You're right, it is tomorrow already. You've got me beat with only shopping every 2 weeks. I'm glad that with 6 of us, we only go once per week. I couldn't imagine planning our meals for 2 weeks. And yet, I can plan our disney meal 6 months in advance. Go figure. :lmao:

While we are all discussing rooms... DH picked up DSs new bed and a "playmat" (rug) today. Long Live IKEA!!! The bed was probably the most expensive thing for his room... but its great b/c it'll take the crib mattress now as a toddler bed and then can be a twin if we need it later. But the rug was $15! You can't beat that. Here's the link to the rug. I think he'll really get a kick out of driving his cars around on it...

Ain't it the truth! :rotfl:
I think it would be harder to do w/ more people though... I have trouble fitting 2 weeks of groceries in there for just the 3 of us. If either of my boys wind up being like their dad, I'll be shopping every other day when they hit the pre-teens! :rotfl2:

I love IKEA. And I think their prices are very reasonable. Once in a while when we want to do something but not spend alot of money, we will drive down just to stroll around and have lunch. I've seen that rug before and thought about buying it for the girls. They don't like Barbies...would rather have Matchbox cars. :rotfl:

DS is 15 and I never have leftovers anymore. Don't even have to worry about wasting food when we go to Disney. He'll clean up after us. :rotfl: Thinking of buying another fridge just for him.

We've spent a good afternoon/day wandering there too. And, you can even eat there for a reasonable price.

DH is gonna kill me, I'm having second thoughts on the bed he just unloaded from the car though! :scared1: This is why I usually go look in person, I'm not good at visualizing from a description. We wanted to get DS a toddler bed so it wouldn't take up too much floor space. (When he gets a little older, there's a loft in the room he'll sleep in.) But, when we saw the extendable bed, we thought it was perfect... toddler bed now, and a twin later just in case we ever need it. But, I just re-looked at the descrip, and I didn't realize that although the length goes from toddler to twin, the width (of course) doesn't change! DUH! I think I'd have to buy one of ikeas special mattresses, and I have no idea what sheets I'd use. Plus, the width would still take up extra room!

OMG! DH is gonna freak out in the morning! :rotfl: I don't know why I'm laughing. But, I guess its past my bedtime and I'm loopy.

I suppose I should go get some sleep... of course, now I'll just lay awake and obsess over this all night. I do have the worst time falling asleep until I figure stuff out.

Well, thanks for keepin' me company.
'Night racetrack!

Don't feel bad about obsessing. At one point, I measured the kids rooms and drew up blueprints just to see how things would fit. :lmao: DH thinks I'm crazy too.

Have a good nights sleep. Things will work out just fine after some sleep. And if DH freaks out, blame it on the hormones. That was alway my excuse. :rotfl2:

Night!!!!

The play mat is adorable...I saw a castle (MK), animal, I guess a camel (stretch for AK), lower left a thing could be EPCOT (?), and he can drive his cars around for the stunt show....It's a kind of WDW! :rotfl:

Hey Loopy...just ask his advice...honey, do you think regular sheets will fit this? Do you think it will be more expensive to maintain as he gets older? Do you think this is a wise decision? You know I've just got so much on my little mind now! (lower lip quivering) Would you mind taking it back for me? You are sooo understanding.

But then again, the queen of excuses came up with a good one! :lmao:

Everyone must be going to see Whgrn off to Scotland. No one's been on yet. I'm off to Mom's for the weekend. Catch up Monday...

Morning!!! Looks like another beautiful day.

M&N-I may be the queen of excuses but it looks like you gave lighttech a good one too. :lmao: And you know, one of my best excuses for not cleaning the house, I stole from you. Hope you have a nice weekend.

Good Afternoon TKers!

Just stopping by while I'm eating my lunch. Kids are at their last day of Day Camp. I have mixed feelings about that. Wait, no I don't!

It is a beautiful day here today! Sun is shining; nice breeze is blowing. I think I have every window in the house open. Well, since it is finally a nice day I had to scrub the floors (when I say scrub I mean hands and knees with a bucket of floor cleaner and a scrubber). I have the bathroom, pantry and kitchen that needed to be done. I've finished with the bathroom and pantry but I've only gotten half of the kitchen done. I needed to stop so I could put something in my growling tummy and stop by here to check in. It should only take me another half an hour to finish the kitchen.

