on the Safari again but since there was so much to do, we skipped it for now. We made our way to the Tree of Life for Its Tough To Be A Bug. I have to say I love this show…I think it’s a combination of the Tree, which I find completely fascinating, and the great 3 D show. For some reason there was no line and we didn’t even need our FP. I was surprised since it was almost 11 am. We entered the theater towards the front but we didn’t get seats exactly in the middle which is what I was aiming for. We were a little to the right. Belle sat on my lap and snuggled again which was so cute. Cindy sat between me and Liz and DH was on the far side. It’s a great show and everyone looked hilarious in those glasses. :rotfl2: The fog part started to freak Cindy out but I just held her hand and she was fine. Belle peaked out a few times and liked Flik in the ceiling I think. I did warn the girls about the water spray and the bugs leaving the theater. It still freaked Cindy out a bit..hahahaha. I was proud of them for managing the show though….without crying.

(Now why didnt I take any pics?? I still can't figure it out! :confused3 I think it was because we were running out of space on camera so sorry we dont have many pics for the middle of our day)

We exited about 11:15 am and gathered the stroller and looked at the show times for Lion King show.:simba: It was top priority for me. There was an 11:40 am show…perfect!! So we went there next. It was quite a walk to swerve around people etc. and it was beginning to get hot. I did notice it as much cooler here since there was so much shade. I was much hotter at MK let me tell you! So we get there and park the stroller and head into the theater. Actually I think we stood in line for a minute or two and then they let us in. We picked the first riser in the “warthog” section. Great seats but all the seats looked good actually. Belle fell asleep while we waited and it was nice to sit in the cool and people watch.

At 11:40 am the show started and it was :thumbsup2 fantastic….the music was terrific and so were the moving sets and the acrobats were amazing. The girls had watched the movie a few times before we left home so they were familiar with the songs. We sang along :music: and Belle even woke up for the last 10 min of the show. She was pointing at everything!

Afterwards it was back out into the sea of humanity. We picked up the stroller and decided it was time for lunch. I was afraid it would be too crowded already but the Tusker House wasn’t that filled up at all. We got a large table and brought the stroller right next to us against a wall. I took everyone’s order and stood in line with Liz. By now I was a pro at ordering. DH and I got 1/2 Rotisserie Chicken served with garlic mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables…delish I tell you! The girls got…..can you guess…mac and cheese and I also got them the chicken drumstick for variety. We all shared everything and for dessert we had carrot cake and chocolate cake which we also passed around.:drinking1 :cake: Full and refreshed we made a quick pitstop and headed out. Now it was crowded and hot!!!

Do you remember that nice shaded empty walkway we took in the morning? Well now it was filled to capacity. :crowded: Everyone was walking so slowly and stopping and trying to talk to each other while they walked….Grrrrrrrrr! Very frustrating to get anywhere. To make matters worse, the talking Vine thing was in the middle of the path. So we came to a complete stop. I was so mad I didn’t even take a pic of her. Finally she moves to the side and the crowd begins moving again. We finally make it to Kali River Rapids. DH takes Liz while I take the girls on the Jungle Trek. We make plans to meet at the exit of Kali. Or at least that’s what I hoped DH heard me say. I was a little worried about that cause if we get separated we don’t have cell phones to call each other.:sad2:

Continued again in the next post!!! :teacher:

Day Five - Daytime -Animal Kingdom Continued yet again

The Maharajah Jungle Trek was so cool. I gave the girls one of the maps and at one point Cindy says the reindeer are coming up next. I look at the map and it’s the Blackbuck Antilope that she was seeing. I laughed. I couldn’t believe she could follow along on the map. I tried not to take too much time however cause I didn’t want to miss DH and Liz. I knew they would be going pretty quickly since they had the FP. Which brings up another problem. What do I do with our paper FP we had obtained? I decided I was going to give them away before we left if we decided not to reride Kali. We made our way thru the Trek and exited and somehow DH spotted us. I really don’t know how we met up…the timing was perfect. :hourglass

Next, Liz and I went on Kali. We had to find our way around to the front and DH decided to stay on the bridge by the exit to take our pic. Gee if I had known that was there I could have taken their pic. Live and learn. We used our DFP and wound around and around. Gosh, it was a long walk thru the cue area but nice and shady. I was thinking that Disney has the best waiting areas! We get to the ride and only wait a few minutes. Then it’s our turn! I looked around our raft to see who I thought would be the ones to get wet. We were off and it was a great ride. Such great theming and we didn’t get too wet. Just a little spray at the end! Here we are going under the bridge at the end!

IMGP3288.jpg

By now its about 1:45 pm and we walk around the park to Dinoland. We take a pic of EE in the background and Cindy decides to take a well-earned snooze.

