Thoughts on the Adventure?

So no adults pool
No adults only lounges
Less musicians then a usual ship.
Only 2 theatre shows (and one of those is really short).
Kids club is closed for a full 3 hrs when kids often want to go to kids clubs.
Hardly any character meets for the kids

And all this in a ship with so much more people.. Frankly this sounds awful. Disney is not doing this properly. Despite the ship looking spectacular i think i may have to cancel my trip.

Because it takes way too long, this is faster, the issue is people don't want one pic and move on. They want a pic with them, then one with Grandma, then one with Grandpa, then one with everyone, then one with two kids, then one with each kid. Then they decide they also want an autograph and to give everyone a hug. It just takes FOREVER, there are too many people.
this way you get a snap and move on.

You have to remember that in Asian parks people will seriously line up for over 8 hours and longer for a ride, parade or character. They can't have characters creating these huge lines that people WILL wait in, even if they had more characters it would just create more huge lines. You're underestimating how long people from Asian countries will wait.
If they had more characters it would lead to shorter lines.

Exactly. Disney decided to have a bigger ship, with way more guests, but their character offerings are less (or at least seem less) than what you normally get on smaller ships. And because of that, they decide to do the selfie thing… not very customer friendly tbh

Oh, btw, characters appear on the same outfit (captain Mickey, Captain Minnie, sailor Goofy, Donald and Daisy) no different outfits on different days. Can’t understand why

I feel there could be a happy medium for this. For the big group shots on the long sea day heavy cruises and the Sanderson sisters, you get one/two shots with the CM photographers and one/two with your own phone. No interaction, no different combinations of people for your group, just get in, take the photo, and get out. I’d prefer that over selfies especially when the characters are so far above you on the stage.

Aren't these cruises really short...? They likely don't see the need to create more fervor.

The no adult lounges is misinformed based on information and tours I’ve seen. Buccaneer Bar and the Palo Taverna were presented as adult only spaces.

Also lots of people making assumptions that all is now as it will always be on this ship. Personally I wouldn’t assume to know the offerings based on first week operations.

This is correct. Both venues hold beverage seminars during the day and then open from 5-11pm. Strictly for adults. What they don't offer are things offered in the adult venues on other ships, eg Match Your Mate.

Exactly. The fact that there were obvious tweaks to the reservation systems and what was offered onboard between the maiden and second voyage shows that Disney is trying to learn. When we sail on Adventure again in 7 months time I'm expecting it to be a somewhat different experience again.

Is there Bingo?

Yes there is! I didn't attend but someone that was on my trivia team had to excuse themselves to attend bingo. This was on the 2nd sea day.

Thank you so much for sharing! It's really great to get a first hand review from someone who isn't an influencer, or there by invitation.

That would be a huge turn off for me! Did you spend any time there and if so, was the smoke obvious?

What was your favorite thing you purchased? I run into the same problem every time we make it over to Japan... things are just so stinking cute!

Did you happen to notice if the bar menus had many/any mocktails? How were the quality of the drinks overall would you say? Expensive and basic? Or well priced and interesting?
Regarding the smoker's area, hopefully you're able to visualise from my description (lol!). It's located in the starboard corner of Deck 18 and is fully encircled with glass. The Infinity Pool and its seating area also have glass paneling around the entirety, except for where the bar is (in the centre). Thus there was no obvious smoke smell, and no smell whatsoever that I noticed. It's the kind of thing that when you happened to look at the smoker's area it's like "oh yeah, that's there". It's also standing room only so that smokers don't loiter.

For myself I ended up with the Adventure spirit jersey, a t-shirt with artwork of the ship on it, a Gelatoni keychain, a bunch of pins and the Evie towel animal plush. There was just so much clothing, some "generic" Adventure stuff and some with the Inaugural Sailings branding that looked really cool. It was so hard to narrow it down!

It seemed that all the venues had their own various cocktails and mocktails. From memory each menu had maybe 3 or 4 mocktail options. Neither of us tried them but from we did have (generally wine and beer) the prices are comparable to other ships. I'm a red wine drinker and their cheapest was generally a $10 Malbec, which I can't complain too much about as they were charging around $9.75 for a Shiraz on the Australian sailings.