Just wanted to let you all know that I ordered the bedding for DS1O's room. I will put it away for this winter when we paint his room. You'd think we would get the painting done when we could open up some windows and let fresh air in but DH is really busy during the summer months so winter it is.

whgrn: Have a safe trip! Bon voyage!

M&N: Have a good weekend with Mom! Sorry to hear about cousins BIL. :sad2:

racetrack: DS's Mom is such a goober. One can only hope that one day she'll grow up!

lighttech: I love the rug! It's better then those other ones I have seen

pepper: Still praying for your dad. How are you holding up?

Well, I better get going. The floors won't scrub themselves!

Good Afternoon Ladies,

Having a good day here. Little cloudy and might get some rain later, but we need it. (Can't believe I am saying that after June floods)

Kids are off to grandma's house tonight and Dh and I are going out alone (for the first time in months). We're going out to eat and then to a Brewer's baseball game. Kids are staying over night :woohoo:  :cool1: and we hope to do some mattress shopping in the morning. Our mattress is so old that hotel matresses seem more comfortable. :lmao: Hoping to get a pillowtop and move up to a queen (we have a double). This was fine when we were first married, but now I need some space from time to time. :rotfl: The only problem is I will have to get all new sheets, blankets and comforter. :headache:
Anyone have any suggestions for a good matress? Wish we could get one of those sleep number beds, but I hear they start around $1200:eek: . Guess not.

Pepper - Glad to hear your Dad is doing fine. Will continue to pray for him
Bopsmom - Glad to hear the storm missed y'all. Hope you stay safe the entire season but get some rain soon.
whgrn - Have a wonderful trip!
Pikester - My sons go to camp next week :woohoo: I get to enjoy 3hrs each morning for one week. Sorry about the computer virus.
M&N - You are so funny...asking if whgrn packed enough undies. :lmao: I laughed so hard.
lighttech - That rug is very cute. My son had one like that and played with it a lot.

Okay...another socially challenged person here too. Because I am so shy in person, I think I come across as "stuck up". Once someone starts talking with me I can talk up a storm. Just that initial beaking the ice that is tough for me. :guilty:

Gotta go get the boys packed for tonight.

Hello everyone.
Just got back from our monthly visit to Sam's Club. My DH said if he doesn't spend at least $200 it isn't worth going.
Weather is nice but we're expecting some rain this weekend due to the remains of Dolly.
M&N Sorry to hear about your cousin's BIL.
racetrack18kb I can't say what I think about your DS's biological mother. Hang in there. :thumbsup2

Just popping in quick. I see it's been a slow day around here.

DL55-How do you like Sam's Club? Are there some really good deals there? A little while ago, MagiKitty (I think) recommended them when I talking about the high food prices.

D&DDisney-woohoo, a night with no kids. Can't help with the mattress. DH and I still have a double too and we've had the same one for what seems like forever.

Pikester-At least one of us got something done today. I did manage to work on my vacation plans. Does that count? :rotfl:

Hey all!

Just got back from DH's 20th Reunion Meet and Greet. It was very interesting. I pretty much stayed in the background so DH could visit. There were a few people there that I knew so I wasn't bored.

A little update on the nasty weather we had yesterday. We, NH, had an F2 Tornado go through 8 towns! Very scary. Those poor people have a lot of cleaning up, rebuilding and repairing to do.

I finished scrubbing the floors. Of course once the kids came home it wasn't long before they got dirt, popsicle and other stuff on it. Oh well, it was clean for a little while.

I hope everyone had a good day. I'll try to stop by tomorrow.

Still no time to go back and read everything but I want to jump in here and take a Flat TKer Roll Call.

Today I have printed out the pics I have.
Did I miss anyone?

I have

D&DDisney
Pepperw23
Lighttech
Pikester
M&N

Racetrack-----Did you want me to use one you posted from Hershey Park? I don't remember.

Also, does anyone object to having their picture posted on this thread? Wanted to do a practice before shot and share with everyone. If anyone objects, I can send the pic through a PM. Just let me know.

Oh, and I have a "surprise" Flat TKer going on the trip. I'll reveal it when I do the practice group shot.

Hey Killers, it's me got back from the beach last Sun. but things have been a little crazy. Just wanted to pop in and say hi I really really miss you guys.

Hello everyone!!!!

disney54us-miss you too. How was the beach? Hope you check in again soon. :goodvibes

Shmu-I sent you an email. Don't mind at all about posting the picture here. Now I'm going to wondering about the surprise. A hint? Please, please? :rotfl:

Pikester-I've been watching the news reports from up there. So horrible and certainly not someplace I would expect to hear about tornados. I'll be keeping everyone in my prayers.

I like Sam's Club for stocking up on non perishables. Some times the prices aren't any better but you get a lot at one time, so no fresh vegs or fruit for me. Can't eat it fast enough. Also have trouble with DH who likess to cruise the other aisles for a 'good buy" (ie computers, do dads)

no objection, of course I haven't sent my picture yet. I just got my hair cut so I'll get someone take a pic of me while I still look civilized. :rotfl:

Missed you too, hope you had fun. :cool1:

Been raining all day (last of Dolly) Poor DH's golf tournament got canceled and we won't be back from our visit with my mom in time for him to make the new days for the tournament.

The play mat is adorable...I saw a castle (MK), animal, I guess a camel (stretch for AK), lower left a thing could be EPCOT (?), and he can drive his cars around for the stunt show....It's a kind of WDW! :rotfl:

Too funny about the Disney comparison!!! :rotfl:

Good for you.. I don't remember the last time I actually scrubbed on hands and knees!

Kids are staying over night :woohoo:  :cool1: and we hope to do some mattress shopping

:rotfl2: Is that what the kids are calling it these days?? :rolleyes1

I would love one of those! And, I can't believe you guys are on a twin. DH and I have a King and would smush or bruise each other otherwise.

lighttech - That rug is very cute. My son had one like that and played with it a lot.

Glad to hear he liked it and used it.

Hello everyone.
Just got back from our monthly visit to Sam's Club. My DH said if he doesn't spend at least $200 it isn't worth going.

We always joke that we can't get out of there w/o spending that. It doesn't seem to matter what's on the list or what type of items we buy.

Hey all!
A little update on the nasty weather we had yesterday. We, NH, had an F2 Tornado go through 8 towns! Very scary. Those poor people have a lot of cleaning up, rebuilding and repairing to do.

Glad you all are o.k. I was thinking of you.

Hey Killers, it's me got back from the beach last Sun. but things have been a little crazy. Just wanted to pop in and say hi I really really miss you guys.

Welcome back!!! We miss you too!!!

Racetrack - I do like Sam's Club. Its all what you make of it. Some items are convenient to buy in bulk, but not necessarily cheaper. Some are definitely a good deal, and some I don't think are any better than the grocery store. But, the membership isn't that expensive, so I find its easy to at least make back my money.

Ok, gotta run, but I wanted to check in. It's gonna be a busy few days, so I don't know if I'll be around.

Evening!!!! Pretty quiet night here. We got to watch the Hannah Montana concert on the Disney channel tonight. We saw it when it was in the theaters but that wasn't enough for the kids. So we had 2 little ones singing at the top of their lungs and dancing all over the house. DH was even singing along with the Jonas Brothers. :lmao: After that, we had to switch over to the Busch race and see Kyle Busch win again. :woohoo:  :cool1: :yay: :cheer2:

We went to check out both Sam's Club and BJ's Warehouse Club this afternoon. We wanted to see if there were significant prices differences and for the things we normally buy, BJ's was a little cheaper. Their membership is 5.00 more but they are closer. They are also closer to the grocery store we normally use. So, this week, I'm going to try to use up groceries that we already have and then next week make out first trip to BJ's.

DL55-DH was much more interested in everything but the food and household items while out today. Computers, tv's, cases of oil for the van, tools, a grill big enough to cook for an army. :rotfl: Thanks for the warning. But at least, I know he'll be occupied while I shop. :rotfl2:
