Three Princesses and a June Trip to Disney World with pics, Final Update Aug 11th

I love the detail in your trippie. I hope Belle gets well soon! Can't wait to read the rest :goodvibes

Cathy,

I am also a teacher!

I found the recipe on All Ears Net.

Angie
Angie that is so cool....of course that's why we were both in Disney in the heat of summer...lol  Thanks, I will have to check it out. Where else did you eat that you liked?
Melissa that is so cool! Maybe I'll see you this summer??? I love our free little zoo! Not quite Animal Kingdom but it has lots of different animals! ;)

Not sure....as much as we love our annual trips, we may shelve it this year since we are heading to Disney in September. Even though we have a "free" place to stay there's still the cost of gas and, of course, any "entertainment" that we do while we are there. So, right now we are not planning a time to come up. :sad2:

P.S...........How did the bows travel and work out?

Melissa
Melissa, it is expensive to travel here and I agree that the other costs add up quickly! You are better off saving for your Disney trip since its so close! The bows worked out great and traveled great on the hanger. In fact they are still on the hanger in the closet. They are so easy just to clip onto a pony tail and suddenly your child is "decorated" :rotfl2:
I love the detail in your trippie. I hope Belle gets well soon! Can't wait to read the rest :goodvibes
Hi Jennifer...thanks so much for stopping in and reading! :cheer2: Belle does get better soon thankfully! :yay:

Day Two – Magic Kingdom Day with Early Magic Hours

Hello fellow dissers! :yay: Welcome to our Magic Kingdom day. Now in order to fully appreciate this day, you, the reader, need to obtain a few items. First, you need some Saran Wrap, 10 heat lamps, a steam iron, and some comfortable shoes. Alright…wrap yourself in 8 or 9 layers of wrap, turn on the :beach: heat lamps so they are placed evenly around you at full blast, and then simply blast hot steam :stir: every 4 or 5 sec or so from the iron, then walk around in your comfortable shoes. Oh yeah, and invite 600 of your closest friends and cram them all in your family room! :crowded: There that should get you pretty close to the :sunny: heat and :smooth: humidity of today, our first full day at ::MickeyMo Magic Kingdom! :rainbow:

So we woke up at 6am, showered (for no apparent reason since it was all for naught an hour later) and dressed. Ditto for DH. Then we woke the princesses and they dressed via zip-lock bags! That little strategy worked great! I put together our park bag, cold water (John brought it and we kept it in our fridge) and backpack full of change of clothes and we all headed out to the bus stop. Our pattern was to catch the bus by the front of the lobby (North Depot) because we could get a seat that way. We caught the bus at 7:10 am. We disembarked and it was already quite crowded compared to the Little Ones Magic Hour I went to last summer. We were here at the same time and were practically first in line!

So we made it through the bag check and the ticket check and were crowded in for the actual rope drop. While waiting in line, we broke out breakfast. Belle was much improved today but I gave her a dose of Motrin just cause. I also kept her hydrated and in the shade as much as possible. While we were standing in line, fellow Disser, 1DisneyChick, says pointing to the stroller’s signs and LGMHs plastered all over, “Are you a Disser???” We hugged  and chatted and were so excited to find a fellow Disser from among the ever enlarging throng of humanity!! :disrocks: I gave her one of my “cards” made with a LGMH on one side and a small version of my Dis sign on the other.

Well, shortly before 8 am they dropped the rope. I think they did the opening show but I think I missed it since we were almost under the train station. As soon as the rope dropped, people started cutting us off since we had the stroller and I wasn’t about to push up close to the people in front of us to trip them. Grrrrrrrr, I hate when people butt in front of you. I send DH to find a locker for our change of clothes backpack which I assume is near where you get the strollers. There are no signs for lockers just lots of signs for strollers. I take a pic while we are waiting. DH returns and says, “I asked a CM where the lockers were, and she said in the gift shop?” I kid you not folks. So we laughed  and never did get a locker. :sad2:

IMGP3092.jpg

We make our way around the corner for our first view of the Castle. It was thrilling and we were all smiles. The CM’s were waving us on and smiling too. I had goosebumps!

IMGP3094.jpg

We’re here and it was so much fun sharing it with the three girls since they had seen pictures of it for the past year and there it was in real life right in front of them! Here is a video I am adding of us walking up Main Street:

IMGP3097.jpg

They had the “spokes” to Frontierland blocked so I couldn’t get a fastpass for BTMR yet. We headed thru the Castle princess: and into Fantasyland! I briefly thought of seeing about waking Tink :tink: but since we weren’t first and the girls were so young, I decided to save that secret for another visit. We headed for Dumbo and waited about 10 min. In line I was explaining how the colored cards work and how Disney lines groups of people up efficiently. When it was our turn, Elizabeth and Cindy rode together and Belle and I rode our flying:dumbo: elephants around and around and up and down. I must say I enjoy this soothing ride as our first ride of the day.

Great installment. Waiting for part 2, which since you said is coming up ou are typing as we "speak":thumbsup2

Your daughters are so cute and I am so gladd Belle was feeling much better:goodvibes

Day Two – Magic Kingdom Day with Early Magic Hours, Continued from Above

Upon landing we exited and headed right for Pooh. pooh: The wait was less than 5 min and we all sat in the same Honey Pot (I think). What a cute ride and the air conditioning was running too…making it perfect! Gosh don’t you just want to buy all the stuff in the gift shop afterwards??? No time to shop now! Next, we rode the Carousel (I took pics), then tried to remove the Sword from the Stone…darn…no knights in our party today.

IMGP3100.jpg

IMGP3101.jpg

It was about 8:45 am and actually hot and humid…already. Wow! And the crowds :dance3: were increasing every moment. We headed to Peter Pan but the fast pass was “temporarily not working, sorry for any inconvenience”, and the wait was 40 min already….are they joking??? Ok so we skipped that…it was the only ride we skipped on the whole trip that we wanted to go on. While DH was parking the stroller, we joked with the CM about her “line” for the Pan ride. Next up was Small World. No wait. We boarded our boat and sat near the back of the boat. The poor CM running the ride in the tower had to wave  at everyone. For hours I am sure! Belle was snuggling during the ride I think expecting something scary to happen, which never occurred. The other princesses pointed out many sights and enjoyed the scenery and the song of course. We all enjoyed the AC! We picked up the stroller and headed back to Philharmagic and reparked the stroller. None of us had ever seen the show but I heard great things about it so we entered. One of the CM asked the little ones to bring a card on a lanyard to the next CM. They felt so important to be helping out! We waited about 10 minutes until the show started. There were several adorable children one which kept screeching in a :cutie: cute way…no really…he was so precious….you could tell it was a new trick he just learned and was trying it out. We finally entered the theater about 9:20 am and sat in the middle of the third row. We put on our glasses and Belle snuggled up. When they started playing the princess: princess music I started crying. Why you ask? Well, to get ready for this trip we bought a princess music cd and danced and sang and got our Disney groove on. Well, here they were playing “our songs” and I just was soooo happy I cried. Belle however didn’t like the loud sounds and snuggled ever closer. Definitely a great show! We headed out into the soup…I mean the ever heating up air….and picked up the stroller. Man I will be glad when this appendage is no longer needed.

We drank water and walked over to Frontierland for Splash Mountain and BTMR. It was 9:50 am and both had 30 min waits so I FP BTMR and got in linefor SM with just Elizabeth. Grumpy and the girls waited and popcorn:: snacked in the shade. I must say the line moved fast! It was actually nice to see the scenery and they had areas with fans blowing cool air and water fountains etc. We passed a great sign inside which said “ You can’t run away from trouble, no place that far.” I liked it so much I wrote it down. Within 20 min we were getting in our trusty log boat. We got the very back row…not sure if that was good or bad…hahahaha. What a fantastic ride! The poor lady in front of us got drenched when a sideways splash covered her from head to toe! Elizabeth and I were so keyed up for the long drop at the end….and it was long folks but totally fun. We got a little bit wet and Elizabeth said she didn’t even have time to scream! This ride is definitely in our top 5! We came out and visited with DH and the girls.