Would you attempt that???
IMGP3289.jpg

It was hard to get Cindy in the stroller unless she wanted to nap and then the stroller was essential. We were getting tired ourselves. It was a nice walk around and we passed the Nemo show cue area. Do we do another show? We decided to do Dinosaur first and then see. So off DH and Liz go. Boy Liz was lucky to get to go on all of the rides!!! Unfortunately I couldn’t do much while we waited because DD3 was asleep so I found a bench in the shade.

IMGP3291.jpg

I set the fan up on DD3 and looked for Dissers. I didn’t even feel like ice cream…it was too hot and it would melt. DD2 worked on her “trip report” too…she scribbled in my pad at the end! At 2:30 pm Liz and DH return. They said it was a great ride. Rather than go again, Liz wanted to try Primeval Whirl. Now while I am great on coasters (short of EE which I am too afraid to even attempt), I am not good with spinning. I didn’t realize what the whirl part of the name meant till I was doing it!!! We DFP it so we hopped right on. What a fun ride! They actually have two identical sides.

It was 2:45 pm by now but I had promised Belle a ride on Triceratop Spin and I wasn’t too dizzy so we were off together. She loved it…its like Dumbo but you are riding dinosaurs instead. Around we went and up and down!

IMGP3290.jpg

We exited and had to do one last pitstop. We passed this creature and Felicia wanted her pic with him so I captured it. I saw people looking at me. I know, I know…a grown adult with a stuffed animal….but I won’t ever see you again so it doesn’t really matter what you think of me….hahahahah!

IMGP3292.jpg

In order to get to our ADR’s tonight, we did need to get going so unfortunately, we never made it back to Kali or the Nemo Show but we certainly had done most of what I wanted today! Since the little girls didn’t use their dream FP, DH decided to find a couple to give them to. We saw a couple on their honeymoon (they had bride and groom ears on:bride: :earsboy: ) but the crowd was moving and when DH approached them they said “No thanks!”:scared: We tried to explain what they were but they flowed away with the crowd. I think they thought we were trying to give them something illegitimate. I guess if you don’t know what the Dream Fast Pass Badge is you don’t understand. So we ended up keeping them and they are going in my scrapbook!:thumbsup2

With some more congratulations :flower3: on the way out, we head to the bus and got on without more than a 2 min wait. It was 3 pm and the ride to POR was relatively short. Cindy woke up when I transferred her onto the bus and sat on my lap all the way back. We arrived at POR and walked back to our rooms. We showered and rested  for a little while. We debated about whether to take a taxi to Animal Kingdom Lodge or the bus. The bus would take us back to AK and then we would have to transfer to an AKL bus. Stayed tuned to find out what our decision was!

Jon was attacked by a goat in the petting zoo. Lucky you didn't go!

No! I didn't believe you. Remember? I knew who you were aiming it at. I meant that I was totally into the whole joke! I just didn't know that you really had to wait for Julianne! Good job.
Sometimes I am so dense I amaze myself...of course you knew...duh on my part :headache:

Oh Cathy!!!!! I amjust getting caught up and um, we need to talk about this cliffhanger thingy. Bad enough that we have those other 2 and their cliffhangers, but really you too?

OMG! you are a great sewer, I am lucky if I can sew a button back on:sad2:

Looking forward to what you saw:lmao:
OK Puggymom...I caved and posted the rest of the day...it was long!
Thanks about the sewing...I think I inherited it from my grandmother who was an excellent seamstress....I may not be all that but it is something I enjoy! Gosh your pugs are the cutest! :goodvibes I just want to scratch them on the head!!!

Jon was attacked by a goat in the petting zoo. Lucky you didn't go!

  I hope he wasn't harmed. I hate when kids are scared of animals! :sad2: We have attack seagulls and sometime attack ducks around the ponds from being fed food. I bet that was the goats problem.

Yay on your FPs...what a charge that is!!! I can't believe the couple didn't know what they were! But...as you know...I think scrapbooking them is an acceptable alternative! :teeth:

WOOHOO:cool1: on your FP's!!!!
Did you scream like a little girl (I did:blush: )

Those honeymooners clearly weren't Disser's, nothing but amateurs, clearly not worthy. :snooty:

Ok, I may have to turn in my Dis membership, but I had no idea there was a petting zoo at Conservation Station, and I have been there a couple of times (though I did skip on my last trip). Has it always been there?:confused3

You are a brave woman riding Kali with no poncho, I avoid this ride whenever possible. I don't like being wet.

I'd have been screaming too!!!! Just to get a dream is AWESOME!! Those honeymooners clearly had their heads in the clouds!!!! I wonder if they'll ever realize what they missed out on?? I love the pics w/ Rafiki and Pocahontus!!! How cute!!!

You won! Yea hooo!

What a generous attempt to send some pixie to another couple.

Their lose.

As always, the kids are cuties. I love the matching girly t-shirts. Did you make them?

If I were you, I would have taken the cab.

But my dh doesn't always let us... CHEEPO!:rotfl:

I showed DH the pic you took of the Dream team and told him... remember what they look like!!! Thanks for taking a pic of em!!

I am a little behind on the scrapbooking...I am only on our US day....but I'll be sure to put those badges in! As we know, most people show up at WDW without much of a clue so I wasnt too surprised they didnt get the whole FP thing...oh well.

WOOHOO:cool1: on your FP's!!!!

::yes:: This was me freaking out ->:jumping1:
I am all about animals but I dont know if its safe petting all the different kinds in a public forum like that. We do it at our horsebarn just fine...maybe I was worried for nothing.

Really enjoying your TR. Can't wait to read more!!:goodvibes
Hi Sharon....thanks for reading!!! More is coming up! :cheer2:

I'd have been screaming too!!!! Just to get a dream is AWESOME!! Those honeymooners clearly had their heads in the clouds!!!! I wonder if they'll ever realize what they missed out on?? I love the pics w/ Rafiki and Pocahontus!!! How cute!!!

Hi Lee Lee...was it worth the wait?? I was just going nuts...I felt like a teenager meeting their idol or something. :rotfl2: I doubt they understood  Awww we really liked meeting Rafiki and Poca! :thumbsup2

Yes I made them about a week before we left! I found an awesome thread here which inspired me!
The cab is :thumbsup2 but I think it cost $15 so its not something you can do all the time. Ya...I know about the DH thing....:rolleyes1

I showed DH the pic you took of the Dream team and told him... remember what they look like!!! Thanks for taking a pic of em!!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: thats so funny! When do you go? Here's pixie dust for you!pixiedust: I have heard of two families winning the night in the castle at MK by being on Goofy's barnstormer roller coaster ride in the morning...the only thing is you have to be just the right # in line for that....but I thought I would pass the tip along to ya! :thumbsup2

HEHE... Thanks for the tip... We'll just hae to try that on 1 of our MK days!!! We are going in late Sept.. last week...

Wow Cathy you won FP's :yay: that's great and there I was not wanting to go and do Planet Watch this trip! Can't believe those honeymooners didn't want them, maybe they thought you were trying to sell them or something :rotfl2:

What a long update...not cute and short like somebody else on the DISboards, but I'm not naming any names...:rolleyes1

You guys were really lucky to have won those FPs and it seemed like a very nice day in the AK. One thing I definitely did not agree with you on...the bus ride was relatively short back to POR? Are you kidding me? It took like 4 hours! Well, maybe I'm exaggerating but it was pretty long to us at least.

Great update! Woo hoo on winning the Dream Fast Passes!!! Thanks for including all the wonderful pictures!

Denise

Ohhhhh, I just noticed the link to your trippie....good now I have something to do today besides scrapbook....now which one should I read first?

Thanks Jo!
:cool1: Are you just soooo excited? I can't believe its getting near the end of July already! Your trip is coming so soon! Hey, maybe one person could plant themselves by the train station until you spot them (DT)...do you think they go to the same place each day??? :rotfl2:

Oh yes I suppose I am supposed to say...go read DM's trippie and then come back here! OK happy now??? :rotfl:
Thanks about the DFP...it was so surprising! I thought the trip to MK was long but I think what made all the trips long was the ride around the resort....:rotfl: I think that added like 10 min to every trip! There was also the factor of how squirmy Belle was...less squirmy = faster seeming ride!!!! :rotfl2: She must have sat still on the way home from AK!!!! (Oh wait I just remember that Cindy sat on me and she was half awake...Belle must have been sitting next to me with Liz! No wonder!)
But actually according to my passporter, its 10 min to MK and 15 min to AK..it says 10 min to Epcot too but I thought that seemed like a really short ride! I tell you what...that taxi cab ride back from AKL which I will talk about later lasted maybe 7 min max...we were flying!!! :rotfl2: Oh well...I guess its all in the perceptions! :rolleyes1

Great update! Woo hoo on winning the Dream Fast Passes!!! Thanks for including all the wonderful pictures!

Denise
Awww thanks so much Denise! Sure wish I had more pics! I could take pics all day but with kids, stroller pushing and limited camera space I didnt take as many as I would like!

“IT’S YOU…IT’S THEM…IT’S THE DREAM TEAM…LOOK!!!!”

Needless to say it was a great time to go out to the Conservation Station and I would recommend it.
This place catches a lot of flack on the DIS, but it's one of my and my DS's favorites! :thumbsup2
Now while I am great on coasters (short of EE which I am too afraid to even attempt), I am not good with spinning.
Me, too, me, too. But you give me hope that I just might be okay on Primevil Hurl, er... Whirl ;)

I love fast. I love spinning. I liked Primevil Whirl but I have to tell you that I went on with just my boys and I got tossed big time! I always lost one of my Crocs Athens on one of the spins because one of my legs slipped and went up wierd...

:goodvibes Congrats on your DFPs!!! Funny how the couple didn't want them -- some people just don't DIS!!! LOL

Great installment, BTW! :dance3:
