I like to be by the HH also, especially we don't come in w/a car. I like to be able to walk over to Olivia's or the General store. We have never stayed at VWL, in all our years, but I know they have quite a fan club and I hear you have to check it out at Christmas, so I plan on doing that this year:goodvibes. Thanks for the #'s I was going to give it a try but since it's going on 5 they are gearing for dinner I'll wait till later.

Dreamin, I guess your kids are hogging the computer:rotfl:, it is the weekend, I guess they need a chance too:confused3:rotfl:. I'm sure you'll be checking in later in the PM.

Magsden, see everyone agrees, you can do it!!, It's simple, and get the kit b/c they come w/ the brush and you can see if you like it. I don't know if you have Ulta's by you but they always run promo's on the special kits throughout the year. QVC sell's it and I bet you could get someone on here to give you a heads up next time they will be doing it.

hi everyone, i'm not feeling well so i haven't been on really. hopefully i'll be better tomorrow and back to my chatty self.

sleep well!

:faint: :guilty: I've killed us!!!! I miss a few days and everyone is talking, I come back and your all gone:scared1:.
Audisfan, guess what??? Called Olivia's about 8:00pm and a 'Carol' answered, told her that I use to have the recipe from years ago (yadi yadi), asked how long she was there. She told me 16 years, I said of course you remember this:dance3: and she did. They still don't have it back on the menu:sad2:, that could be a whole other thread. She said that chef Mike was there who most likely still new it from making all those years. She took my number and called back in 5 mins.:cheer2: with the ingredients:woohoo:, he just didn't have the measurements. I'm going to play around, with it and I do remember some of the measurements (give or take). So thanks, so much!!! Oh after she said she would call me back I realized that was the name you said you called for the cake, so I told her how I got the number and how someone had said how nice she was, (she said, she's the cake lady). So thank you again, and :cheer2: to Carol CM Olivia's OKW.

Sorry your feeling bad:sick: :sad1:, glad I didn't kill us, must have been posting that while you came on. Here's some:wizard: your way to feeling better.

hey everyone!!!

disney54us-nope, the kids didn't have the computer at all today (I forgot to sign out last night) We were out t.v. shopping all day. After much debate, we finally decided it was time to buy a new one. :woohoo: That's great you got the recipe you were looking for....isn't Disney great. :goodvibes I see communication is lacking at your school too, though not as bad as ours. I'm just glad I'm getting some info from someone.

magsnden- hope you're feeling better soon.

Hey ya'll!

disney54us - I'm so glad Carol could help you!:yay: I'm sure you'll have it figured out in no time. Yes, you definitely need to go check out the Christmas decorations at WL. The whole place is beautiful!

magsnden - hope you feel better soon.:)

Later killers!

Good Morning Killers!!!:cold: it is soooo cold here:sad2:, we finally got hit with real winter weather. The good news is it should go to the 40's by Tuesday or Wed.:thumbsup2. Any body recall what forum there is a thread to give a thank you to CM's??? I know I've seen it, but can't recall what forum it is on. On a sad note, Friday the kids from my DS's school came out with a notification from the Township school board that a middle school student had menegitis. One of the mom's teaches at the HS/MS and said she was not doing well. We heard on the news yesterday that she passed away:sad1:, poor thing was in 7th grade, it was the bacterial type and started as a strep infection. It is so scary to hear these things, the symptoms are all the 'normal' things that kids get sick with especially this time of the year.

 new TV cool, the kids must be thrilled! I'm sure that they didn't care about getting there weekend computer time in if they were getting a new TV:goodvibes. I'm thrilled that I got the recipe, I was becoming a little obsessed:confused3, but I hate to lose a good recipe. I will post when I figure out the measurements. Communication, please they are a Catholic HS, they just pretend that nothing ever happens there:rolleyes1, after all if we worry about how short the uniform skirts are we don't have to pay attention to the big picture:confused3. I have to say that I was shocked when I received the letter of setting up cell phone and email notifications for emergencies. I thought wow, how 21st century of you, considering they still do fire drills but never do lock down drills, my DS in grade school has been prepared better for a lock down. Take your info however you can get it, I still would address the lack of communication w/ the board.

