Wow guys, you all made some great points last night, I'm sorry I was not here to chat with everyone. Makes me proud to be a TK'r!!! I forgot who said it, maybe Magsden- Was that you that said we should still be on the welcome board? I totally agree. I miss it over there. I had never even been to the community board until then...no wait I take it back I used to go play the word games...but other than that I didn't. I am waaayyy to chicken to post on most of the threads on the community board. I try to keep it light at least. I avoid the political ones like the plague lol. I read em' though.

Hey Killers!!

I'm home!!! YAY!!! No more horrific hospital food!!! And guess what? I DON'T have to stay in bed until Monday!!! i am allowed to sit up in my chair, and to walk around. So I can use my laptop!!! Woohooo!!!!

Of course, my next question (which I asked and am waiting for a call back with the answer) was, "can I go to my aunt's funeral?" I mean, it involves sitting in a car, sitting in a chair, and a little bit of walking and standing. I really really really want to go. So we'll see what the good doctor says...

Surgery was a breeze. i remember seeing 7:45 am, and they put a mask on me and told me to take deep breaths. I was chatting to the doc, and started feeling woozy. I asked if he gave me something and he winked at me. So I said, "well, i should say goodbye then! See ya!" Next thing I knew it was about 9:00 and it was all over! I was in recovery forever--they had to wait for a bed. Got to my room about 2. I'd had pain in recovery, but by 2 it was gone, and I've been fine ever since. I have a HUGE dressing over my whole abdomen, it's like body armor or something! And it says, in big letters, "DO NOT TOUCH DRESSING" I guess they wanted to be sure the message got through! The doctor said it went great, and he'll see me Monday for the "unveiling". I can hardly wait. And then, last night on Grays Anatomy, they did a skin graft!! So I got to see sort of what they did to me, which was way cool. The residents laughed--they all watched it too!!

Anyway, I'm thrilled to be home. Thanks for all of your good wishes and your cheers for DMom. She does ROCK! Best mom ever!

lighttech, that cake ROCKS!!! Absolutely amazing. I can't believe the talent of you all on here! Master Gardners, cake decorators, sheesh! I think my talent must be recovering from surgery. Or is that a hobby?

hey wendy! so great to hear from you, and nice that you'll be back on your feet, so to speak, sooner than planned. that must mean it went better than they anticipated, right?

i hope they'll let you go to your aunt's funeral. i know that sounds a little weird, but i KNOW it will mean so much to you and your family.

pretty funny about gray's! i tivo'd it but didn't get to watch it yet - maybe tonight. i only started watching last year, but i LOVE it. i have to say McDreamy and McSteamy make it hard not to love that show!

anyway, great to hear you're doing well - get a TON of rest; just because you can sit up and stuff, doesn't mean you should do it too much. sorry, it's the mother in me!

Well, my DS managed to break his glasses only 3 days after getting them. So we are headed back to the optical store after school.
How do boys manage to break something that is catagorized as indistructable?

I checked in at school and tried to post but it got stuck and was taking forever so I'm making a quickie post. Had to check on Wendy and was so to see she had made her own post! You know the Killers are behind you all the way.
I had told you I was volunteering this am at one of my former schools. As I was playing with the kids, the principal asked me if I would be a sub for the librarian. she had a family emergency and needed to go. I said sure so she went and checked with the district. They use a substitute teacher service to get subs and they had to be called. Now I need to go there Monday and really sign up so I can get paid. I would have done it for nothing but $ is $. I just had to man the station in the morning for 2 groups and had 3 classes this afternoon. It was fun. I got all the perks (cupcake-not a fancy one- and 2 cookies and a milkshake) and none of the planning, correcting/grading, or shelving. What a job. But it helps to know the kids and after all it was my library just last year! I do not want it back.
Have a great weekend. I told mom she had to hold dinner---I was making money.

Hi pikester, so glad you decided to stay, really this is the best thread, but as you have read we have had some drama losing one of our killers. I was hoping you didn't get scared away.

When I planted I thought of dreamin, we are more then a thread we have come so far and been through a lot with each other Good times and sharing,
Like all of us having a herb garden scary times with health scares, funny stories and cake pic's dreamin you had the best stories. Oh and so many other things that if went back and read this thread we would be surprised. I think this thread is like a great book you want to keep turning the page! You never know what is next and you can't put it down.
Sorry guys but something about the seeds just made me and sentimental, I think b/c it was something we shared and we were no longer just a bunch of 'virtual friends' or as dreamin's DH likes to tease her about her 'pretend friends'.

OMG you all are NOT gonna believe what I just saw on the news!!!! The hospital where I was until 11 am today had a BOMB SCARE and evacuation at 11:30 am today!! Just 30 minutes after I left!!!

DMom just said "you are NOT going back to that hospital!" I'm inclined to agree. This place is is beautiful downtown Newark, NJ, the murder capital of the northeast. I've never had a problem in the 6 years I've been going there, but this was just a bit too close for comfort!!

I am SOOOO glad I'm home!!

Hey everyone! So glad to see you back so soon whgrn, and that you're recovery has gone so well and so quickly. That's so awesome! But how scary (and somehow lucky) that you got out of the hospital when you did. I totally agree, Newark can get downright scary!

Hmm...I don't know about reaching page 250. Does that mean we lose all this one when we switch---or does this thread get retire and go to "thread heaven"? I think I remember someone asking a Mod and said that we would not be closed without notice. I hope they guide us through it all. (Can we start back at the Welcome board?).

D&D...how did the glasses go? I must say, I'm impressed. I wore glasses for 18 years and never broke a pair!

I wasn't able to get to the computer yesterday. We had to take out tent trailer in for some recall work. Trying to get out of the driveway we managed to bend one of our stabilizer jacks! At least we were already heading to the RV repair shop.
I think when the thread gets to that magic number the mods will close it but not delete it. We'll just have to start another one.

Just dropped DS off w/ SIL and BIL for the night so DH and I can go to a wedding. DS is thrilled b/c BILs folks are down visiting (they live far, but have no grandkids, so they've sort of adopted DS) and they are all outside gardening (aka digging in the dirt.)

Hope everyone is well, and from the little I skimmed, glad WHGRN is back at home and doing well and OUT OF NEWARK!
