Funny thing is, I hate all seafood. Gross Gross Gross.

Well that just means more for me because I love ALL seafood!

Believe me, you can handle it. I've had to do some absolutely horrific stuff and you just suck it up and say, "this too shall pass". Usually in the end, its a pretty funny story! And life is always about experiences. Maybe coz you're so averse to seafood you'll be the fastest server out there just to get away from it! :lmao:

Congrats kimluvswdw on the job. and whgrn on the weight loss. :yay:
Shmu glad your DNephew found out what a jerk his ex-gf is now and not later.
M&N and racetrack18kb A TK meet! :dance3:

Just to let you all know. I'll be gone for a week. We are going to California to visit DH's family and to watch the US Open. :wave2: :drive: :beach:

Well, It looks like I have found a job.

I went to at a seafood restaurant at the oceanfront called Fish Bones. I went to fill out an app yesterday and the owner talked to me when I was done. He said everything looked good and he would call me over the weekend to tell me what day next week they would be doing the training. He said he was hiring a total of 3 servers and he wants all of us to train at the same time.

I do not want to do this long term. I am still holding out hope for a job in an office with better hours so I can see my family sometimes.

Kim

Note to self: Dinner at Fish Bones on Kims first night!! :rotfl:

Congrats!!!!! You know I am still keeping an eye out here too! How fun would that be?????

Don't pay the tax man.

Isn't that a song? Wait, I think that's the ferryman. :lmao:

:rotfl2: :rotfl: Oh but like I told DS if I didn't they wanted my first born son.:lmao:

Awww....come on! OF COURSE I'm going to wear a fluffy dress and a tiara! Actually, I may wear my Minnie Ears with veil that I have. We're going to a dive bar for margaritas and then to a burlesque show. Crazy times ahead!

Boo! I hate the tax man too. Run far, far away!

Okay sounds like some crazy times this weekend, be careful and have fun!!!

Lots to comment on... lets see...

Disney54us - Hi! And, I am trying to trust my instincts. Things were much calmer at drop off today and when DH dropped off yesterday, so I feel a little better.

Whgrn - Glad everyone seems to be doing alright. I love M&Ns "smilie biography" of you.

Glad to hear your getting use to it:goodvibes. The parent's have the hardest time:confused3.

Just a quick "hi":wave2: hope all of ya'll faired well with the bad weather up north.
Hershey Park sounds like fun. DH was just talking about that last night at dinner. He is from Ohio and his mom is from PA she wants to take DD there some time soon.

DD has graduated from Elementary School today:cool1: On to Middle School:scared1:

party: Congrat's to DD on her graduation!!!! Oh those Middle school years.
8 days  can't wait to hear and see all about it!!!!

Afternoon!! I can never get on here in the morning. Just way too hectic here in the morning.

whgrn-you got to stop writing so much...I can't keep up and it's only been a 1/2 day. :lmao: Glad things went well for DD yesterday. You really are a local. Doesn't September seem so far away? I can't wait though. I think I'm going to have to get new memory card for the camera. Lots and lots of pics to be taken. Have fun when DSis comes home. DH feels the same way when he get to see his brother and he only lives in Tampa.

disney54us-yep, missed you again. My fault...but I really did try to get on here. See ya later...maybe? :rotfl: And you are not the only one who hates pics of herself. Right there with ya, that's why I always have the camera on vacation. :goodvibes My kids are the ones done with school already. Yesterday was the last day but they go back in August. They use to start after Labor Day and I liked that much better. There is a large fair here that runs the week before Labor Day and I use to be able to take the kids during the day when there are no crowds. Can't do that anymore, so we don't really go anymore. Kinda miss it too.
Oh now we will have to keep trying. Wow your kids are done! well I guess your summer has begone, which then if your not making lunches and getting the kids ready for school I will see you tomorrow in the am:lmao:. My DN's always started school in the middle of August and were out right after Memorial Day weekend. They grew up in the mid west, I don't think I would like it my summer's not over until Tuesday night after Labor Day and I slowly b/c very sad and down that it's over :worried: You would think I would be the one that had to go to school the next day:confused3. DS is done the 17th:sad: that will be a sad day. DD well she's been done, not officially but she's working from home but hers is done the 13th.
Give me a week or two of them being board and I'll be going .

:cool1: :worship: way to go, don't worry it's something for right now until you find something you want.

Hi pepper, glad you stopped by!!! Whgrn ,you are making me tired with all the exercise, since you do so much of it can a 1/8 count for what I'm not doing???? Oh Magikitty we want pic's of this weekend hot in the city
funfeast::yes::.
After IRS stopped at the Container Store don't know if guys have any around your way. Big Huge with everything to organize your life. Real Simple usually uses there stuff when they have layouts for how to orginize anything from your pantry to the trunk of your car. Anyway, not that I was buying :worried: not after paying the tax man. But it was great and all there stuff for traveling made me want to go to Disney. They have Braggalini's on sale so Pikester I know you got yours but anyone interested check it out. I think you can buy on line.
Okay toodles, need to cancel DD's dentist appointment for Saturday, no way can she have 3 hours worth of work in her condition. I really should put the couple of dishes in the DW, but I was being lazy.
Tomorrow is 'fun day' at DS's school, oh so racerchick, cancel that AM meeting I will be there helping out I hope he has a gold t shirt, better check. It's gold teams and Blue teams (School colors), of course if he was on the blue team that would not be a problem.

I am such a doody-head. I completely misled all of you. The wicked bachelorette party is next Saturday. I seem to have lost track of days. This weekend we are making music playlists for the reception and making goody bags and centerpieces. Not nearly as much fun, but fun nonetheless! I think I may wear my tiara anyway!

What goodies awaiting in the mailbox! Free undies, free deodorant, free picture book, and my husband David Cook! I frequent the freebie board and today is the mother lode! I'm going to start using the deodorant in prep for the wedding. The picture book was a promo from Shutterfly, and David and the undies....well you can figure that out! Seriously, it was my ticket to the concert! I put in a wonderfully safe place....with the undies.

Hee, hee! Nah, I put the undies away for the trip in September (after I see my husband David Cook). I just found out why he's not in the news as of late, he has a week off before prepping for the tour that starts this month. I hope he's being faithful to me...

Congrats

You'll do great!

So much to comment on and my brain is fried. :hyper:
I will pop in and lurk between wash/dry cycles
.
I'm at that "too early to pack stuff but haven't really decided what to bring anyways" stage-so I will just wash everything until I can decide.

Kim - Congrats on the job! See, I told you the phone would ring soon (or a manager would hire you on the spot. )
cool1.gif

Sorry about your brown lawn. You can have some of our rain. We got 2 inches this am. More on the way.

Bopsmom - Congrats on DD graduating to jr high. Oh the fun times ahead. :scared1:
Now keep your head together :hyper: as you get ready for your trip.

DL55 - Have a good time in Cali!

Afternoon!! I can never get on here in the morning. Just way too hectic here in the morning.
lighttech-oh yeah, you gotta check out those coasters for me. Have to come up with a touring plan, you know. :rotfl2: But even though you can't do the coasters, there is just so many other things to do. That's why I always like it there. Hope you have a great time. And be careful. Heat wave comming on through.
.

I agree. I love Hershey for just that reason. Its just a nice place to walk around... although, I know we couldn't have picked a crazier day w/ the heat. 97 and thunderstorms :scared1: As it is, I'm starting to make my own hormonal heatwaves w/ this pregnancy. :rotfl: (Actually, I can't complain too much yet... but I hear from others who've done this in summer that its going to be a VERY long August.)

Well, It looks like I have found a job.

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: It may not be ideal, but HOORAY for you. Its something to get by until the next big thing comes along.

:rotfl2: At least you won't gain weight from being around food all day! :rotfl2:

Have a blast! One of my friends does the set up and lighting of a bunch of those big 'ol tents they have around the greens. He just finished up in San Diego.

I try to edit quotes so my posts won't be too long, but your whole post was just too funny. :lmao: :rotfl2: I don't know which part to even comment on.

Very cool freebies though... the undies sounds suspicious :rolleyes1 but a free photo book! That's great!

I used to hit the Budget board and the freebie threads, but I've just run out of time... its the most I can do to keep up w/ you!

Although... I do have one or two to share that I can post here.

Anybody like Blizzards? ::yes:: If you go to Dairy Queen's website and sign up for the Blizzard fan club, you get a coupon e-mailed to you. I think its a BOGO on Blizzards.

Also, I don't know if this is all Chick-Fil-A's or just ours, but the one near me is doing free breakfasts on Wednesday mornings in June, and if the kids take Dad for breakfast on Saturday the 14th, Dad breakfast is free.

Take care guys!

Speaking of Dads... Anybody got any good ideas for Father's Day? I'm stumped on a gift for DH this year... :confused3

Would love some father's day ideas for DH too. Nothing expensive and maybe homemade. ;)

 DL55...everyone be safe and have an awesome time on your getaway!

Lighttech...ride those hormones all you want, sweetie. You completely deserve it. Glad to hear that you're having a good pregnancy. You can just enjoy the park from a new perspective (hopefully including enough chocolate for all of us!)

When's Father's Day? Next weekend? I'm going to have behave myself at the festivities the night before if I"m to celebrate the paternal one. We just eat somewhere, food always makes him happy. I may get some car cleaning paraphenalia--that seems to be the latest hobby.

My nephew always sends me a Mother's Day card from my cats. I wonder if its too much to send a Father's Day card to Bf from the furry babies. That could be really funny, or rather disturbing...

Hey guys,

So I decided to come in to my "support group" and tell you my not so good news. My Dad just called and he said they have indeed found malignant strands in his lung biopsy...Not sue what that means, but I don't think it is good. My Dad is positive about it and said that they told him it is not time to panic yet...it's not good, but it is not time to panic yet.

Tomorrow he has to go for a breathing test and if all goes well there they are going to remove the fluid they found around his lung with a needle (i know yuck). If that does not have any traces of cancer then our options are better.

Hopefully it will turn out as well as it did with my FIL back in December. My Dad is calmer than I am (although I did not break his positive attitude rule...that would have made him mad)

To be honest I am a wreck right now. shaky hands etc. My Mom is a mess too, but my Dad says he is not ready to go "sky diving" or ride a bull named "Foo man choo". He said with his luck he would probably break his leg...remember my Dad gets through everything with humor.

Okay, thanks for letting me get it out guys.

Racechickiiegirl- I'm probably going to wind up needing that email support lol. Right now though I don't even know what to say, ask etc...I'm just kinda numb. I made the mistake of going on a website for lung cancer....bad idea... it had a lot of peoples pictures that had not survived. I think I will refrain from those sites for now.

Oh Pepper, Big hugs out to you and your family at this stressful time. I cannot even imagine the multitudes of emotions you must be experiencing. My prayers go out to you. While the presence of malignant cells is not the best of news, perhaps it is still localized and will be able to removed. There are miracles of modern medicine, and while malignant always seems like so much, there are a multitude of treatments to consider, as well as the character of the malignant cells themselves.

At this time, just know that I am thinking of you and hoping to send bundles of warm wishes and good luck your way.

Note to self: Dinner at Fish Bones on Kims first night!! :rotfl:

Thanks and I really do appreciate it.

I am sorry to hear about your dad. I see people all the time at my Hemo-Oncologist office. They always say to think positive thoughts and pray. I hope everything works out ok. What doctor does he see? I see Dr. Alberico at Virginia Oncology.

You know what? I don't know....He is a pulmanary Dr. out of Obisi Hospital (Remember my parents had the wild hair and moved to the country)

I agree about the positive thoughts.

Thank you Magikitty! You have no idea how much better you just made me feel. I am so dumb when it comes to these things. I went back and was reading our old thread when I was talking to you guys about my FIL and his situation seemed so bleak at the time. He is now 100% better. The word I used then was "malignant mass". I wonder what the difference is?

Kim-that's good news about the job. I'm with MagiKitty on this one...mmmmm seafood.
eat.gif

MagiKitty-I check out the budget board all the time too. I love the freebie thread but I haven't checked it out for a while. Going to have to again since our trip is getting closer. I'll tell you though, there are some real interesting threads over there. Was reading one yesterday about people who get reduced/free lunch for their children but yet have money to buy DVC. :scared1: Don't mean to offend anyone but I just think that is wrong.

pepper-oh, I didn't mean I'm playing the waiting game right now. Sorry I wasn't clear. My mom was diagnosed last August for the 3rd time.
