Thread killers unite!

I know how you feel, except I never knew what a Thread Killer I was until I went to my UserCP and looked at my subscribed threads and saw how many of them there were where I was the last one to respond!

Yay--I am not alone!! It really is nice to know others have felt like a thread killer as well.....Some people on here are just so darn clever that they make it easy to respond to them, I think. (Yeh, I am not one of the clever ones..) I really like the idea of looking for "0" response threads & replying--it can be our holiday project: "Let no thread go unanswered!!" ! Deb

:grouphug: OK, let me be part of the thread killers. We sound so mean don't we! That must be what it is - people are intimidated by us! :cool2: :rotfl:

Ok, to add insult to injury...those two little X's where my signature is supposed to be is supposed to be a lovely reindeer that JRabbit910 has been so kind to send to me. I can't figure out how to add it to my siggy. Any clues? It used to come up as the link...no its X's. I guess I'm getting closer! I want my little reindeer! TIA!

I love the idea of responding to 0 threads... If for nothing more then letting that poster know that someone did read the thread. Thanks

See.. I told ya you'd attract attention.:rotfl: Hey, Tag Fairy... come on over here!!! I recieved my tag by creating a thread about my dislike of Crocs. Never thought it would go anywhere let alone get a tag out of it.
I agree TKA... Thread Killers Annonomous
Hi, I'm Deb and I join or start threads that don't go anywhere. I also bump my own threads in hope of getting some attention. :scared1: My next step will be creating a new sign-on and answering my own thread. :crazy2:

I'm just posting to say that I don't know the reason, that's all. I really have nothing to contribute except to inform everyone that I have nothing to say, and ask that maybe there are others who do know the answers, and to post my hope that they will post soon (with, hopefully, the answers!)!!

:confused3 :lmao: :confused3 :lmao: ;)

 Hi.

Never started a thread but have been on one for the past few months that it up over 3000 pages and is titled "Who wants to be a threadkiller?" :thumbsup2 with very understanding and educated people on it. They have been very nice and answered all my dumb :confused3 questions. They have pointed me in the right direction and made my Disney (past and future)trips alot better. :thumbsup2 So if this thread is cut I'm sure they love to have some newbies.

But would like to be in the ground breaking of a new one if I may. So let's get it going.:cheer2: :cheer2:   :cool1:

:scared1: There ALREADY a threadkiller thread?! Where is it? Are they active thread killers or recovering ones like we are?

It more of a running joke to them. Like you they had the same problems of people not responding or getting insulted on other sites.

I was a long time lurker until a few months ago...in the time since, I've worked my way up to Mouseketeer (yeah!). I've answered some questions, offered suggestions, yet whenever I seem to have a question or start a new thread, I go unanswered! This has happened at least a dozen times...have I been blacklisted or something? Am I the unofficial thread killer?

All you can do is offer advice from your past experiences. Some people seem to be just looking for a bandwagon to jump on for a negative confrontation. If noone responds to your attempt at offering information, just move on, but don't let it stop you from responding, because you may be truly helping others who might not be registered.:thumbsup2 Continue on and your advice is appreciated:cool1:

I am so humbled by the tremendous response and kindnesses that you fellow DISers have demonstrated today. I hope we can continue the goodwill and demonstrate what the message boards truly can accomplish. Spread the love everyone!

Update: one response to a long dormant question on the transportation board. Actually, it was an echo to my original question. No help yet, but not bitter about it. Look how far I've come! :cheer2:

And honestly don't have a clue:confused3 I have never heard of what you mentioned and we have rented a car on several trips. Here is your chance to educate US.:thumbsup2 Sorry no help.

MagiKitty - I'm having the same problem with the cute reindeer!! JRabbit910 was so nice to send it to me but I don't even get as far as the X, I can just get the URL to show up. She tried to help me (thanks again JRabbit!) but I'm wondering if we're too new and don't have enough posts (ironic since we can't get enough because no one answers our threads!) to be able to get those cute animals.

I'll keep working on it and keep you posted if I have any luck!

You have to have the complete address of the image, then go into your User CP in the top left corner of the dark blue bar above. Go into the section that allows you to edit signature. Click on the image you want to post and make sure you get the entire address (usually right click the image and then click copy:thumbsup2 ) Then come back to your signature and right click where you want to insert it and click on paste.:cool1:

I think I have a lead to the signature issue....on the very bottom under "signature preferences" it says NO to upload images to my signature. I can't figure out how to switch it to yes. Someone sent my a detailed PM on how to get the turkey to my signature, and I've tried and tried it, but I keep getting that silly red X over and over again. Yet I keep trying. Its a cruel world.

FYI: from what I understand re: Thrifty Wild Card rental, I'm guaranteed at least a mid-sized rental car, but it can be a larger model also. Pretty much whatever is available on the lot. My flight gets in after 6pm, so the pickings may be shallow. I mainly chose that option coz it was way cheaper than the economy cost and its kinda exciting to NOT know what kind of car I'm going to get! Only drawback is that gas is SO expensive right now---I hope I don't get stuck with a huge SUV!

Sometimes, I have found that sometimes people only go to those posts that they have experience with per say.
I will welcome all the newbies, and answer questions or post that I can comment on or share my experience on. :)

Great Thread though, Everyone will know who you are. LOL

Have a magical day!

Click on the UserCP then click edit options, then scroll down to to thread display options and make sure the boxes are checked near show signatures, avatars and images. Then try:thumbsup2 Hope this helps you all out!
