Hi Guys :wave2:

I hope ya'll don't mind my rant......
Well I have been running around like a chicken. I can't believe I accepted a job with less than a week to prepare. I have had DM's BDay, DD's 2 doctor apt's yesterday and today, furniture delivery this evening, I still need to grocery shop, DD's open house is tomorrow night.....
I am sittin' here in tears because I have worked but not on a every single day basis in 11 years. I went into my closet and I actually don't have a thing to wear!:sad: my thyroid is out of control(my Dr can't see me till after Sept 5th) and I need to lose 10 pounds to get into my clothes-not gonna happen by Monday, I HATE to shop for clothes, I never think I look good in anything and with my thyroid out of wack I can't decide then I just cry and leave with nothing. AnnnnnND, as the cherry on this, I just realized that tomorrow is my anniversary and I haven't even gotten DH a card. Which since he is being such an a** I don't even care if I do get him a card. He's pulling the "I'm working a 'real' job, don't expect me to help out, I have to come straight home and spend all evening "working" on the computer....I said to him, 'well, I can't wait until Monday so I TOO can check out of all the responsibility around here' and DD heard that and started to cry. What a night.

On a better note......
I didn't realize there were so many teachers either. I did know that we are a group who are family oriented and love kids-ours and others- that should have been a clue. We also have a warped sense of humor-another hint. I just am glad to have a group of extended friends. I think I am actually closer to ya'll than the ones that are geographically closer to me.

Boy, where is my corkscrew when you need it.

:flower3:  Bopsmom! It will be okay! But you may have to look for some clothes. I know, last thing you may want to do at this time, but you can't very well go to work naked. At least not on the first day of school.

If you can't go shopping, is there a friend nearby that you could maybe borrow some clothes from in the meantime?

Go give DD a hug, and tell her that you're having a bad day. And go pinch DH just to get some aggression out. Happy Anniversary by the way! You can celebrate for real on the weekend---why doesn't DH treat you to some new clothes? And you can get him something like a reality check!

It will all be okay, just breathe and take care of what you can. Cry if you need to. Do what you have to do. :flower3:

Thanks,

Me showing up nakid, at DD's school would do soooo much for her, right. :-)
Actually, going out and shopping is not a big deal to DH. He could care less where I shop or how much I spend. We are very blessed that money is not an issue, but it's funny that he was disappointed that I haven't drawn a paycheck in awhile(this burns my DM BTW, because he never appreciated how much my being home supported him in his career at the expense of mine).
I just flat-out hate to shop-probably why we have money in the first place... I will buck up and go to Cold Water Creek, buy what fits-regardless of the size or the cost. I will take them in when the weight comes off-thank goodness I can sew.:goodvibes

Edited: 7:30
DD liked the hug and is better now, I let her use her new recipe for dinner tonight. She really wants to pitch in and I told her she is welcome to cook a night or two or she can pack our lunches for the next day. She is my trooper.

Good Evening all!

Thought I would stop by and see what everyone has been up to.

D&DDisney: You sound like you had a great time and for so little money!

racetrack: Love the pictures. Dresses are very unique. Love how they change color.

aleciajab: Kasey is so cute! I love his commercials. I can't remember if you have allready said but what ages are your children. I have a DS10 and a DS7. We are headed to Disney 12/7/08-12/14/08. I love the christmas decor and can't wait to see it!

M&N: I love a good buffet. I wish we had a place around here. The only one we do have is a chinese place.

Shmu: Nice looking shirt!

Magikitty: $132 sounds good but keep looking because it sure doesn't hurt.--Well, I see you found one for $117!

Disney54 & DL55:

I see you!

Has anyone noticed that lighttech hasen't stopped by? Could this be the day? Or did she say something about not being able to stop by today.

Hi everyone! Just stopping by. Not long to go until Disney now!

I read back and Shmu and some of you were wondering about the storm....ME TOO!! :rotfl:

I mean really? Really? (that is what me and my group of friends say when something is absolutely unbelievable...said very sarcasticly ha ha) Can you believe it? the darn thing has turned back not once...not twice...but THREE TIMES!!! For goodness sakes go away Fay!!!

Guess that answers the "Is Pepper worried about the storm" question. :rotfl2: In all seriousness though, I actually feel a little selfish worrying about my vacation though. I hope you guys all understand that I feel horrible for those affected by this storm.

Bopsmom
- I am glad to see DH stopped being a poo poo head! Starting a new job can be stressful but remember you have been working full time. You just didn't have to get in the car and drive to work (just every where else in Texas :rotfl: ). Being a wife and Mother is a full time job. Heck, I use my job as a nice break. :grouphug: It will all work out. I feel ya with the shopping, I hate to shop too! Unfortunately like someone said (ha ha btw) you can't go to work naked.

Lightech- So even though I lost the bet (bummer lol) I can't help but wonder where you are tonight...could it be????

Magikitty-
How cool you got your travel docs today!!!! Tell your SIL that the first month or so of them being away is really tough, but she is going to be surprised at how often they are able to come home. Nick has friends that went away to school and I see them almost as much as I always did.

Racerchickey- OMG I LOVE LOVE LOVE that cake!! Your DSM and DD look so happy. I think your family looks like fun. You guys look like my kind of people. Your Step Brother; I like him, I can tell! Good for him with the cane. I think it sounds cool too!BTW I also have an aunt and uncle much much younger than me. Speaking of your Aunt, love your Dad and Stepmom in the background in that pic! I'm such a romantic (at least I hope that is them ha ha)

Shmu- I love your Disney shirt!!

M&N-- Hey!!! Just wanted to say hi!

Hey to everyone! I had so much to say to each of you, but then DD, who is staying with a friend needed me to bring her some things for "Aunt Dot's" visit...if you know what I mean. ;) Anyway, I digress..now I forgot what I was going to say.

Here are some random Disboard smilies for everyone else:

:cheer2: :laundy: :dance3:  :3dglasses  :hippie: :cool2: :grouphug: :cheer2: :snooty: :upsidedow :upsidedow :upsidedow pirate: pirate: pirate:

ETA: Oh heck BOP, you said DD! Not DH is better now. Well darn. Okay, back to magikittys plan...pinch him. I am glad that DD is feeling better though.

okay...making the flat TKers wear Crocs....Isn't that a form of abuse???::lmao:

It is so nice to see almost everyone. Not everyone has posted their pics so its good to finally put a name w/ a face.

Welcome back M&N!

Welcome to our thread aleciajab

Racetrack - Love your wedding pics. Glad it went well. Those dresses look so cool and that cake is adorable. Especially the cars on top.

Shmu - Love that shirt you made.:thumbsup2

Well, our very inexpensive weekend was great. The waterpark was fun and the kids had a blast. It was only an overnighter but it felt like we had been gone for a week. I guess that's a sign that it was relaxing. Here's our budget...

Hotel room suite $8.88 ($10 w/ taxes)
Breakfast = free w/ room
Lunches = free (packed from home)
Waterpark tickets = $12 x 4 people = $48 for 2 days of fun
Pizza for dinner at restaurant = $30 and that's w/ a 20% tip
-------------------------------------------------------------
$88 total :cool1: Or, should I say PRICELESS

:teacher: Now I head back to work tomorrow. Teachers report in for in-service meetings. I am not full time teaching but doing part-time curriculum work for the school this year and subbing when needed. I am glad to see there are so many teachers on this thread. Must be why we all get along so well. ;)

I must have missed it, but how in the world did you get such a good deal? I'm glad you guys had fun! :goodvibes

Yeah! Only four more days Pepper! Are you packed and all ready to go? I hope Faye is way gone by the time you're there.

I am totally packed!! :rotfl: DD got mad at me today because she was looking for her shorts and I had them all packed up. :rotfl: . I'm ready to go. ha ha. Anything you want me to check out while I am there for your trip?

Evening!!

Bopsmom- How can men be such jerks sometimes? I know exactly how you feel. There are plenty of times my DH has absolutely know idea about this house. Sometimes he'll come home and complain because things are "messy". Give me a break. He wouldn't know how to pay one bill even if I left him a detailed numbered list with diagrams. :lmao: As for the clothes, just go out there and get what you need. Take DD with you and turn it into a girls day out. And once you lose your 10 pounds, donate your new clothes to one of those charities that help women entering the workforce for the first time. In the meantime, hug DD and give DH a good swift kick in his butt.

Shmu-I love the shirt. I remember when you had that posted and it was just heartwarming then too.

pepper-yeah, that was dad and stepmom in the background. They truly do love each other and I think they were just meant to be. Keep saying all those nice things about my family and we may just all pile into the cars and show up down your way. :lmao:

I've been wondering about lighttech too.

You just enjoy yourselves silly! And tell us all about your fantastic trip.

I want to start packing already, its gotten chilly here anyway. But BF hassles me about it. I'm planning to use two luggages, while I still can. Make JetBlue work a little.

Hey everybody...I had a terrific day. My mom, friend and her mom went to Shady Maple today with me...I got my meal free. It was very busy...they always are. We went to the gift shop and I could get 20% off an item because it was my bday. I got a Jim Shore Mickey Mouse. Then we drove to Kitchen Kettle Village and walked around. The weather was just beautiful. I had a 20% off coupon for Deerskin Leather---they have Brighton jewelry so I had to find earrings. They didn't have the bracelet I wanted. It was just a relaxing day. Shady Maple is in Blue Ball....near where 22 and 322 intersect. Lunch is around $11 and that includes tax and tip. The dinners are different prices each night depending on the speciality.

Bopsmom...you are a very good mom and wife. If your DH tends to not realize this, that's his problem. It doesn't diminish your value. Your DD sounds like a sweetheart. Tell her the TKers appreciate her insight into womanly dilemmas at such a young age. But I do agree with other posts...we do need to get some clothing to get us over this rough spot. Go for basic black and navy pants. Lots of tops will match and make more outfits. I probably have 3 sizes of pants in my closet now... :confused3...and not many fit that great...and the ones that fit best aren't the same size. This is what makes shopping sooooo hard. And forget the bra shopping, JCP had a sale and I could not find 1! Plus I have a $15 off coupon! Life just aint easy, let alone fair!!!

None of you need to worry about Disney and Fay...they hardly ever close for hurricanes. It's just unreal.

As JetBlue should work a little. ;) . I heard it was cool up north. It was hot and muggy here today, but thats okay, I like hot and muggy. :rotfl2:. I'm already dreading winter.

Oh! My office mate has the flu!!!:scared1: I have been using my hand sanitizer like crazy and my other office mate sprayed the office with Lysol before I got in. We are scared I will get it. Not so much because of Disney, but because I am going to be in the car with my Dad for 12 hours. That's all he needs. My sick office mate called me today all worried (I thought that was sweet because here she is sick as a dog and she is worried and wanting to let me know it is the flu and I should avoid my Dad the next couple of days). WOW that was a long sentence ha ha. And we have so many school teachers on the TK thread...uggg now I started a sentence with "And".

I'm just going to go to bed now.

Wow! You did have a great day! Good for you. :) What is Shady Maple anyway? Is it like an outlet mall?

Nite all! I have an early meeting tomorrow so I'm off to bed early. (okay you caught me we are calling it a meeting, but really my whole group is going to IHOP for breakfast...:lmao: )

It's a huge buffet or smorgasbord, as they call it. Very good food...even the veggies. They had corn fritters on the grill today. And they were made like Mom makes them...like little pancakes. They have a huge gift shop on the lower level. Many people love the Flower and Craft Warehouse several miles away.

Love the shirt too!!!1

4 Days how exciting!!!:cool1: I haven't kept up with Fay, we've had gully washers since Saturday, my plants are happy.:) I hope you have a great time!

Update:
I am going to raise DD's allowance. She got a new dresser today-she outgrew her 'baby furniture' long ago, and it took a while to find one to fit. There were clothes and laundry everywhere. She and I did everyone's and folded it too. DH was upset about the mess downstairs and the mess made making way for the dresser-duh....
anyways, she went up to his office while dinner was on the stove and said to DH,
"Dad, what is it going to take for you to realize that having a wife and a child that love you is more important than this house being 'model home' perfect every morning and every night?(he always says he wants to live in a model home-:confused3 )... I know that there is a mess but you don't even consider why it's there and that it is temporary. If you think that this place is so dirty than hire Flor to come more often to clean up or pitch in an do it yourself instead of staying in this office complaining." That's my girl!:goodvibes :cool1: :thumbsup2
Needless to say, DH came very sheepishly to dinner tonight-I think he might have gotten a hint.

Do ya'll think we might have a little TK'r on the way????:wizard: I'm ready to be a virtual auntie!:goodvibes

Wish we had IHOPS here. Don't 'work' too hard tomorrow!

I think I'm getting a Sonic about 15 min from my house...no sign but it sure looks like one. :yay:

You tell DD "way to go!!!" Glad DH got the hint.

forgot...Shmu: Your shirt is wonderful but I do worry that it'll be wet all the time from the tears all over it when people see the picture.
12.gif
Don't forget we need a pic of you in it at a park.

DD definitely needs a raise! And see...DH isn't as dense as he appears. :rotfl:
