Thoughts on Mama Melrose

It's one of our favorites. They do this fun thing for the kids - they appoint a chef of the hour. My daughter was chosen. She got a chef hat and all the makings for an ice cream sundae that she got to fix herself. It was one of the highlights of our trip...she was 3.5 and still talks about it. We're keeping our fingers crossed for suck luck this trip - it's our first meal.

We ate at MM last week. It was really good and one of our better meals for the week. We had a group of 12 and everyone enjoyed their meal. I had a pasta dish with a white sauce and grilled shrimp. My husband had some type of pork marsala dish and he loved it! The server was great too. We will definatley go back there! We also ate at 50's during our trip. We had a great waitress but the food wasn't so good - my fried chicken was tuff. I probably won't go back to 50's on my next trip.

It was OK. Not bad, but not great. I don't know that we'll be going back to it (if we're eating Italian at WDW, we're heading over to Tutto Italia at Epcot).

Like anything Disney, it isn't bad, the question is whether it will be to YOUR tastes.

We ate at MM for dinner during our trip last month. Food was great, no one had any complaints. we had a party of 10, including 3 kids. We got everything from app's to deserts.

If there was a complaint it would be that the whole experience was too long, we wanted to get back into the parks. That was probably our fault though, after that meal we told our server when we first got to the rest. that we wanted to get in and get out. We didn't tell our server that in MM.

We really enjoyed our meal at Mama Melrose. Our waitress was one of the best ones we had while at WDW. We didn't care for the Artisian bread with spreads...actually we like the bread, not the spread. I think it's one step above Olive Garden in terms of being "Italian" food (although I do enjoy Olive Garden immensely!)

We didn't go in September and I made a vow we will next time. I just loved the look of the place all tucked into the corner like that. It looks charming.

i agree, that's why i always wanted to go there, it just looks so inviting. I cant give up havign my 50s or Sci Fi to make room to try that place though. Eventually perhaps.

Well, you asked so I'll tell you: our meal there was terrible. The restaurant was FREEZING, it took forever to get our food, which was cold when it finally arrived, and to top it all off, the red sauce was so bad it was inedible. People around us were complaining as well, so it wasn't just us.
I love Olive Garden and this meal doesn't even come close. I think Chef-Boy-Ar-Dee would have been better.
I think if you are used to Grandma Maria's homemade marinara, then don't eat here. If you like Ragu, then you should be OK.

We love it. Even though the space is large, it always seems cozy to us and like Sinatra could start singing from another table at anytime. We love the pizza and the artisan breads.

It's crazy to see a review like this, but then see all the good reviews. I guess restaurants have bad days, too. We're doing dinner at MM for the first time when we go in January, and I'm praying it'll be a good day for them! :)

We ate dinner there last week. Was a last minute ADR decision, as decided we weren't in the mood to leave Hollywood Studios for our LTT ressie - so called and the CM said she had Mama Melrose for 10 minutes from when I was calling - okay, let's do it!
I read bad food reviews on here about it, so wasn't expecting anything great. I have to say, is on our must do again list for our next trip. We really all enjoyed it and just was a nice relaxing dinner for us. Yes, I have had way better pasta elsewhere - but still, at the same time, our meal there was fantastic. I think also it was a nice change of pace from the buffets we were doing and everything we were eating elsewhere, to just have some pasta.
Honestly, with most restaurants we tried, I'd go into each not expecting a great meal, but so-so food, and always ended up pleasantly surprised.

We really like this restaurant....have always had good food and good service. They have a spicy seafood pasta dish that is wonderful, if you like things that are a bit spicy.
