I don't vote. I know, I'm a bad American and I really should register.

Been thinking alot about 9/11. DD12 is studying it in school this year. I can't believe it's been 8 years. She was in kindergarten that year. It seems just like yesterday that it happened.

That's the day my mom had her first knee replacement. We had just heard on the radio about something happening at the WTC when we pulled into the hospital garage. I sat in the waiting room with my eyes glued to the tv all morning. It's just still so unreal. I cannot imagine going through that. Watching that big cloud of smoke pouring down the street made it seem like a sci-fi movie.

Where is evweryone tonight? I don't want to waste space so I'll write small. I got a 'call' from Sarah Palin about getting a ticket to see her and McCain Tue at F&M. She mispronounced Lancaster but I won't hold that against her. I drove by Rep headquarters leaving mom's and saw a crowd outside this afternoon.
Not even registered?

Do something about this. You need to be a good example for your kids.

Back to racing...saw a show on tonight. Humpy Wheeler was saying how good your Kyle was because of his aggressive driving. I thought they got in trouble for being aggressive now days. Michael Waltrip was being sarcastic...Said Jr said it wasn't intentional to hit Kyle but then when Jr admitted to spinning out to cause a caution last year, he was penalized so of course he's not going to say it was on purpose...learned that lesson fast. It did look like the stands were full on Sun but don't know how many it seats. Now the wonderful chase starts...I'm not thrilled about it really.

I'll write small too. I think I scared everyone away. Quite a few were on here when I decided to post. Then they all disappeared. It's all my fault.

I know I should register. I follow everything enough. I will do it. That is my goal for this year. Maybe when I "finally" change my name to DH's, I'll register to vote (you can do that right?).

I'll never forget 9/11 either. It was the most horrible thing I had ever seen. DD12 had afternoon kindergarten and I woke up to see what was going on. My whole morning was spent alternating phone calls to my dad and DH. Dad to find out all the info I could. DH just because I wanted him to come home. His office was in Philly but he was out on a job in Poconos. They didn't think he was at risk, so he had to work most of the day while everyone else got sent home. That kind of made me see his former company different.

I DO NOT LIKE THE CHASE!!!! The guy in first (no matter who it is ) gets a raw deal. And I don't like the changes they made to it even more than I didn't like the chase in general. Sorry, but if you didn't race well enough to be in contention for the chamionship for 3/4ths of the year, then you should have no chance to win the whole thing.

You had better find out the last day to register. They cut it off a certain amount of time before election day. What's your drivers license under? Do it like that. You can always change it later...just register now. I was in the first group to vote at 18 when they lowered the age.
My mom was so spaced out she didn't realize what happened for 2 days. I was glad I wasn't working.
Guess I'll call it a night...need to leave some pages for tomorrow. Night...

Well that was an easy way to vote...who need polling stations!!!

I don't watch a lot of TV...usually on the computer instead but I had stopped watching the US networks because the election commericals were already getting to me...some get quite nasty (we can get the same shows broadcast on Canadian stations so I watch there)

....then what happen > our dumb *** (excuse the language!!) Prime Minister calls an election here! I can't get away from it!

Altho he did shock me last night by announcing he is trying out for the choir today!! WOW!!! Participation!!! His best friend is doing it, and he's going along. I'm sure he'll make it--he sings like an angel. I'm so pleased!

whgrn-I think you did the right thing by just talking to the boy yourself. I can understand how your DD feels about not wanting to continue the phone calls. But the next time he calls (over the weekend), I would answer and ask to talk to a parent. You could expain your feelings and DD's and they could tell their son not to call anymore in a way that would be best for him to handle. You said he is "different" and you didn't know if DD was his only friend. It might be easier for him if his parents told him that he couldn't call anymore as opposed to just having his calls ignored.

If he continues to call, I may do just that... Thanks

Oooh, ooooh, take me! Take ME!!! I am just waiting for the call/invitation to go see her. And if John is along too, so much the better. But I am dying to see her! I think she's just super!

I remember in 04, I got to see W several times. Even got my picture taken with him. What I wouldn't give for a pic with John and Sarah!

We had a thunderstorm go through. Got very dark. I had a quarter inch in my gage. Looked like it was going straight across so should hit some of you. Couldn't see if it was in NH but NY definitely.
Ike is heading more west now toward Texas. Hopefully it'll go more toward Mexico but looks like Bopsmom is in for some of it. We need to be praying now.

I would have been here sooner but I was filling out my voter registration form. As of right now, it is in my mailbox waiting for my dad to pick it up.

M&N-We got hit with a storm pretty good too. Had the power go off a few times too. Of course it started pouring on my way home from dropping DD7 off at school. Looks like there is more rain heading our way.

LOL, guess we're on the same side here!! And I hope you're right about the winner! My vote in NJ is pretty useless since we are totally a "blue state", but I vote anyway.
