Thoughts on Mama Melrosa's

My DS wants to know what this dessert is? :goodvibes

Had dinner there on 12/1 for the fantasmic package. Wasn't bad overall, liked the atmosphere and had great service, entire meal took under an hour for three adults. I chose the artisan breads and spreads appetizer, four cheese flatbread, and hazelnut cheesecake. The appetizer was great, and the cheesecake was my favorite desert from my entire trip, but the flatbread had a very 'off' taste to me. It was hot and cheesy and had a very tasty crust, but too much of some spice (thyme?) left an odd aftertaste.

I would try MM again, but I'd definitely choose a different entree next time.

We've had dinner there twice, and we thoroughly enjoyed it both times. We tried HBD this trip, but DH says he prefers to return to MM next time.

It's nothing extraordinarily special, but it's good and a quiet spot in the park.

Well, we have had Sci-Fi many times and have always enjoyed it, but we decided to "TRY" Mama Melrose. In our experience we would say Sci-Fi, but again this is for one reason and one reason alone. I have severe food allergies and Sci-Fi is extremely accommadating while Mama Melrose was not. So if you special order food I would suggest Sci-Fi.

We ate there in August 07 and it was terrible. I would say the red sauce is - barely - a step up from Chef-Boy-Ar-Dee, which isn't saying much. My DD will eat any kind of pizza and she couldn't eat her pepperoni flatbread- the spices were funky and the pepperoni was about a quarter inch thick and grossly greasy.
The place was half-empty even though we waited in a crowded lobby for 20 minutes after our ADR time. Service was extremely slow and the food arrived cold (the restaurant was FREEZING.) Clearly they were shortstaffed because there was no other reason for so many empty tables with 20 or 30 people waiting to be seated in the lobby.

Thanks for all the posts everyone!! I'm booked there for 2/6 for the 1st time. I appreciate the honest opinions:goodvibes

DH and I just had dinner there this past Friday. We always, go to MM when we visit the world and just like in the past this time didn't disappoint. In fact we got soup and dessert at NO charge. After we finished our apps, the waiter came by with two bowls of soup and asked if we'd like to try it...then when we said we no to the dessert menu, he said its vacation and brought us a dessert to share.....none of which was on our bill. I had the eggplant Neapolitan and it was great!

We dine at MM on almost every trip and enjoy it very much. In fact, I will be there Saturday night and can't wait! :thumbsup2

Please do! I love looking at pics. For some reason, they help me decide!

Here you go Lisa! :goodvibes Sorry I don't have as many as I thought I did. And the only picture I took of the food was mine! We had the Artisan Breads and Spreads for an appetizer. I had the Wood-grilled Chicken tossed with Pipette pasta, it was pretty good but I will probably try something else next time. DH had the Spicy Italian Sausage with rigatoni pasta, he said it was the best meal of his trip. The kids just had plain spaghetti with butter sauce.

We really enjoyed the atmosphere. It kind of feels like you are eating outside under the stars. Our waitress was nice, but slow. I had heard that the service is slow there, but I had no idea. . . From the time we checked in to the time we left was just short of 2 hours. So while the service was good, it was very slow!

Always delicious for us! Kevin has been our waiter the past 2 times we've visited and we had superb service and wonderful food!

Ate there in 12/07 and 11/08.

My family loves eating at MM, and we do just about every trip. I have not had a bad meal there. I will not say it was the best I ever had, but always good.

My fam enjoyed dinner there last year durring the summer. I had the chicken parm. The only thing I found a bit off-putting, was that Its the only time Ive ever been out for italian, and not been served bread (even before ordering) I just ordered the artisan breads / spreads as my ap. It was all good, just seemed strange to me :confused3

We tried MM a few weeks ago (had not been there in quite a while) all I can say is we are going back this week. :thumbsup2

It now looks like I am leaning towards booking our dinner there. Anyone else have opinions and/or pics?

I've only had the flatbreads and have always enjoyed the meal. Haven't gone in a few years but will be doing a Fantastmic Package one night during my March Trip! :thumbsup2
