We went to check out both Sam's Club and BJ's Warehouse Club this afternoon. We wanted to see if there were significant prices differences and for the things we normally buy, BJ's was a little cheaper. Their membership is 5.00 more but they are closer. They are also closer to the grocery store we normally use. So, this week, I'm going to try to use up groceries that we already have and then next week make out first trip to BJ's.

DL55-DH was much more interested in everything but the food and household items while out today. Computers, tv's, cases of oil for the van, tools, a grill big enough to cook for an army. Thanks for the warning. But at least, I know he'll be occupied while I shop.

DH is the same way. It doesn't matter what kind of a list or how many warnings I send him out with... He always comes back w/ at least one completely random purchase.

Wait, your DH goes out shopping by himself? Does he call home every 30 seconds even though you write a thorough list? I swear I write mine a book on what to buy including the product descriptions sometimes and he still calls me constantly.

No, no cooking. DH is vegging in front of the tv, so I'm vegging in front of the computer. Its been a rough few days at work, so I'm staying up late to turn my brain off before bed.

Yeah. He does go by himself... and yes, I get those calls! I can' believe what he asks sometimes... its like he leaves his brain at home. Since I work Saturdays, he'll often take DS and run some errands. If its his stuff its fine, but once I tack anything onto the list, all H-E double hockey sticks breaks loose.

Mornin' TK'rs! It is a beautiful day here in Va. Beach. I hear it is supposed to cloud up later, but for now, the sun is shining, it is not too hot...and oh...I have the whole house to myself today!!! Good Afternoon TKers!

Just stopping by while I'm eating my lunch. Kids are at their last day of Day Camp. I have mixed feelings about that. Wait, no I don't!

It is a beautiful day here today! Sun is shining; nice breeze is blowing. I think I have every window in the house open. Well, since it is finally a nice day I had to scrub the floors (when I say scrub I mean hands and knees with a bucket of floor cleaner and a scrubber). I have the bathroom, pantry and kitchen that needed to be done. I've finished with the bathroom and pantry but I've only gotten half of the kitchen done. I needed to stop so I could put something in my growling tummy and stop by here to check in. It should only take me another half an hour to finish the kitchen.

Just wanted to let you all know that I ordered the bedding for DS1O's room. I will put it away for this winter when we paint his room. You'd think we would get the painting done when we could open up some windows and let fresh air in but DH is really busy during the summer months so winter it is.

Well, I better get going. The floors won't scrub themselves!

I cleaned my house yesterday too. It was really starting to feel neglected. A nice clean house puts everyone in a good mood IMO.

Thanks for the prayers. I am holding up pretty good! I am nervous about the results, but my dad is great and he calls me every day to ask "how many more days till Disney now?..." He knows how to keep my mind occupied ha ha. Amazing how quick I can snap right back in to kid mode.

Having a good day here. Little cloudy and might get some rain later, but we need it. (Can't believe I am saying that after June floods)

Kids are off to grandma's house tonight and Dh and I are going out alone (for the first time in months). We're going out to eat and then to a Brewer's baseball game. Kids are staying over night and we hope to do some mattress shopping in the morning. Our mattress is so old that hotel matresses seem more comfortable. Hoping to get a pillowtop and move up to a queen (we have a double). This was fine when we were first married, but now I need some space from time to time. The only problem is I will have to get all new sheets, blankets and comforter.
Anyone have any suggestions for a good matress? Wish we could get one of those sleep number beds, but I hear they start around $1200 . Guess not.

Okay...another socially challenged person here too. Because I am so shy in person, I think I come across as "stuck up". Once someone starts talking with me I can talk up a storm. Just that initial beaking the ice that is tough for me.

Whatever you do, don't get a Temperpedic! We got one and within a year it had formed a groove where I lay so rolling over is like rolling over uphill. They only seem to be good for a year or so. Everyone I have talked to has the same complaint. That first year or so though?? . I agree about the hotel mattresses. It is a sad day indeed when you are looking forward to sleeping in a hotel so you can get a good nights rest.

Still no time to go back and read everything but I want to jump in here and take a Flat TKer Roll Call.

Me and my two best friends are planning an all girls trip next October (09'). I am looking forward to starting planning that when I get back. It is going to be me, my two best friends, my daughter and one of the friends daughters. I told them about my TK friends and they said the more the merrier so if anyone wants to join in I will let you know the date when we come up with it.

