Thoughts and Prayers to our English Friends!!!....Can I ask a ??

I was horrified to get up this morning to hear of the horrific attacks in London this morning. It brought 9/11 back like it was yesterday. I hope this post find you and your families all well.

I was wondering if anyone can tell me if Weston Super Mare is anywhere near the London area.

I have a sister and her entire family that live there and I am just concerned if there was a possibility they might have been in the area??? I am just not how close it is to London.

I have tried to phone but the lines aren't getting through.

Again, please all be safe and take care of each other.

Weston Super Mare is about 140 miles away from London, A good 2 hour + drive away.

I hope that puts your mind a little at ease and that you finally get through to your family.

Weston-Super-Mare is about 140 miles (228 km) West of London. I think. I believe you have nothing to worry about for your family, unless you think they may have gone to the city for work or sightseeing.

I'm sure that you will be able to get through on the phones (or try email) to confirm this later today. The networks are so blocked right now with everyone trying to check on their loved ones.

I hope you get confirmation of their safety soon.

Although 140 miles might not seem much to all of you from bigger countries, for us it's about as far West from London as we can go without falling into the sea! Well, OK, if you go a little bit further south I guess it's 250-300 miles from London to the tip of Corwnall (near Plymouth on that map), but that's about the limit!
