Thread killers unite!

I love the idea of responding to 0 threads... If for nothing more then letting that poster know that someone did read the thread. Thanks

You can see beside it how many people did at least open it and no one cared enough to respond.:sad2:

I saw a thread about being a thread killer. It was good at first but just became a chat between certain people. The community board has a tagless one too that started out great. I was ignored there. :surfweb: So I just kept going.

There have been several times that I have almost answered a post with 0 replys because I felt bad that no one answered, but I just assumed I couldn't be any help or would just sound stupid. (Kinda like I do now) But from now on I'm going to answer them.

I have a really hard time with the siggie stuff too. Took me forever to figure out how to do what I did. I still want to know how other people get so much stuff on theirs and mine got cut off until I worked on it.:confused3 Ding dang it, it's still cut off.

Good talking to you fellow thread killers!:)

OMG, I thought I was the only thread killer. I posted a "who else is going on DCL April 12, 2007". The only person who responded was my friend who booked her cruise to go with me. After bumping myself several times I felt like a loser. I finally gave up and decided we would be alone on the boat. Unfortunately I was wrong. Other people showed up on the cruise too. :headache:

Recently I posted a question and only 2 people responded and that was it. Now I only respond. I don't post questions.

Today I will stand with you and say, "NO MORE 0'S, DEATH TO THE 0 RESPONSES." :grouphug:

I feel better!:goodvibes

I think this may make me more of a thread killer but I'm getting a magical feeling when I stop someone else from being one. I've seen some of your names. We are making a difference. :grouphug:

It's almost like we're becoming a National Organization of Nice Pipples!!! What a nice change for the better, I say:cool1:

Well, I've done my good deed for the day (though not on DIS). On another board I post on, there's a girl who posted something 2 days ago - & it was only her FIRST post! There have been a lot of people who have looked at her post, but no one has responded. Well, I didn't know a lot about what she was talking about, so I researched a little online. Then, I went back & posted some sort of general response to her.

Even though I'm sure she didn't get a lot of help out of me, she seemed extremely happy that someone was paying attention to her! She was very thankful! :goodvibes

Go threadkillers! :cheer2:

:wizard: sending good vibes your way PrincessPac! I'm looking for other Zero posts too...this goodwill is infectious.

Isn't it funny how being nice is suspicious? I try to at least be polite to everyone and not everyone takes it well. Some people think that being nice really means I have an ulterior motive! I must admit, I have a terrible habit of "kidnapping" senior citizens in my area....there isn't a lot of public transportation in my area, and I frequently offer to give someone a ride home from the grocery. Most seniors here live in nearby housing so I've gotten quite familiar with their area! I drop them off at their home and carry their bags to their doorstep. It really makes both of our days!

Recently on the BudgetBoard, a woman was asking people to send postcards to a sick little boy who was starting a postcard drive. Only two people responded. I thought it was so sad. I got the address and asked permission to forward it to my friends so they could send postcards too. I mean, a postcard and a stamp--how hard could that really be?

Have a good day everyone and look for the little kindnesses! Its fun!

I don't usually go on the budget board for some reason, so could you forward the name and address of our young postcard collector? I'll send him one from the Jersey shore!!

Thanks heaps.

I can post a question and get no responses and then post again the next day and get several. Who really knows how it all works:confused3

I plead guilty to not responding :sad2: I have not posted a thread yet but I do check out those with 0 or low responses. Being a newbie I feel like I don't know much. Even my WDW experiences are out of date (been 4 yrs since I've been). :hippie:

I know very little about WDW compared to some of the people on here, and what I do know is subject to change! It really is hit or miss...it just depends on who's reading, what they know, or if they have the time to respond. For me, its just nice not to feel stupid or intimidated when I post. On the up side, it'll be quickly forgotten anyway! :grouphug:

I'm just posting to say that I don't know the reason, that's all. I really have nothing to contribute except to inform everyone that I have nothing to say, and ask that maybe there are others who do know the answers, and to post my hope that they will post soon (with, hopefully, the answers!)!!

:confused3 :lmao: :confused3 :lmao: ;)

Ditto! :rotfl2:

Oooh. I would like the postcard address as well, or at least to know where the thread is, so I can ask for myself.
Then I can try to send a postcard from the different places I go.

This thread is going to be interesting, because nobody will want any post to kill the thread.

You can say that that's a good question...wish I knew the answer...I'm sure someone can help here.
I must admit I didn't answer one about some place in Germany. It was just posted this am so I'm going to check back later and give some kind of response if no one else did.

pixiedust: It just makes this retired librarian's heart proud. You went over and beyond the call of duty! Researched for her!
:cheer2: Gooooooooooooo threadkillers! :cheer2:

Can any one help me?

I am trying to figute out how to find the threads someone has posted. When I click on the name and click to view posts, a search comes up. I fill in the users name and....NOTHING. Every time. What an I doing wrong?

Unfortunately, the search function does not work. You can't look up the posts that someone has posted. Wouldn't that be fun if you could, though?

I also usually lurk afraid to be the thread killer. I hope I have found a home where this won't happen! I am going to look for some 0 and see if I can change them.

Someone please post after me!!:rotfl:

Hey!!! Where'dja get the turkey and the pickle??? I want one, too (insert nasal whine right about now :rotfl2: )!!!