Our FP for BTMR was almost ready so we headed over there and found more shade. We were all getting hungry so the plan was to eat after this. At exactly 10:30 we entered the exit with FP and Liz really enjoyed walking past the line to the front….I think she got a kick out of it. Luckily the stand by que wasn’t as interesting for BTMR so we picked the right one to wait in. By 10:35 we were loaded up on a train and off we went! Weeeeeeeee what a ride!:upsidedow :Pinkbounc :bounce: Perfect fun and not scary at all.

Next was lunch at Peco Bills which was right around the bend. We gave our orders to DH while the rest of us went to find a table. It was nice to be in a cool dark place for a while. I pushed the stroller right up to the table and got it out of the way as much as I could. As I was doing so, up pops Angie….another disser! She too sees the LGMH on the stroller and we hug  :chat: and chat a bit while trying to get the kids to eat etc.We took a couple of pics too!

IMGP3102.jpg

I remembered to exchange one of my special dis cards with Angie and emails too. Now what did we eat? I think I got a yummy chicken wrap and the kids got chicken nuggets and I don’t recall which sandwhich Grumpy got. Everything was good and we were full once again. After bathroom pitstop, we headed out into the very very very crowded walkways. It was mobbed and hot hot hot by now. :scared: Wow!

According to my schedule, we are supposed to be here allllllll day. :confused3 OK lets get on pirate: Pirates….it’s a 30 min wait but cool and fast moving. We do and it turned out to be closer to 25 min. Belle fell asleep on me in line and slept thru the entire ride but everyone else loved it. This is definitely in my top 5 rides cause I remember it from when I was little. There was a pirate tutorial taking up any available walkway outside of Pirates. And now I must bring up my rant….it’s the “OP’s” You know the people who are completely oblivious to those around them. :snooty: They walk really slow next to each other so no one can go around or through and they stop and read a map in the middle or just stop and start thinking about what they want to do next. Do they move over and let you by??? NO….that’s cause they are OP’s (oblivious people). Well today must have been half off day for all OP’s cause there were a lot of them. So trying to get over to Jungle Cruise was much easier when I hired a private helicopter. I fast passed JC and we decided to try the Tiki Room since I liked that song from our Disney CD we bought.

Continued in post below...Keep reading! :coffee:

Dumbo will be our first stop on MK morning, as well. I can't wait to see Brooklynn and Jill going round and round, waving at me down below. I can't wait to see Brooklynn's face as she takes in all the sights and sounds around her.

I know what you mean about the first castle view of the trip. It does just seem to make it official that you are really there!

I found your TR. I have three kids: 10, 6 and almost 5. I've got a little post-it I'm keeping to write down rides you say are scary for the kids. It sounds like our kids have similar tastes. :thumbsup2

Day One - Still continuing....am I writing too much??

So we stash the stroller yet again and stand outside in the “pre-show” area with a pretty waterfall. It was about 12:20 pm and that’s when it happened. What you ask??? Well, I am standing there holding Belle who was awake now and someone taps me on the arm and says, “Are you Cathy??”….can you guess who it was??? She was the only other Disser I knew would be in the park today…it was Cinderella16 (Julianne). She looked just like her picture and so did her Disney “boyfriend”. I was sooooo excited to see them! We chatted a little bit about our days and schedule and took a pic. (If you check out Cinderella16's trip report...she has some exciting news to tell!!!) Soon thereafter the show started so we parted ways and went in. Now, my friends, there are millions if not billions of people today in the park. There are at most 100 people here in line for this show and we run into each other. Amazing….I don’t believe in coincidences either. It was just really special to “know” someone.

IMGP3108.jpg

The Tiki room was cool and fun! We said our good-byes outside and gathered the stroller to head to Toontown via Frontierland. The girls wanted ice cream so we stopped and got two frozen lemonades and a :mickeybar mickey bar. Yummmy.

IMGP3109.jpg

IMGP3110.jpg

While there, who comes to town but our old friend Woody and his rodeo. It was like a mini parade right there next to us.

IMGP3111.jpg

IMGP3112.jpg

After our little rest, we decide to hop on the :sail: Riverboat around 1:30 pm for a cruise. It was shut down last summer so we hadn’t tried it. At this point, we were so tired (or at least I was) that I sat on the deck and watched from that vantage point. The breeze felt nice too but was over all too soon.

IMGP3114.jpg

]

Water…I think….we need water…sprinklers would be great…and there is some in Toontown. So we trudge thru the crowd and I am amazed that people are standing and sitting out in the direct sun either in lines or waiting for people….I am thinking they are crazy  :sunny: to wait in line for a ride for 60 min. Well, the fountains in Toontown are at :donald: Donald’s Boat but they were a bust. They were only squirting occasionally and it wasn’t shaded either. Uggggg…we take cover in Mickey’s tent…and have an executive meeting between :groom: DH and I. At this point it was approaching 2:30. We are never going to last all day in the heat and besides the crowds make it impossible to do anything. We decide to walk to the front and catch a shady spot to watch the 3 pm parade then go back to the room for a rest and shower. I couldn’t think of a more inviting perfect plan. I figure tonight we can use our JC fast pass and try Buzz and whatever else we want in Tomorrowland after dinner. So we find a spot for the parade, the only shady spot we could find. We were right on the curb but a few feet back at the top of Main Street near the baby station.

The following situation ensues while we wait. A lady stands in the walkway and a CM ask her and her friend to move. The friend does but the lady refuses. The CM again asks her politely and explains the sidewalk needs to be clear so people can pass by. :sad2: She rolls her eyes at him and refuses to move. She flips her hair and stands her ground (in the way). The CM leaves and comes back one last time. This time he was more direct and says she must move. She tries to laugh and calls him blankety-blank name, looking around at the crowd for support. I glare at her personally. I mean the guy is just trying to do his job…..move for heavens sake. Well, he leaves and about 60 seconds later a very important-looking lady CM loaded with walky talkies etc and a stern face, comes up to her and says move or else. Miraculously she does. They thank her nicely and she stands for a moment and is so embarrassed or mad that the rules actually applied to her that she leaves. Good riddance. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.

So we drink water and snacks and look at the parade route on the map trying to figure out when it will be here so we can leave….a nice CM comes over to chat with the girls and gives them each a sticker. So sweet. We ask if the parade is coming soon and she does say that they “stepped off a little late today”. Finally at 3:20pm the parade gets to us. I snap a few pics and Cindy sits up on DH’s shoulders for a better view. Wow…what a great parade.

IMGP3117.jpg

IMGP3118.jpg

I took a pic of the winners of the night in the castle. They looked extremely hot and tired and not too excited. Hmmpffff …they shoulda picked me! Hahahahaha! It was hot so I actually commiserated with them having to be in the parade in the direct sun.

IMGP3120.jpg

IMGP3126.jpg

IMGP3124.jpg

IMGP3129.jpg

IMGP3132.jpg

After the parade ended, we headed for the buses and got on no wait at 4 pm. We make it back to POR and I bath the girls and dress them in new outfits for the evening. Then I demand naps. I encounter no resistance and we all settle down for a much needed cool relaxing rest!!! Ahhhhhhhh!!! :cloud9:

You can turn off the heat lamps now. The rest of the day will be another installment! See you all soon!

What's up with that? Sometimes I think the adults at Disney check their brains at the door! :sad2:

Oh my!! If it's that hot in June, I'm seriously scared about August!!

Thanks for the wonderfully long installment.... you made my afternoon! :cloud9:

Cathy (if I may call you Cathy) waht a great trip report. It just makes me look forward to ours more and more. I can't wait to share all of these things with DS (we will be celebrating his 4th Birthday at WDW:cool1: ) We have been there every year sine he was 11 months old, but I think this year is going to be really special becasue he is at that point where he can tell us what he wants to do and makes the height requirement for them. Keep it comingpopcorn::

Janet

Great installment, and no not too many details. Yikes about the heat, my brother and his family are there this week and they ARE NOT planners. Yes you read that right. How we ended up in the same family is beyond me.

Remember what I said in my trip report about rude people breeding, well, it seems you encountered a perfect speciman.;)

Great installment. Waiting for part 2, which since you said is coming up ou are typing as we "speak":thumbsup2

Janet...I wrote and wrote and wrote :rotfl: Thank you about the girls and I am glad Belle got better too...course she just got sick  again last night...I took her to doctor today and its strep...I wonder which part of Disney she picked that up in??? Poor thing...her defenses were down but she is on RX and keeping it down this time and mending yet again!

Dumbo will be our first stop on MK morning, as well. I can't wait to see Brooklynn and Jill going round and round, waving at me down below. I can't wait to see Brooklynn's face as she takes in all the sights and sounds around her.

MeMom have your camera ready and snap pics of their expressions ;) BTW my Belle is Brooklyn..did you see her shirt during the parade at the end?
I found your TR. I have three kids: 10, 6 and almost 5. I've got a little post-it I'm keeping to write down rides you say are scary for the kids. It sounds like our kids have similar tastes. :thumbsup2
I will keep this in mind as I write and tell you who was scared of what...I mean it was funny since they all took turns over different things!

Ummmm.... NOPE! I love it! :goodvibes

Awwww thanks Tracy! I agree about the brain checking! Glad you dont mind the details....I am printing it out eventually for my scrapbook so the kids can read about the trip when they get older! Do you do that too?? And about the heat....I was there for 4 days last August and I dont recall it being so hot and humid together...that was the clincher.:cool2:

Janet (sure you can call me Cathy!!!) your DS sounds like the perfect age and since he has been a lot he will really remember his trips! Disney really does have a lot of stuff for little ones! I hope you all enjoy your trip!! :yay:

Oppss you snuck in there PuggyMom! LOL about your brother and he isnt alone let me tell you...I was telling people all kinds of basic info as they questioned me! :rotfl2: Oh yes I do remember that part in your trippie!

I'm agreeing with V here and amazed at all you guys did the first day there. Isn't Ohana's great, the food was delicious. I forgot my ID so couldn't order a Lapu, but I drank from my mom's when we went. Absolutely yummy, I think I'll have to make a special trip to the Poly just for another one of those. ;)

I so wanted to do EMH mornings, but it's so hard to get everyone up and moving so early or later than normal. It's too bad you missed Peter Pan, I think that's my favorite ride in Fantasyland. We on the other hand never got to ride Pooh. :guilty:

You are not writing too much, keep up the great work. I wish I was back there again. :wizard:

Wow I wish I could have taken that many! But I was limited and had my hands full. Maybe our next trip??? I want to go during the Flower and Garden Festival....mmmmmm, how do I get off of work???

We brought the laptop, so every night I'd download all the pics for the day and have an empty memory card to fill up again.

It was sooooo hot when we were there too! I never sweat...ever...and let's just say I was "glowing" all trip!

Lovin' your pics!!! And, congrats at keeping the TR going...maybe I should take lessons!

Cathy, I loved reading about your day at Magic Kingdom! I'm sorry it was so hot and crowed for you, though. That is so cool that you met so many DISers!!!

Keep up the great work, and the more details the better!!!

Ohana's was just great...very relaxing and the food was something you would definately return for! Glad you got in your sip of Lapu...thats all I would have needed:confused3 Yes as a family you have to decide whether you are going to do late nights or early mornings and stick to it! Unless you are staying for two weeks and can alternate days. I met someone who was staying really long and did that! When are you going back again?????

It was sooooo hot when we were there too! I never sweat...ever...and let's just say I was "glowing" all trip!

You are writing girl...what are you talking about...it takes a while to get an installment written and up on the board doesn't it?!! Keep up the good work!:thumbsup2 Would you ever go back to Disney in the heat??? Just wondering :rolleyes1

Denise
I wasnt expecting the heat or all of the Dissers! But it made the trip so interesting and memorable and I loved chatting with other dissers! And the heat just made us go home and rest in the afternoon...which wasn't a bad thing! ;) With that said, I dont know if I want to go back in the summer...I dont know??

Hi All :yay: - Just wanted to let you know that I went back and added a video link to the trippie installment for Day 2 - Magic Kingdom. (Its a video of us walking up Main Street) It worked for me but let me know if it doesnt work for you...not quite sure if I did it right! Thanks again...and I will try to get the rest of day 2 up today! :goodvibes

The video worked for me, you sound so cute with your accent. It's not a big one but it's there. ;)

Cathy, I am absolutely loving your trip report! Thank you for sharing your trip with us! :)
