Thoughts on a video camera?

After all these posts, I would like to know what happened; please share.

I have an older Sony mini-DV camcorder (DCR HC20). It is a great little video camera. It does have a touch screen (for controls). It is very easy to use (even for my husband who has big fingers).

I did see that Best Buy has a more recent version of this camera (HC52) for sale for $249 this week. The reviews for this camera (I looked a various sites) were also positive.

I am a Sony fan (I have 4 digital cameras including an Alpha 300) and 2-Sony camcorders. I have been very happy with all of my purchases.

Any updates on this?

DH & I are thinking about buying a small videa camera with a 60+ harddrive. We won't be doing alot of video editing. We would like one that takes good pictures too. And takes good video at night (like of Wishes, Spectro & Fantasmic). Any suggestions?

If you get the Flip, you must bring your laptop on vacation to handle taking more video than the camera holds. You cannot change the memory card.

We've had our current camera (a JVC mini dv) for a long time now and want to upgrade. So we'll give this new one a try.
