We are going to Epcot for my daughter's birthday November 9. I have the Coronado booked for November 8 so we can take advantage of extra morning hours for the 9th.

I do have the chance to move to Boardwalk or Art of Animation Suite.

Thoughts on location and best ways to get into the park? I know Boardwalk is right there but after reading through several posts in the forum, can we even get through decently to at the International Gateway for the morning? Im seeing many saying this location has long lines in the morning due to the Skyline....?

My kids are 6 and 7(Will be turning 8 that day).

Thanks in advance for any advice on how best to plan our day.

Lines at IG are not any longer than other places. We had no trouble entering at IG. Yes there are lines but at park opening there are lines at all entrances.

With kids that age I would recommend IG - you can do Remy first and if you are near the front of rope drop make it over to Frozen without too much wait. It is good to be able to knock out those 2 during EE. Skyliner lines move fast (as long as its running normally) and still better than entering from the front.

Art of Animation is a fun resort for kids with the theming (and the suites are amazing with 2 full bathrooms if that is the room type that you are selecting). But of course, you can walk to Epcot with Boardwalk. We noticed the Skyliner down a few times when we went but that was end of August when they had a lot of rain.

Since your stay is all about your day at Epcot, I would recommend staying at the Boardwalk. We have stayed there and at the Beach Club when our three kids were small. It is so nice to be able to stroll over through International Gateway. I haven't stayed there since the Skyliner has opened, but I still think it would be so much easier to enter via IG than the main entrance.

Sounds like a great way to celebrate a birthday! Have fun!!!

The line at IG follows the same pattern as main entrance lines. Pretty much everyone who enters IG at early entry plans to rope drop Remy. Don’t forget Epcot resort guests are queuing as well. For an 8am early entry, the skyliner starts running at 7am. If you get to IG at 7am you will be the first 100 people and will have no problem getting on Remy by 8am. If you arrive by 7:20, you will be several hundred people back and will have about a 10-15 minute wait once you are in line for Remy. If you arrive to IG by 7:45, you will have a 30-40 minute wait for Remy. If you stay at Boardwalk, absolutely take advantage of that location and be at IG no later than 7am. Once you are off Remy, head to the Land, Seas, and Figment for very little waits the first hour or two. Or if you’re off Remy by 8:10 or so, head to Frozen before the non-resort crowds get there.

I agree with staying BW. We actually did this in Sept. but stayed BC and entered the thru IG without any long line issues. We rope dropped Remy and then headed to Frozen, getting there just before park opening to offsite guests. We're going in March and will be staying BW. We'll do the same thing then because it worked so well.

We went back to the room that afternoon to swim/rest before going back to the park for the evening.

Also....If you're going to try for Guardians, go for the 1pm. You must be in the park and I'd turn of wifi, finding a place that gives you 3-4 bars. Disney wifi won't cut it. You get another shot at 6pm to ride during EMH.
