BopsMom--Thanks for the offer, but I'll pass. I'd just kill them. Can't add anything else to my plate for the moment. I'll just enjoy hearing about everybody else's progress.

Great advice for teaching.:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

SB sounds fun. I need one, but sadly don't think I'll get one this year.

Keep praying for us in GA and everyone around. I haven't seen a lot of the news but a friend called me who has. So many things are closed in Atlanta. Curious about how Monday will go.

And, more storms are heading our way. More powerful than last night.

Glad my basement is almost finished. I think we'll be staying down there for protection.

I'll check in later.:hippie:

Shmu,
I have moms and kids coming all week. The mom's are bringing the dinner and we are having the kids swim. DH has put a lock on the wine cellar! Last SB he was living in SanDiego and was sending home wines we couldn't get in TX-he collects wine. I took a picture of all my BFF's with the bottles in their hands and shopped straws into the bottles; then sent him the picture. He thought we'd cleaned him out.:rotfl:

So Lighttech you're an Easter baby too.

So are DD and I (27thDD and 29th me) I was born on Good Friday:lmao: whodathunkit. Did you get dresses for your birthday when you were young? I always thought it blew to get new dresses for my bday since I was gonna get a new Easter dress anyways!

Congrats on college!:thumbsup2 Here is the best advice I got when getting my own teaching cert.- "don't turn your back on them paleface!":lmao:

For a birthday a year ago I took DH and had a spa day with him. It was fun.

More later!:flower3:

Well HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! to you and DD as well. I wasn't much of a dress wearer as a little girl, so no I don't remember getting a lot of dresses. It was all boys in the neighborhood, so I wasn't officially a tom-boy (still had my barbies and such) but anytime I played, I was busy climbing through the woods and playing cops and robbers (or Star Wars) and getting pretty darn dirty.

That's cool that DH collects wine. We've recently started playing around w/ making our own. Only 3 batches so far. One got some nasty little bacterias in it and turned, so we lost that. But, the first was quite tasty, and the third shows some promise... its still very young... not even bottled yet. And you wouldn't believe how many bottles you can get from one batch (very cheap indulgence for the casual wine-o).

:rotfl: :rotfl: Love the teaching advice... I'll have to keep that in mind if I can ever manage to get back to school. I have worked w/ kids in children's theatre (one of my favorite jobs ever) and I can definitely vouch for the validity of the advice!!! Seriously, how many spiders can little boys find in an old theatre!?!?!

Hi everyone!
Glad blame my sister has returned. Hopefully the weather will get better.
Glad Shmu is still ok, but be careful
:bday: (early) to lighttech. Bopsmom and her DD!
lighttech enjoy your night out.
dream in pa that sign :snooty: :sad2:
Good luck to those of you going or planning on going to college! :cheer2:
I didn't ask for the seeds because I have a brown thumb :sad1: and the desert heat and dryness makes it difficult tp grow anything.
We just had our first big wind of the spring and our shelter is still there! :yay:

Thinking of you and everyone down there in Atlanta. (I've been at work all day, so I haven't seen the news, but I've heard snippets here and there.) I hope everybody gets thru the storm as well as can be expected. Good luck w/ your basement camp-out! Check in w/ us when you can re-surface just to let us know everybody is o.k.! :flower3:

It all seems to be in the title. Although, I've had the same experience.

A few times I've been tempted to "bump" myself. :lmao: Just to see if it gets noticed a second time around... (And to make that little "0" under replies go away... Darn you little zero. :rotfl2: )

Whaddya' wanna bet this is the thread that takes off? 5 months from now it'll pop back up to the top w/ its 300th page. :rotfl:

C'mon everybody! Keep it going. We will break the thread killer stigma!

Just doing a little reminiscing. I found my first post on page 1 of the new Threadkillers Unite thread. I skimmed it for fun, and realized we're semi (ok, maybe a little behind) on track for my prediction. (maybe I'm psychic  ) We have about 1 month to do about 100 pages... with the way things have been going the past few days, I think we can do it. :surfweb: :rotfl:

C'mon ladies (and gentleman) lets buckle down, get that coffee going, limber up those typing fingers and get to page 300! (Gosh, I'm cracking myself up today... Its been a morning filled w/ antsy producers and "high profile" guests, I'm a little loopy.)

I was very worried about an hour ago.
One of my very best friends was right in the middle of BAD storms. Tornados were spotted.:scared1:
I called her to warn her because they don't have tv.
While on the phone, she said it was very bad and scary.
She just called though and it has passed and blue sky is out.:goodvibes
I hope the worst is over. I can't seem to get off the net though. I keep checking the weather.
Good news is I am catching up on some DIS time.

I'll keep checking in.:hippie:

Just a mindless post to help reach that goal.

Come on Thread Killers.
We can do it.
:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Mindless recipes.

It's 85 degress and sunny. The pool water is 70(still too cold to swim). I have been chopping some herbs. Those that have the pamphlet know that cilantro bolts to seed when roots reach consistant 75 degrees so I don't have long to go. When ya'll start yours outside I will have to be growing mine in the the AC.

I am making salsa while the sun shines:goodvibes

Note:DH is from Springfield OH, home of Rothschild Berry Farm. MIL always sends me a care package from them. I love their recipes and playing around with the sauces. I found RedPepper/Onion relish. It's kinda sweet but here is the recipe for today.

2 cans rinsed and drained black bean (love black beans!)
2 cans drained sweet corn
1/4 cup chopped purple onions
1/4 cup chopped cilantro
1/2 jar of Rothchild's RedPepper/Onion relish

Yummy!
Making/Taking this to the Easter BBQ next week.!

I also make black bean chili for lunch a lot
1 can Black Beans
2 cans sliced/stewed tomatoes
6 TBS Pace Picante sauce

High protein,low cal.:thumbsup2
Yummy too!
put a dollop of sour cream or plain yogurt on top!

Going back outside!

Thanks.

I'm glad your friend is o.k. We've only had tornados here a very few times (knock wood). But, its very scary weather. The worst I've seen personally was a few years back when we had "straight winds." I'd never heard of them before, but essentially, the wind doesn't bounce around, it just runs thru in the same direction. It can gather a lot of force that way and become hurricane strength. There was a lot of damage then b/c we had had a very wet couple of weeks. The trees couldn't hold onto the wet soil. We had 3 come down on the house. We were very blessed that no one was hurt, and (according to the contractor) they came down on the most structurally sound portion of the house. We needed a new roof and had some water damage, but all in all, we made out as best as we could have. I had a really hard time w/ storms for a while after that. I can't imagine how scary it is to deal w/ really dangerous storms. Be careful.

Shmu - Glad you are ok. Praying for all those in Atlanta. Luckily no serious injuries so far. Congrats on going back to school for :teacher: You'll love it. We need good teachers, especially in Special Ed.

Magikitty - Get that throat checked asap!! My sore throats always end in strep.

:bday: to Bopsmom and DD and lighttech. My DS9 will be 10 on the 3/31.

As far as getting to pg. 300, won't we get cut off at 250???:confused3 I think the thread count limit is 250 now. So as we get closer we'll have to think about starting a new thead. Funny that you mentioned looking back at old posts on pg 1. I was going to do that too. My how we've grown!!! (or in some cases lost weight  )

It's pizza / movie night at our house today. We're watching Bee Movie and making our own individual pizzas to enjoy. popcorn:: Then we'll bring out the popcorn too. I wanted to rent August Rush, but it was gone. :guilty: Also wouldn't be a movie the whole family would like.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone (and the birthday wishes too.)

We actually have plans now and I'm so excited!! I just randomly called a friend of mine from college that moved to Allentown recently (about 1hr30min from us.) We've been trying to plan a get together for weeks. (I haven't seen her in about 2 years.) And, we've failed miserably. So, rather than try to find an event or concert or movie to attend, I just called her up and said "What are you doing? We have a babysitter."

We're going to meet 1/2 way and have dinner w/ her and her husband. Now I just need to find a good restaurant somewhere between West Chester, PA and Allentown, PA.

Anyone live near Boyertown, PA and have a favorite restaurant?
Can't help w/suggestions, but great news have fun!!!

Keep praying for us in GA and everyone around. I haven't seen a lot of the news but a friend called me who has. So many things are closed in Atlanta. Curious about how Monday will go.

Get out, okay lets get to work Killer's, by the way when I was talking to DM last night and she knows I go on the Dis boards, but when I said something about the dis boards and my 'killers' she says in that voice that sounds worried "why do you call yourself killers?":rotfl2: :lmao:. I explained it was all good:thumbsup2. Ooh, don't want you to post publicly, who the "high profile" guest were, you never know you may be lurking:scared1:, but I will have to check it out!!!

Shmu,
I hope ya'll are ok. Just saw the news.
I didn't send you seeds, would you like some too? PM me if you do.

I have kids coming over-we're heating the pool for Spring Break so I have a lot of volunteers.:goodvibes to collect and package seeds. Can you say child labor!:cool1:

Since we decided not to go anywhere we are spending the $$ on the gas to heat the pool. It works out about even!

SB sounds like fun and to funny about the wine cellar and the pic's:rotfl2:, your DH must have a good sense of humor, or he knows your antic's :thumbsup2.

I think it depends on their rule of the day:rotfl:, and what big upgrade they are doing, anybody getting those notifications?. Well a very happy (early) Birthday wish to your DS, that's my Dad's b-day, though he has passed we still 'celebrate' it every year at our (and his) favorite restaurant. So 3/31 a wonderful day for a b-day:thumbsup2

I must have had caffeine or something because it's 12:50 here and I am still awake. Wide awake.
Glad to see you back BlameMySister.

I know I've been missing in action a lot lately.
I'll give you a Cliff Note version of what we have been up to.

Working on the basement--Almost completely finished. I'll post pics in my PTR when it's finished.
I have officially been accepted into college. Going back to get my teaching degree.
Helping DS finish his schooling. (Remember, we home school. He will finish this year.)
DD wants to finish early so I have been working on getting her stuff together so she can graduate next year.
Taxes for our business and personal account. (Hate this)
DH did a radio show on a very small radio station near us to promote our business.:woohoo: (He was really funny)

BopsMom that was so sweet for you to send some of your stuff out.
We have truly become close in here haven't we.

I am getting Spring Fever. The weather has been great here in GA most of the week. DD even wore long shorts to school one day. (She goes 3 days a week to take the classes I don't teach her.)
My tulips are getting taller. I'll take pictures when they bloom.
Trees are blooming and flowers are coming up.
Just in time for Easter.

I guess I should try and go to sleep so I'll sign off now.
Talk to ya tomorrow.:hippie:

Good for you! I could never be a teacher! Not enough patience. I used to teach Sunday school and hated that even. And my DMom is a retired 1st grade teacher (34 years!!) Go figure...

MIL agreed to babysit tonight, and DH wants to take me out for an early birthday. (My birthday actually falls ON Easter this year, so we'll be occupied that day.) It was kind of last minute, so we have no plans, and its been SOOOO long since we've had a "night on the town."

I can't even figure out what I want to do. I've been trying to check out any events in the Philadelphia area and suburbs, but so far I'm uninspired. What do you guys do when you get a free night out? :confused3

OMG!!! I think I forgot how to be an adult w/ free time!!! :scared1: :scared1:

Happy Birthday! (To all of you with b-days coming up) My free time seems to always be taken up with chores, errands, etc. I actually thought about a pedicure today, but didn't have the time. Someday...

Pedicure sounds good:thumbsup2, it on my list of things to do when I'm done doing for everyone else:sad2:. Haven't had one since I broke my feet, though when I was off my feet, hec what else did I have to do?? Gave myself a great one, the foot doc thought my toes looked great:rotfl:. Still nothing beats someone else massaging and doing a foot scrub:thumbsup2.

34 years is a long time. My dad retired from the Atlanta City School system last year. For his safety, I am glad he is not there anymore. He is happily working at Home Depot.:rotfl:

OK, It got really scary here for a while. Another line of storms came right through Atlanta and where we live. We watched on tv a live tornado going through the city. We heard sirens go off in neighboring cities of where we live. They predicted down to the minute that a HUGE storm was going to hit where we live with 3 inch hail. We headed to the basement and only got a few showers. Never even got dark. We were right in the middle and nothing hit us.:confused3 I feel very fortunate.

That is bad...so glad you are all ok. We've gotten a tornado up here once that I can remember. I was still a kid when it happened. It wasn't very big but I remember driving past the cornfield where it went through and you could see the line with the cornstalks torn out. I couldn't even imagine living with the almost constant threat of a full-scale tornado.

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: Scary. Glad you were protected.

Sorry to double post but trying to do my part in getting the page count up. :lmao: Has anyone given thought to what we would call out new thread? I thnk we discussed this long ago but was there any decision?

Ok, we've been peeping stepmom all week. We have been mixing up the times that they appear in her house so that someone else gets blamed. She's going crazy trying to figure it out. She hasn't accused me yet because I have yet to just walk into her house. Even if she knows what time I am suppose to go to her house and she tells me just to come in, I still won't. And of course, they have been appearing right after dad has been home for break. So, he is high on her suspect list. :lmao: I suppose I'll have to tell him what's going on since he is on vacation next week. Here's pics of 2 of them we left for her...

On Easter, we are going to present her with a photo album filled with all of Bopsmom's Peeps Corps pictures followed by all the pictures we took in her house. I know I'm going to get "smacked" for it but it's been worth it so far. :rotfl2:

:scared1: Good thing for that basement, and aren't you the one doing a beach theme? I'm sure that's not what you had in mind when you were thinking water:confused3. What shocked me about the Atlanta situation, is I always felt those in the danger zone for hurricanes/tornado's are prepared. They have the warnings well ahead, and the whistles, hec we don't get that here:confused3. Just after the fact the weather peeps, taking 15 out of the 30 min news telling us we could have been hit with????

Dreaminpa, I quoted in the middle of your quote:confused3 duh me, so I deleted your multi quote, if any of this makes sense:confused:.

Well, there you are. Were the kids having there weekend hog fest on the computer???:rotfl2: Just, joking I know you mentioned it's there time on the weekends since you limit them during the school week. Or maybe you were on the Wegman's web, see anything good?? Hey, have you seen anything good on airfair? PM me let me know, thanks.
It's been so long that I've been on on a Sat. night and can just kick back:thumbsup2
Thank goodness you are all ok. Sending prayers your way that everyone stays safe down there.[/QUOTE]

Okay and from the preview I could see this is all messed up:confused3 , The last half of my post belongs in my response to Shmu. Don't know how this happen except, I was just about to go:yay: that I could change the font and color on your name dreamin. Well I guess that will teach me to mess w/anything:sad2:.

Evening everyone...I didn't get a lick of laundry done today and I don't feel guilty about it. I didn't do anything more spectacular, just decided I didn't want to do it. There's always tomorrow, or the next day....

Shmu, so glad to hear that you and everyone wasn't affected by the terrrible weather. Thank goodness! And I LOVED August Rush--highly recommend it.

dreaminpa...those pictures are so funny. The photo album idea is priceless.

Bopsmom...thanks for the recipe!

Happy Birthday everyone! Gosh, this is a busy time of year!
