Ok I have never been to WDW in November. I am looking at November 13-18 for a quick trip and I need some info on what weather is like and anything special going on. From what I know (or think I do) the Epcot Wine and Food festival is still going on and I know at Disneyland the Christmas stuff goes up the first or second week of November. Is this the same thing at WDW?

I love to wear shorts. Can I still in November? I have been to Florida for the Superbowl a few times and it was warm then.

Any help would be great.

Aloha

Steve

Our very first trip was mid-November, 1980 and from the pictures and my memory we wore shorts during our whole stay. When our children were young, our favorite time to go was the week after Thanksgiving because way back then the decorations all went up over night during that week. More mixed weather by then..some days shorts, other days long pants. The F&W Festival ends on the 15 or 16...I think 16.

Deb's site has a list of some of the holiday decorations schedule. I think it starts mid month but someone will know for sure.

We'll be there 15-25 but at BCV until the 20th then Polynesian LVC. Have you booked yet. November sounds busy in the resorts. Of course, I'm sure they'd find room for you!:D

the Food and Wine Fest is over on the 16th and you should start seeing some Holiday decorations going up during your stay. The weather is tough to say. We have been the 2nd week of December and wore shorts and went swimming but have heard from others that they had cool/cold weather as early as last October. Central Florida weather is just hard to nail down. Bring layers of clothes and especially a light jacket and sweatshirt!

Have fun!

Steve--
How cool to be able to help you after all the help you have given us!!!
We have been to WDW 4 of the last 5 yearsin Nov. The weather can vary but we have always been able to wear shorts for some/all of the time. The nights can be a little chilly but generally the days are quite warm (except Thanksgiving 2000 when you could see your breath in the am at Animal Kingdom).
As for the Holiday decorations, they are usually being put up the weeks before Thanksgiving but no holiday activities are going on as yet. It is fun to see them none-the-less. We often go during Veteran's Day week and 1 day an area or restaurant isn't decorated and the next it is--it's fun to see the change.
Thanks to your website and help, we are returning to Poly concierge Veteran's Day week. We are counting the days! Thank you!

Aloha,
Barbara

Last Nov. was great -- warm days and pleasant evenings. My DW and I stayed at BC at the end of Jersey Week/Vet's Day and through the following week. Crowds were not bad; we were able to swim nearly every day. Christmas decorations were up at the BC when we arrived and we visited several other resorts to see their decorations. You could see the outlines of decorations at Epcot & MGM, but nothing was "on" at the parks yet.

Hope you have a terrific trip!! :wave2:

We were there for Thanksgiving and the week after in 1993. The temperatures fluccuated throughout the day. We mostly wore shorts and t-shirts with a sweatshirt for cool mornings and evenings, and took the sweatshirt off for the daytime. When I look back at old photos from that trip, I see there were times that we wore long pants as well. We did go to Typhoon Lagoon one day while we were there, but I remember being uncomfortably cool there. It was cloudy that day as I recall. I'm sure there will likely be warmer days than that for you to enjoy the waterparks/pools though.

Have fun!

Sue

Since 1996 we have been during the second week of November 4 times. Like the others have said - the weather was warm during the day and cooler at night. If you are going to be out in the evening you may need a sweatshirt. Try to keep this in mind, sometimes it is hard when it is 80 degrees when you leave. One important thing is we never had a drop of rain!! Enjoy.

We went in November of 1998, and the weather was beautiful! Shorts during the day, great swimming weather, no rain at all!

The nights really didn't even get that chilly, but I remember seeing on the news that the weather they were having was unseasonably warm! Even so, the weather in November is great!

Have fun!

We'll be there the same time - I'm at WL from 11/14 - 21

We were there around the same time last year too - it was warm enought to wear shorts each day - although one night I put on a pair of sweatpants to hang out on a balconey.

We went swimming each evening - and it was cooooold - I believe it was around 50 on the coolest night - but as long as you were under the water you were fine - I just remember dreading getting out of the pool!

From what I've heard it can get cooler or warmer than that - so be prepared with a sweatshirt and maybe a pair of jeans

Our first visit was the week prior to Thanksgiving in Nov. 2000. The weather was beautiful but cool in the mornings the first half of the week - then downright cold! the second half. No rain, clear days but the horticulture staff was on "freeze warnings" the last couple of days of our stay.

We got by in shorts and sweatshirts in the morning (highs in the low 70's for the first half of the week) and then in jeans and sweatshirts the rest of our stay (highs in the low 60's). The only uncomfortably cold day we were over at Island of Adventure and skipped most of the water rides due to the cold.

I wish I was going again this November - have a fantastic time!

:wave2: Sorry Steve I can't answer your question but we'll be staying at the Polynesian Nov 15-25 ! I just wanted to say thanks for your wonderful site - we'd be lost without it!

You all are right and all are wrong. I have lived here 12 years, 40 minutes form WDW, and never seen two winters alike. Just pack for chilly and warm weather.

In November I have gotten sunbured golfing one day and wearing long pants and heavy sweater the next day. In 1996 we never ran the furnace once in November, in 2001 it never turned off.

Better to have it and not need it, then to not have it and need it.

Bottom line is your in the land of Magic, enjoy

Tikiman,
It's a pleasure to return the favor and offer you some advice.Have to agree with the other posts. Most of our trips have been during November (99', 02', 03'). We always bring along sweatshirts and jeans, but rarely have used them. Maybe a jacket at night. Only remember 1 passing shower. Hope this helps. Have a great time!
Will you be checking out Hawaii's renovations or trying something else ?:)

We love November, We have been in June and April, but we really enjoy Nvember. The weather is great, yes--you can wear shorts and it is warm enough to swim. Crowds are not bad and we find it our favorite time of year to visit.

We usually do our trip in November, but we added April this year since we are buying AP. Hope this helps.