Later killers!

I read on one thread they did a dis meet there since everyone makes it a point to go see there tree and decorations:goodvibes.

good morning! thanks everyone for the well wishes, i'm still under the weather, and what's worse my DH went to work so no help with the kiddies. it looks like i got it from my son, so at least i won't pass it to them.

freeeeeezing here too. :cold: :cold: too cold to snow, though. as you know we're still waiting for a good snow storm for the kids (and us!!).

how very sad about the young girl with meningitis. last week an 8-year old boy on long island died of that too, after 1 day of symptoms. it's just impossible to believe, and can make you question all that you believe in.

well, in a lighter note, i'm glad you got your recipe, disney54us. isn't it nice how the CMs really seem to go out of their way for you? if you find that thread please let us know. when my husband and i were there we went to get a fast pass for soarin'. the time to come back was when we'd be having dinner, so we asked a CM nearby. she checked in her pocket and gave us 2 fastpasses for it to use anytime. she told us just go on it now. she said she doesn't work at this park, but she's a tour guide and had these passes for her group that she wasn't using. so we just walked right on that ride and were able to get a fastpass for test track. it was so nice of her, and we just kept talking about her the whole day. it was like our own little "dream."

ok see you later!

You know, our pedi says she will wait until college to give her son the meningitis vaccine. I had figured on HS, but now they are requiring it for incoming 6th graders next year (middle school). The more I hear about it, the more I think 6th grade might be a good idea. Guess it's time. I don't like to vaccinate my kids against stuff that they are almost certainly not going to be exposed to, but meningitis is real, it's out there, and it can kill you. Not gonna skip this one!!!

Morning! Very cold and windy here too. Counting the days down until spring.

disney54us-I think I heard about that same girl on our local news. New Jersey, right? That is so sad. I couldn't even imagine the pain the family must be going through. I'll keep them in my prayers. About the school district here, I can't wait until we move to get away from this. This district is going down hill fast. 2 years ago, they spend an insane amount of money to fix up the football stadium which is all fine and dandy. Except my local elementary school needed new playground equipment because the old one was torn out because it was unsafe. The parents had to raise the money to put a new one in. Something just isn't right here.

http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=53 here's the link to say thanks to a cm.

Not even going to try and catch up. Forgive me if I have missed anything. Computer has been sick.
:hippie:

magsnden Hope you get well quickly. How nice you had your own little "dream" :cool1:

It's going to around 70 here in the desert. :cool2: Temps are supposed to drop back to normal (cold) for Valentine's Day.

So much to say... I started quoting, but gave up. Here's the first few that I did...

Hey killers!

Finally made it back.

The highlight was my 1 yr old DS getting his 1st haircut at the barber shop on Main St in the MK.:lovestruc He was just so sweet and so cute sitting up there getting a haircut in my favorite place in the whole world. I'm tearing up now just thinking about it. He is the worlds sweetest baby and a real cutie patootie too! he never cried or fussed, just sat there looking at her like "Just what are you doing back there."

Later killers!

We did that with DS in November Even though it wasn't his first cut (I had been doing it) It was his first official, so we did the whole package. SO much fun and too cute.

Ok, now the school situation here. Still no word from the school district and I'm pretty ticked. But stepmom's oldest son works for school district so I'm going by what he says for the moment. There has been a threat made against the school district and the police are involved. According to him, the supposed day of the threat, it is opitional to send you children to school. And there is suppose to extra police presense, including K-9 units, at the school where the word first came down. Nobody knows if this is a hoax but until I know otherwise, I don't think I will be sending my kids to school that day.
So sorry... what a mess. Be careful and good thoughts your way.

hey killers!

i'm going to go check out bare essentials. when i had my hair done for BILs wedding, that's what they used. this is really embarrassing, i never wear make up so i really don't know how to put it on! :guilty: will i be able to figure it out?

ok much more to say, but my son is waking up now. not bad though, 8:15.:woohoo:

Bare Escentuals is the easiest makeup I've ever tried. I love it, and I am far from a makeup genius.

That was so nice. True Disney magic at work. Now, you can get it all figured out and then post it so the rest of us can enjoy w/o any work whatsoever! :rolleyes1

Magsnden - Hope you are feeling better.

And thoughts and prayers to that poor child and her family. (The menengitis case.) Its so scary, and it makes you stop and think. I'm gonna go give give DS a hug right now.

Take care everyone.

Hi All,
I found the thread for thanking a CM. It's called Just Say Thanks. It is located a few threads down from the Community Board.
I'd post a link, but I am not that savy here yet.

Glad everyone is staying warm. We had -30 windchills again this weekend and now we are supposed to get more snow tonight (3-6 inches) and Thurs. (keep up w/ the forcast). It's never a good sign when they say that. Not sure where we're going to put it. I am so ready for spring!!!!!!!

It is very strange and like I said before, it is common symptoms that most Drs. would not be alarmed by. Check post a few down the thanks thread is there!

Ditto, had my concerns about it when DD started HS. Then I was watching, a show and a Dr. discussing the shot, what scared me was when he said that some people could be a carrier and never get it and someone else could get it. That's when I thought I want DD to have it, with her asthma she gets everything coming and going so I thought why risk it. She still hasn't gotten it since the few times she's at the Drs. when she is well enough for any kind of shot they would be out of it. They give priority to kids going to college and playing sports, then the other times she's there she's too sick:sick: for shots. Glad to see your hand is healing and your typing away:thumbsup2 :goodvibes.

Thanks, for the link!!! so glad all you TK's have the 411 on all things dis boards. Please the almighty football fields! Don't get me started on how my DD's school does this huge and expensive fundraiser Dinner/silent auction every May. The money has put lights on the field they have redone the field and put up new fences. The Field was the cover story of the summer newsletter you get the picture, the school has no A/C (I know many don't), but you think you could buy some fans??? It is like 90 on the 3rd floor in that place, while administration sits in there A/C offices and wonder's why kids are going down to the nurses office. My DD can't breath that well to begin with add 90 heat and no air movement?? hello, so much for priorities:confused3.

Not even going to try and catch up. Forgive me if I have missed anything. Computer has been sick.

Thanks a bunch, I'll check it out. Here's a little:sunny: hope comes your way. I will shut up about the cold now, hope you have a snow blower!

Just checking in. So much happens over the weekend. Sick cars, sick Killers, sick computers, dead mouse. Hope everyone is doing better. Glad we had some good stories to share too with found kitty and first haircuts.
We're in for :cold: :cold: weather. I had a good weekend because I love NASCAR and my fav driver won the Bud Shootout....Dale Jr changed car numbers and sponsors so it was hard to keep up with him on the track. He was in a neat commercial for AMP energy drink where he's carrying a camel. Much better commercial than those in super bowl.
Anyone have special plans for Valentine Day?

Anyone have special plans for Valentine Day?
I don't think I posted this on this thread, I think I posted it on a TR I'm reading. Just forgive me if I'm repeating myself.
Anyway, about the Valentine's question.
DH ordered a teddy bear with chocolates and three roses to send to our DD at her school she goes to 3 days a week. (Remember we home school, but she takes classes at this school set up for home schoolers.)
I would love to see her face when she receives these. She is going to flip and possibly cry.
I plan on taking DS out for a surprise Japanese lunch. (He loves Japanese food)
When the kids become teens it becomes more of a "Single Awareness Day" instead of Valentine's Day.
We are just trying to help.

Valentines Day? What's that?

Oh, yeah, that obnoxious holiday where I have to browbeat my kids to sign silly cards for all the kids in their class?

THANK GOD they've passed that stage!!!

I don't celebrate Valentine's Day, haven't in 7 years. No "sweetie", no need.

Gosh, am I a total downer or what?:lmao:
