Oh no need to apologize. Yeah, sometimes dad is clueless and I know for sure he sometimes has blinders on. And I know he really wants my brother to go with us since the last time we went as a family, my brother was at the age that he was too cool for Disney. Since they are a package deal now, I guess we'll make the best of it. We have a year to plan, maybe I can get her involved in some part of it to keep her happy.

I read your trip report the other day. Sound like my kids who would be happiest about some obscure thing after "all that money I spent". My kids alway bug me about staying at the Nick hotel and the commercials make it look out of this world. But I had looked at the prices and just couldn't bring myself to pay that much for a hotel. Now I can my kids it's not everything you see on t.v.

Wow, it seems that Monday hit us all quite hard.

In terms of family dynamics, I come from a big extended family too, and despite past experiences, we STILL haven't learned not to spend too much time together. In turn, we've taken the stance, that there wil be fighting, someone will get upset, and someone may cry. But we're family, and we just try our best. With a year time frame, you have plenty of time to prepare and set expectations for everyone's part. Perhaps if your SIL is outnumbered, she'l accomodate anyone. Especially with a little one around, she should thinking of making memories first and foremost.

I absolutely have no idea what to tell you, disney54us, what to do. I think you're gone above and beyond your means in trying to fix this. Someone will get back to you and this wil all be settled. (fix your account! free your foot!)

I've been absent most of the day and like my mom used to say when we were little, "if they're quiet, they're up to no good!" Well, I was....

(Oh goodness, I may know how to post pics, but they are way too big. let me try to figure this out too)

Its not as nice as the one at Disneyshopping, but I'm awful proud of myself! And with minimal bloodshed! (there was a teeny incident with floral wire). Best of all, I got everything at our local dollar store. I did two wreaths for $11!

ooh, I learned about becoming a moderator today. You know we were all wondering about it. And I think we got the bestest one!

hey everyone!
i just noticed that there have been almost 9900 views to our thread and only about 680 posts. weird. are people too afraid of us!?

i'm going through disney withdrawal, we have no plans right now to go back :( what am i going to do??

I have a confession, I've turned into ... a thread killer lurker :guilty:

I've enjoyed reading all your posts, but there are so many to acknowledge, that I can't keep up!

This is still the nicest place on the DIS :thumbsup2 Please forgive me for lurking :flower3:and know that I still enjoy being on the threadkilling team :cheer2:

Did I mention next week at this time I'll be in Disney?!?

MagiKitty, your wreath looks wonderful. You got everything you needed at the dollar store?!? I just may have to take a drive out there tomorrow and see what the have here. I don't have a crafty bone in my body but I'm sure DD11 could make that for me. She just loves that kind of stuff.

buffalogirl, have fun on your trip and give us all the details when you get back. I have a long, long wait until my next trip.

MagiKitty- I LOVE your wreath!!! You did a great job!! :santa:

Your wreath is beautiful.:thumbsup2 :cool1: I would be proud of myself too!

I'm glad you have minimal bloodshed-I might need some-I'm O+:rotfl2: .
I've been making beaded ornaments with DD, you know the ones with dressmaking pins, beads and glue etc. :headache: They come out pretty but I've stuck my fingers so much it's hard to type.:sad1: I wonder if tetnis(sp?) shots should be mandatory for Christmas projects?

Watch out, people will be placing orders for their Mickey Door Decor from you:goodvibes

Magikitty, I am in awe of your wreath-making talent! Not in my wild dreams could I have come up with that. And even with step by step instructions, I'd probably screw it up big time!

Regarding family vacations, my family (Mom and Dad, me and my 2 kids, DSis, DBiL, and their 2 girls, and DBro) go away together every summer. After a few years where I got overly frustrated dealing with lateness, a bossy DBiL, and a neice who thought she was in charge, I laid down the law last summer. Every day, my kids and I have a little "down time' just for the 3 of us. We may do lunch seperate from the others. We may take a tour, go swimming, or even just hang out in the room watching TV, but we take a break from the rest of the family. I have found that this makes things SOOOOO much better! Following our family vacation this year, which was wonderful and peaceful, we spent 3 weeks in Turkey with DSis and her family (they live over there), and had no problems. Other than the days we were playing tourist, everyone sort of did their own thing--the kids went one way, DBiL went his, and DSis and I hung out on our own. When we all came together for dinner, it was a pleasant gathering.

Just goes to prove the point that too much togetherness can be a bad thing! Breaking things up a little can make a BIG difference.

Good Morning everyone!

Really great job, magikitty! so cute and cool at the same time.

slow start for me this morning, i think that vacation is finally catching up to me. my kids have been sleeping until 9 every morning since we got home! this morning i had to wake my daughter for school. it was her first day back, i thought she'd be waiting for me all excited. nope. knocked out at 8am.

happy to say it's snowing here on long island! well, really it's what they call flurries. i'm sure it won't amount to anything and it looks so pretty. i remember seeing outside the windows in school and getting all happy that we'd be let out early. i don't think it EVER happened, but we dreamed, that's for sure!!!

hope everyone has a great day! i'm sure i'll be back in 1 hour!!

Need to Vent!!! So the Dis boards think I'm under 13:rotfl2:, I can't upload gif's because of that. I tried to email them several times I don't have a direct link when you go into profile click (admin.) if are seeing this message and over 13. I used the address and emailed, finally I use DH's computer microsoft and email to no avail. I get the same reply. Send your message to this address if your problem is this and so on and so on! I love the one that tells me to go to the tech board ( I posted several times w/help for my DVC sig's, and they also made me feel I was a thread killer:rotfl:. No reply:confused3. I can't believe I can't get this taken care of!!! I want to upload my santa and reindeer!! As if I could, bu† I would try. Okay thanks, needed to get that off my chest, it's hard enough feeling like I'm in pre-school computers class but then emailing the address they tell you to and get a automated response which has nothing to do with your problems:sad2:.
Thanks for listening, be back on later!
Free my foot, and Dis Boards please let me upload gif's:dance3:.

so what's going on with this? any progress? where on earth did they ever get the idea that you're under 13 in the first place???? i don't ever remember saying my age (which by the way is a lovely 29 (again and again and again....)).

free the foot, too!!!!!:hippie:

Ok, I'm confused (nothing new there) what is the story behind free the foot?:confused3

Yeah, I do! Actually, this past Wed. DR told me left foot could go into a sneaker, but right foot another 2-3 wks. Long story short, lovely evening, get together w/friends they have a beautiful 3 tier deck built in benches no back railing. End of night lets take pictures 3 of us go to get up 2 go in the right direction and I guess I did what you would call a back flip? It was elevated and below was river rock:eek:. The good news no head injury, the bad, 2 broken feet and 5 out 10 toes. The upside spending lots and lots of time on the boards, and I found this thread!:thumbsup2.

phew!! i knew i would find it eventually! poor thing!
btw disney54us, how's it going?? any news in the sneaker department?!

Finally had time to catch up on this thread.
Wow a lot going on.
Welcome newbies.
Looking forward to those TR from the ones that just returned from WDW.
LOVE the wreath.

A little chilly this morning in the South. Of course anything below 75 degrees starts to make me cold. You would think I would have enough "insulation" on my middle aged body, but no, I get cold. By the way I have lost 10 lbs.:cool1: I have a goal I am trying to make in a year. I'll write more about that in my PTR. Well, would love to stay and chat but I need to take DD to her classes and then I'm off to excercise.:yay: (That smiley is about what I look like when I do a jump n jack.) :rotfl2:

Hello dear friends! Still cold and snowy here, but as long as I'm not venturing outside anytime soon, I don't mind the weather. Its appropriate for the holidays.

Thank you everyone for the support on the wreath! I am rather proud of myself. (BTW, Bopsmom, you could donate to me--I"m B+). The real test was my mother, who's very particular (opinionated) about everything. She saw my wreath and asked where it came from. I said that I made it and she was quite impressed! Its been moved to the outside front door, and while I think it looks adorable, now I'm paranoid that someone is going to take it!

I forgot to add, that even when its just my BF and I on vacation, we need a little time apart, mostly coz we have different interests. Mainly, he does not want to go shopping with me and would rather veg in front of the tv while I make my pilgrimage to the mall. Its fine with me, and it better for both of us.

Shmu, congrats on the weight loss! I am constantly trying new things to get me up and moving. They say once you find something you love, it won't feel like exercise. I love to take dance classes, but adult classes are few and far between around here. I took a summer ballet course "for adults" which actually translated to teenagers...now that's humbling! But it was fun anyways. In turn, I bought the Dancing with the Stars exercise DVD, and its too hard! I can't keep up and get really frustrated.

Good day all! Looking forward to chatting today!

MagiKitty- great wreath, true Disney fans wouldn't steal your wreath :)
shmu- congrats on the 10 lbs. been working on losing 10..20..for about 3 years. I've stopped the advance but can't create a retreat!
I need to figure how to do the DIS and my elliptical exerciser at the same time. :rolleyes1

phew!! i knew i would find it eventually! poor thing!
btw disney54us, how's it going?? any news in the sneaker department?!

Thank you, I wondered if that was what everyone was talking about.:goodvibes I hope the foot is free too.

MagiKitty, congrats on passing the "inspection":thumbsup2 . I hope no Scrooge will take your wreath. :sad2: You may just have to hang it to the inside or make another one with a LoJack attached.

Hi everyone!

Just popping in to say hi. I wouldn't want everyone to forget about me haha. :goodvibes Well I am off to catch up on the thread :surfweb: And look at this wreath everyone is talking about.:goodvibes

Just checking in everyone. Boy is it cold and windy here. I hate this weather.

Our big family vacation just may be getting bigger. My dad just invited my brother, his wife and their son to join us. I'm thrilled that my brother might be joining us and my nephew but SIL is another story. I like my SIL but she is just not a "Disney" person, if you know what I mean. And when my nephew is with her, he just turns into a wild child. It's only been one day since the invite have been extended and I'm already have the nightmare about reading about ourselves on a "You Wouldn't Believe What I Saw At Disney" thread.

And it's just not me that has problems with her. My dad's fiancee and her kids have a problem with her too. Anybody have any ideas on how to keep the peace if they decide to join us? I already know the main rule of not spending every moment together but I know we have to spend some time together.

Hi, everyone started this post in the morning, but I had to get my ebay stuff out and go to lowes and my ride was waiting:laughing: aka DH. So I will rewrite, then go and check what I missed while I was gone. Weather horrible here to , yesterday wind gust up to 50miles p/hr. My neighbors tree was uprooted and is laying on her lawn:scared:. I wouldn't worry about the SIL, she may not accept, and if she does being around so many dis people she may just feel the :wizard:. Other suggestions make sure her room is down the hall or on another floor:rotfl:. It's hard w/ so many people but you can take mini breaks. For instance if everyone is going to MK, some might want to go into Toon Town and some tomorrow Land so people can split and and meet back in a couple of hrs. Same goes for those days when the kids are tired and might want to go back and hang at the pool. This way you can do some things together but it's not 24/7 overload:thumbsup2.

First all I can say is WOW! the wreath is beautiful and I think just as pretty as the one from Dis shopping:banana: There was no doubt in my mind where you were heading yesterday:laughing:, You were on a mission to make the wreath! What did we ever do without Dollars stores:confused3. You have a great attitude about the family thing, key word is expectations, I think so many times we think it should be like on the Walton's or some Disney movie (skip that one, did you ever notice the mother always had died in many Dis movies:sad2:). It would be nice if families could all be like one of those movies (not the dead mom or dad), but I guess we have to take what we have:grouphug:. I think I need a 1-800-DIS-BOARD help line, you know for those poor confused computer challenged over 13 but believed to be under 13 people:rotfl2: Here's a clue if I was 13 or under I wouldn't have such a problem w/ computer skills:laughing:.

free the foot, too!!!!!:hippie:

Okay, let's remember its me I just learned how to multi quote. So when I went to register when I filled out my email address and clicked to go to the next step, it didn't go. So I tried again, still problems. Well there was this line to fill out your parents email address and me being me well I did and then I was able to cont.:cool1: Until, the next day and I couldn't sign in w/o my parents permission. So I email the same address I been trying and no problem they said it was all taken care of and I should be able to log on
which I was and can. It's just this little thing that they have controls on me like not uploading gif for sig's etc.

Just stopping by your thread and saw this and wanted to comment.

I hope you all let the scars heal and venture into posting starting threads again.:)

I am newly assigned to Moderate the welcome board and will be around to help answer questions and help direct anyone to the right place to hopefully
get the answers they need.

I also wanted to say HI and introduce myself

HI I'm Kayla the welcome board Mod:upsidedow
Nice to meet you :flower3:

Are you the tag fairy? :rotfl: (reminds me of when I asked my Mom and Dad if they were Santa...they said "nope" haha :rotfl: :rotfl: )