Well, I think I am going to go to the movie store. I see the clouds coming (so much for my pretty morning ha ha)

We had at least 4 inches of rain since Saturday am. The desert doesn't handle lots of water very well. We are ok, but a river in the mountains behind us has flooded. I think the weather is improving now. It hasn't rained for about 2 hours now.

I guess you are getting your part of Dolly. We got rain-10minutes of hard rain, every 30 minutes all day Thursday(?)from the bands coming in off the Gulf. I hope ya'll fair better than the valley(S. Tx) they are really hurting but thank goodness the levees held.

Hi everyone!!! Boring day here again. It's a nice change. We were planning on going to look at cars today but got a bunch of rain. DH didn't want to drive through Philly during heavy rain. He says people drive crazy enough down there without the rain.

whgrn-Glad you made it save and sound. But did you have to mention men in kilts? Now I'll be thinking about them until you get back. Going to have to go check out the details you posted so far.

Just stopping in to check on everyone during a commercial. Its Big Brother season! I love this show, I think it really is a reflection of the people on it. Its probably the only reality show I could do, if I wanted to.

MagiKitty, I remember that show and watched it all the time. Of course this one has Jonas Brothers and alot of the stars from the shows on Disney Channel. This one seems to have alot of goofy challenges though. Like being inside a giant hamster ball and having to roll yourself through an obstacle course. The next couple of weeks should be interesting.

Hey everyone. Hershey was good today. Went around 3. There was a concert in the arena so couldn't get good parking. I'm not up on groups now but it had Doors in their name. When I left the park I couod hear them but it just sounded like noise from the parking lot. Herman's Hermits-free in the park-are more my style. I watched both shows which were basically the same. I really enjoyed it. He was one of my heartthrobs in the 60's.
I missed most of Big Brother so I don't know the drama over who was chosen for eviction.
I belong to BJ's. I really don't get all that much there but their gas prices are usually 5 cents cheaper...not now though but every little bit helps. We have a Costco in Lancaster too but it's not on the right side of town for me. I can go right by BJ's on way to mom's so getting gas there is good and not out of my way.
Kyle didn't win everything this weekend. Jr even came in ahead of him. I had to call mom to find out since I was away.
I have to go read about the trip to Scotland...

Hey M&N!!! I think the band you are talking about may be 3 Doors Down or something like that. Not my kind of music but I do know their name because they did a video years ago with Tony and Jr. I saw that about the gas prices at BJ's when we went. And you're right, every little bit helps. The race stank today and not because Kyle didn't win. In fact, Nascar should have been ashamed of themselves after this race. They had to throw competition yellow flags about every 20 laps. Tires were horrible for this track and it showed.

I saw the pre race stuff and it did sound like it was going top be boring. The drivers interviewed were sticking up for NASCAR and Goodyear. Why couldn't they have tested the COT since it wasn't run there before? I really think they need to do something to improve things. My racing friends are getting sick of the races this year. Will Victory Lane be on tomorrow?
They didn't say anything about Ryan did they? I heard there's disagreement about whether Truex has come to an agreement with DEI yet. Truex said no but DEI said yes???

M&N...I LOVE that you go to all these great concerts. I just think its such a rewarding pastime. I just found out about another concert in the area in a few weeks. Darn if I didn't lose so much money at the casino this weekend (I took my Aunt three days in a row--what can I say? My dad's side likes to play the slots) I could just go buy my ticket....

My twins asked me if I could take them to take their driver's test this Wednesday. I'll have to juggle some stuff, but I can take them. But I wasn't going to let them take my car! My brother and I are going to switch cars for the day. I am freaking out! What if they fail? What if they pass? What if one passes and the other fails? I don't think I'm emotionally stable enough for this milestone.

I think tonight's eviction nomination was pretty lame. But I'd want to get Jessie out of the house too (he's the body builder). He's rather shallow and not that interesing. His favorite topic is....himself.

As much as I like to see Kyle win, something does need to be done. There hasn't been much passing in my opinion and whoever happens to be in the lead just drives away from all the other cars.

No, nothing on where Ryan is going. But there was some little bit on Jayski with Rusty saying Ryan was actually fired but Ryan and Penske denied. Don't know what is up with that. And no updates on Truex either. I know he technically has one more year on his contract and I don't see DEI letting him go since they already lost Martin.
