OK this movie quote thing is driving me crazy...it's all I thought of all day (I know I really should get a life!!) I did come up with a few that I use on occasion:

"May the Force be with you" - Star Wars
"I've got a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore" - Wizard of Oz
"I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice Chianti." - Silence of the Lambs
"Houston, we have a problem" - Apollo 13
"Hasta la vista, baby" - Terminator
"Go ahead, make my day" - one of the Dirty Harry movies

Hello All!! :)

I bought Breaking Dawn this weekend and have spent every spare minute I've had reading it! My goodness...that is a great series! I'm surprised I could tear myself away even this long! Have to try and stay caught up with you girls though!

:sad1: For those of you with all the bad weather.

:) For those of you with great weather and fun weekends!

:cool1: To Shmu and MK! I get butterflies in my tummy just thinking about being that close to going!! FUN!

Quick Good Morning while the coffee is brewing...

Hey Shmu! That fudge sounds awesome, what a great festival it must have been. Been trying to remind myself to enjoy these last beautiful days....I'm with you! I keep trying to remind myself that every cent NOT spent this week is more for Disney! But that darn Wii really messed up my plans....

Alecia! After my own heart! I love Stephenie Meyer....I bought the gift set of the first three books last year and flew through them! Did you get the Host also? Did you hear that the fifth book was leaked on the internet and Stephenie decided not to write anymore for a while? Aaarrgghhh....now the wait is even longer!

The release of the Twilight movie got moved up to November. I've watched the trailers and my only issue is that Edward is supposed to be super pale and Bella looks lighter than him!

Ok, I really have to get going now...I packed a hat last night, getting there slowly! Good day all! See ya later!

Morning...Hope Everyone had a great weekend.

So is Stephanie Meyer's series the one with the vampires in it? I'm always looking for a good read.

I had to go have blood work done this a.m. so I've just sat down with my first coffee of the day...and it's already 9  I better play catch up!!

Ok, Pa friends...do any of you have a store called Five Below near you? There apparently aren't any here in NY....I read on the boards that they tend to carry Wii accessories for under $5 (hence the name). Anyone seen this?

Just wanted to remind everyone that the Disney Moms Panel is accepting applications starting today! Good luck and how cool would it be if a TKer won?

Hi MagiKitty!
So now you have a poncho, sneakers and a hat :rotfl2: What a fun outfit. :3dglasses
When I was a teenager I told my mom pizza was a balanced meal. Bread, meat, cheese and tomatoes. I got to have pizza that night. :3dglasses
I'm enjoying the movie quotes. As soon as I read them I say 'Why can't I remember them on my own?"

Hello folks:
Well I suppose I better figure out what's for dinner and do something around here to earn my keep.
TTYL

I guess I just qouted this to say what a dedicated TKer you are...putting posting here before your family's needs.

Wow...looking at everyone's tickers and listening to all your trip anticipation / reports, makes me wish we were going back soon. I feel like I'm the only one w/o a trip planned. :sad1:

I'm going to go off the board w/ a new suggestion for the new thread.

Recovering Thread Killers - The friendliest thread on the Dis.
or
Recovering Thread Killers - Thou shalt not kill!
This thread is so welcoming and so friendly, I think we ought to talk it up. There are so many mean, nasty threads out there, that people ought to be able to come join the conversation, knowing they are safe from all that.
Just my
twocents.gif

Have a great weekend all!

I like these 2 suggestions...MagiKitty, we need to decide NOW!!!

I have an announcement! I am awaiting the arrival of the mail order husband for Hazel Roomba! I managed to find a refurb Scooba, and his name is Jacques. Hazel is a pretty pearly white, while Jacques is a dusty blue. They'll be so happy together. If they happen to procreate, I'll be sure to send out the Baby Roobas out to all the TKers.

Put me down for one...don't care what color it is. I'll give it a dirty home...I mean a good home.

Unlike the rest of you we had a great day...spent the evening setting on the deck of friend's cottage looking over Lake Huron. The sunset was beautiful and to top it off their was a wedding about five cottages away that we got to watch. It was quite the affair (they even sent a waiter over with a tray of drinks for us)...and to top it off they had part of the local Pipe Band come a play on the beach.

That was neat...sounds like a good weekend for you.

I will not let anyone take a bite of their food until I can take a picture. Maybe I'll take pictures on some stranger's food so you can tell me what the better option was.

I can just see you now...running all around yelling 'don't take a bite, the Killers want to see what you're eating.' :lmao: The sad part is---we do!

Ok, Pa friends...do any of you have a store called Five Below near you? There apparently aren't any here in NY....I read on the boards that they tend to carry Wii accessories for under $5 (hence the name). Anyone seen this?

I have a 5 below I think. Only in it once. I don't have a Wii but will be glad to look for you. I am thinking about a Wii though. I just do not like going to the gym by myself. I stopped Curves because of that too but I have bad knees and 2 of their stations I could not do because of that and they didn't like skipping them.

My fav movie quote---cue Tara's Theme---Frankly, my dear, I just don't ...I never finish it but it's a good one to use when you don't want to swear but make sure they get the idea. I guess I usually say Frankly Scarlet. I think someone said Scarlet saying that she'll worry about that tomorrow. And of course I have to say "I don't know nothin about birthin' babies". Can you tell I'm a big Gone With the Wind fan? I first read the book in 9th grade.

I'll be back to discuss racing later. I was so disappointed in Racetrack. No email about Jr and Kyle's 'accident'. :confused3

I agree, M&N, we should vote for the next thread's title. I'm open to everyone's opinion, as long as we settle on something before page 250! And if by chance you find yourself near a Five Below and see anything for the Wii, please get it for me and I'll send you the money! I have absolutely no accessories, so I don't know what I'm looking for, but at that price, I'll figure it out!

I agree with you re:gym. I hate going by myself and recently we had an incident where a gym user was volunteering to "escort" females out to the car. There were several complaints about this guy, and the owner of the gym found out that this guy is a registered sex offender! Also, come winter, its just annoys me to have to dig my car out to get to they gym early in the morning, and to go to the gym at night is just depressing, coz that's when all the young people go. I wish we had a women's gym around here...

CRT is Cinderella's Royal Table...DD and I are going to go for lunch (she is going to the BBB first so she'll look the part princess: )
I always wanted to eat in the Castle ever since I was little. In 2006, DH and I went to WDW without kids for our 20th Anniversary. We had the free dining deal. I FINALLY got to eat in the castle. I about cried. I even had my picture taken with Cinderella and she signed my autograph book I have from childhood. Best moment.

This trip I get to take my DD to the Castle.

You will have a great time.:thumbsup2

:cool1: To Shmu and MK! I get butterflies in my tummy just thinking about being that close to going!! FUN!
Lots of butterflies. I am SOOOO excited.:cool1:

:lmao: :lmao: Might get a Wii for Christmas. Don't know yet.

Just wanted to remind everyone that the Disney Moms Panel is accepting applications starting today! Good luck and how cool would it be if a TKer won?
I applied. Never heard of this before. Thanks for the heads up.:thumbsup2

Hi MagiKitty!

Oh the images you create in my mind.:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I agree with M&N. Guess we need to get moving on that new thread.
With the late night banter between M&N and Racetrack, we could be closed tonight.:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Don't worry, DL55, I was thinking of all sorts of great quotes while falling asleep last night and now I can't remember a single one of them! :lmao:

Good Morning All...

Shmu & Magikitty - are you both staying at POP? Glad the TKers are protected. You both must be sooooo excited that you can barely sleep.

I agree we need a new name - and FAST! Here are the suggested choices. Please vote asap.

Recovering Thread Killers - The friendliest thread on the Dis.
or
Recovering Thread Killers - Thou shalt not kill!

Thread Killers Undiet (can't remember exact wording. :confused3 Sorry. )

I know there were others, but can't remember or find them right now. :headache:
Where's our official secretary ---Racetrack! didn't you write these down?:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Put me down for
Recovering Tkers - Friendliest place on the DIS. :thumbsup2

Just checkin' in between errands.

Either of the Recovering Tkers ones work for me. :thumbsup2

My kids will also be getting a Wii and WiiFit for Christmas this year. Seems like all their friends have one so we're finally giving in. I've been buying ToysRUs gift cards all year (as a school fund raiser) I have almost got them paid for...which is good since our WDW trip is only a couple of weeks before Christmas...so there'll be no money left for presents

So was that Racetrack's driver that Junior ran off the road?? I saw it on the news. I didn't think they were racing this weekend due to the rain.

OOH, MK that is SCARY!!! I love my gym. It's at the hospital, and the average age is about 50, so i'm YOUNG there! No gym rats or spandex bunnies in sight. And VERY safe!

Hmmm, with a Wii, accessories depend on what you're gonna be doing. Definitely need a regular remote and also the nunchuk remote for each person (I assume you and BF) Get the rechargable ones if you can--saves big $$$ on batteries!

Other than that, you really have to wait and see what games you get and what you need for those.

OK guys, I need your advice on a situation that has come up with DD.

For those of you who are newish and don't know her situation, DD is going to be 13 this month. She is "different" (to put it mildly). She is emotionally and socially very young (more like a 3rd grader than a 7th), she has severe learning delays (doing 4th grade level work in 7th), has epilepsy, auditory and visual processing and sensory integration problems. She is in a very specialized special ed class (other kids in there have Downs, Autism, CP, etc). Her classification is Multiple Handicapped. Her IQ was tested at 65 (for what it's worth--I don't hold much stock in those things!)

So anyway, she went to a camp this summer that was a special camp for kids like her. Had a BLAST! Met lots of nice kids, made friends, the whole nine yards. even had a "boyfriend' who is 14. Well, since she's been home, the only one she's heard from is another boy, named Alex, who lives in California. I met him the day I picked her up. He seemed nice, sweet, very clingy. Said he wished he could come home with her, becuase I seemed like a nice mom. (Not sure what his home life is like, but he was at camp the entire 8 week summer)

The problem is, he is calling EVERY DAY. And several times each day to boot! This is bothering DD. When he calls, she rolls her eyes and says "he's calling AGAIN?!?" (I've pointed out to her that she did this same thing to several people prior to this summer!) She really doesn't want to talk to him so often. And the BIGGER (for me anyway) issue is that this boy is 17!! :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: I'm sorry, but even with them being just friends, and him being 3000 miles away, it's not appropriate. And they WILL see each other again next summer. So if they've been talking on the phone every day until then...I can't even think about it.

So, DD wants to tone it down. i want to tone it down BIG TIME. How do we approach this? The kid is "different". No clue what his social skills are, or his history. He may be like DD and really have no friends, and feels she is his only friend, Sad, but still not OK with me! I don't want to destroy this kid, or break his heart or anything, but something has to give! If he called her once in awhile I'd be ok with it, but not constantly.

Any suggestions would be very greatly appreciated. I'm flying blind on this one!

Wow, this is a tough situation, whgrn. Does your DD not want to talk to him at all, or just not all the time? You could try to tell him that she's only allowed to talk on the phone on the weekends, now that school has started.

You don't know his developmental and social age, so if that's a problem, is there any way you can speak to his parents? Or perhaps even to him directly, explaining that your DD is still young and you'd like to cool down their friendship?

I'm sorry, I don't have children and so not really much help here either. Just a few thoughts to help anyway I can....:confused3

I have no kids either but know something has to happen. Does he call the house phone? You need to answer and explain to him that DD has school now and needs to concentrate on that. Tell him you are sure he understands that school is very important and she cannot be distracted. Tell him your rules are calls are allowed only on Sat (or Sun) and give a time limit. If you have an amswering machine, let that answer and find out who is calling before you answer. Or you try and answer when you think it's him and say she's busy and is not allowed to talk. If he calls on her cell, you give the speech and just tell her not to answer his calls except when you said he could call. Thankfully, she agrees it's too much.

Let's get the new thread started before our Flat TK meet. If we do it early, we will not have to pm as many TKers. Racetrack---try Mags again so she'll have our new thread.

We'll have to do Lighttech too...anyway, you and one of the Disney's I think() keep good track of us.

And, yes, it was Rowdy #18, who tried to do my driver in again but he's the one who got wrecked this time. :woohoo:

He calls either on the house phone or her cell. If no answer on one, he calls the other. I think what you've both suggested is a good idea. I'll talk it over with DD and see what she thinks. My DSis says I should call there and talk to a parent and tell them that their 17yo son is calling my 12yo daughter excessively. Guess that will be Plan B if talking to him doesn't work. I expect he'll call tonite, so I should be able to tell him to cut it out!

THANKS!!!!!
