Just looking over my ADRs for my trip to the world the first week in August. It's just DBF 32 and me 26. We have ADRs for CP, CRT, and CM, among others. I didn't even think this was weird until I was telling someone at work that we have three character meals and all of the sudden, while I was saying it to someone who's not a disney freak like us, I thought it sounded weird. Let's hear it from the adults to who do character meals without kids. Assure me I'm not a weirdo!:dance3:

by myself, i've done chef mickey's, liberty tree tavern, breakfastosaurus, best friends, crystal palace, maybe more.

can't help you about the weirdness problem tho.

My DH & I go to atleast to 2-3 everytrip since our HM in 1995.
We are now 37me & 47dh No children

Go & enjoy

We did before kids. I like my picture of DH with Jasmine.

We are going in October with 4 adults (ages 40, 32, 31, 24) and are doing crystal palace, and the princess breakfast (by request of the birthday boy-40yrs). I definitely don't think its weird, but we are also the random adults in line with the kids to meet the characters around the parks.

We haven't had the chance to go alone, yet, but I would definitely still go to the Crystal Palace without children :yay:

We are debating going without kids in Sept, and if we do, we'll leave our ADRs as they are, complete with Chef Mickeys, Crystal Palace and Garden Grill

DH and I always plan at least one character meal during each of our trips. Last month we ate at Garden Grill in Epcot and Chef Mickey's, in October we're doing the Cape May Cafe breakfast, and in December we're doing 1900 Park Fare, and are planning on doing Donald's Breakfast Safari.

And whenever we go to Disneyland we MUST have breakfast at Goofy's Kitchen.

We've done it. Both my best friend and I many times and then last trip, my boyfriend and I did it. The only thing is (I don't know about anyone else) but I always felt weird like I was taking up some kid's time away from the characters. (Obviously, that's not the case but that's the way I felt). I hurry up, get a picture and then let them get to the kid next to me.

Luckily, my best friends' son will be with us in January so I don't have to feel guilty anymore if I kidnap Pooh for a little while ;)

On our honeymoon 10 years ago, nearly every breakfast we went to was a character buffet!

You will definitely not be alone and don't be afraid to ask someone to take pictures of you and BF with the characters! :thumbsup2

You are a weirdo. Accept it, acknowledge it, celebrate it. You knew it before the character meals when you felt set apart from nonbelievers or nonDisney folk.
Last year my dgf and I(both midfifties) went to CP and Donald's. This year, the all guy tour (four of us weighing in at a combined half ton) are going to Donald's and LTT. You're among (weird) friends. I'm Donald and I'm a weirdo. (HELLO DONALD). Welcome to WA!

It is just DH and I (35 years old) and last trip we did Liberty Tree and Garden Grill. Next trip we are going to to Liberty Tree, Garden Grill, Crystal Palace and CRT (have to get pictures with DH and some princesses).

I even stood in lines to get my picture taken and autographs with the different characters all week. You are at Disney and that is what it is all about! To be a kid at heart again.

We almost always do at least one!

We look at it this way- we don't want to wait in line to meet the characters most of the time. This way, we can eat our meal leisurely, and then snap a very quick picture with Mickey (or who ever) when he comes by!

we've always done it, and this year will be no exception (actually, more than ever before!).
We're planning (over 10 days) -
brekkie at: CP; Cape May; Chef Mickey; Donald's safari
lunch at Garden Grill
dinner at 1900 PF (a kind of 'reception' after our vow renewal at the wedding pavilion).

Edited to add - I'm almost 40, and DH is 38 - but Disney is ageless!

GF and I (20 and 22) have done at least a half-dozen character meals with just the two of us. Now, I like meeting some of the characters, just not the face characters... kindof awkward to talk with them. That being said, I love breakfast at Crystal Palace with the Pooh gang.

We just got back from our trip. 6 Adults, (ages 55,53,23,20,19,18) went to Chef Mickey's for breakfast and had a great time. I don't think it is weird at all to go to a character meal. Go and have a good time

I'd rather be Disney "weird" than any else type of weird. :rotfl: We had our rehearsal dinner at Chef Mickey's...19 adults, no one under the age of 23, now that's weird! When I made the ADR the CM kind of chuckled at me in that friendly way. When they ask how many children in your party I said "19 children at heart." So you're not alone!! They just don't understand!

We always do the character meals and wait in the line for pics with the characters. This year we're doing CRT for breakfast because I want to see the princesses and O'hana's because DH wants to see Lilo & Stitch. If we could have gotten the day and time we wanted we'd also be eating at Chef Mickey's.

DH and I do character meals all the time, CP and Cape May Breakfast are our favorites.

I say keep the character meals, they are a blast!
