Those using swagbucks ???

While it hasn't always been for Disney I've been doing swagbucks for a long time. I started doing it just before our son was born I was doing swagbucks to pay for diapers. I'd cash out amazon and have them delivered. He's 5 now so long out of diapers as we've been using cloth for DD so we don't have to worry about that expense anymore. You never realize how expensive those things are until you have a child!

My first two were in disposables and next two in cloth. Such a money saver!

I love this board! I love hearing everyone's stories. We joined DVC in 2013 and it quickly became apparent to me that I needed a way to pay for our food and such while we were on all these trips. Since our rooms are covered and we have the SW card so our flights are typically covered, all I needed to worry about was food and souvenirs. Since that time, I have been able to cover the majority of our dining needs with maybe spending $100 or so on a trip. We go 2-3 time a year so I have been very pleased with what we have been able to accomplish. This board has been the main reason we have been able to really meet those goals. We just got the Disney visa and plan on using that for groceries and gas so that we can earn GCs that way too.

I will mention that 2 years ago I won a trip to Disney for our family. We got to stay at the GF and in the Cinderella Royal Suite. We also got $3000 in GCs. We got passes as part of the package too, but we are AP holders so we did't need them for our trip (My sister came with and needed hers). Those GCs we won supported us on a couple of trips.

For those of you that have paid for vacations with SB....did you do it mostly by watching things or did you also do lots of purchasing? I don't have the time, desire, or energy to sign up for things to cancel later or up-sell on eBay. While I do think it is great for those that are able to do this, I just don't have the desire. Currently, I've been earning about 200ish a day, which would probably put me at around $1K for the year....but maybe I need to step up my game because I'm really envious at the above posts!!! :-)

For us if we have the time and capacity to make any given purchase online to go through SB, we do. For example, last year we bought our mulch online through Lowe's going through the SB site. We set it for instlre pickup, and voila...rewarded. We also try to pick up holiday gifts year round, so we scour sites for best deals and then cross check to see if we can earn money back through SB or eBates before pulling the trigger. A lot of times you can get egiftcards through the SB sites before you buy ... those purchases qualify for points, too. MyGiftCardsPlus offers GC's for a lot of places we go to and sites that we use like AMC Theatres, Groupon and Olive Garden (our kids favorite ...)

One more thing to check out! Swagbucks local. We luck out because our preferred Pizza Joint participates in SB Local. We get points from them a few times a month, too. Be sure to check in periodically as they're constantly adding new preferred local vendors.

I've found the online shopping component really makes a big difference.

Hey Swagbucks experts- can you help? I just signed up for a new Swagbucks account and the introductory survey that you have to fill out to access the other surveys keeps going to a malware site (freelotto.com with a screen that says something like Winner Claim Form. It's done that a few times and now my computer is just blocking the site. AND when I tried to fill out a ticket to report it, I hit submit and it just goes to the top of the form so I am not sure it has been submitted. Any suggestions, similar experiences? Thanks!

Personally, I don't purchase anything. I do it by just watching (or a few surveys once in a blue moon). My sister (who first told me about SB) had a horror story with canceling something with purchasing from some company (not sure of the company, but she ended up having to cancel the card and then they tried collections on her, took months to fix).

If it is from a well known company (Hulu, Gamefly, Dollar Shave Club, Netflix) it would be fine with cancelling. I just won't do it because of the problems she had.

I don't purchase much, but I check when I do online shopping between SB and SW shopping to see what has the better reward. Sometimes I can get both to activate. I also get GC by doing the free $5 GC with purchase at Target. I look for things we typically buy like toilet paper, sunscreen, deodorant, etc. and get the GC. I add those to my SB GCs. I also sometimes use Shopkick, but that eats up my cellular data so often forget. I have to say, this group has really helped me step up my game lately. THANK YOU!!!

Has anybody else had a problem with the Sportly App today? I can't get the videos to load! I have cleared the cache, reinstalled the app and still problems (running on an Android phone). None of the other apps are giving me trouble. Extra frustrating that this is a triple SB day!

Last summer we did a seven day disney cruise and I used almost $2,000 of sb earnings toward excursions, photos, souvenirs, rebooking, etc. My initial goal was to earn enough to cover photos. I would have been so much more stressed about spending that much on a vacation had I not had my sb earnings.

Next summer we are going to Alaska on DCL which is crazy expensive for my modest (single mom) budget. I'm using swagbucks to cover excursions (Alaska excursions are expensive compared to Caribbean excursions). Swagbucks has been so slow since January ($90/month on average compared to $125/month for the previous 18 months) but I'm hoping it picks up so my kids and I can add ziplining in Ketchikan and maybe the Tracy Arm excursion. I should be able to cover airfare with Ultimate Rewards points (Chase--mainly from sign up bonuses) and hotels (two room in Vancouver for two nights) should be covered using points from my SPG Amex sign up bonus.

So Swagbucks is great but I still use a hybrid strategy (including purchasing discounted gift cards) to make vacations which are really out of my budget possible.

Nevermind. Just got an update that they fixed it.

I also use a hybrid strategy. DH and I were able to take a 5 night Disneyland trip for my birthday in November last year. I used SPG points to cover hotel cost. I used Swagbucks and eBates earnings to cover tickets, food and souvenirs. And I used a Delta credit from a cancelled work trip to cover airfare for myself. So in total it cost us about $500 OOP for DH's flight, shuttle to/from Disneyland and pet sitting fees. We would never have even considered taking that extra trip if it wasn't for SB and travel rewards.

And before that, we went to WDW in February 2016 for 6 nights. I used SB, eBates and some gift card churning to cover a huge chunk of the cost. We paid airfare out of pocket (about $600), but our food, souvenirs, tickets and DVC fees were all covered through rewards earnings.

Since we aren't planning to go back to Disney until 2019, I have started a new strategy. The first $25 each month of SB goes towards Target gift cards and then is used to purchase Disney gift cards. With what was left over from our Disneyland trip, I have saved enough since the start of the year to completely cover our DVC dues for next year and plan to keep saving the rest towards 2019 dues + the 2019 trip. The rest of what I earn each month is being cashed out to Paypal and is going towards a fund to save for a new DVC contract. I am hoping to add another 85 points or so at Grand Floridian, which will cost maybe $10k. I started saving in December and am already up to $2,259.37, with about $1000 of that coming from SB. December was such a lucrative month, I am hoping we will see that again soon so I can really augment that account!

Yup! Totally locks up. The apps have been impossible for me lately. I have an iPhone

I have a so-called "device farm" where I have various phones & tablets that just run video apps. I used to be 100% Perk but it's absolutely tanked recently. So I switched over to SB a few weeks ago and I redeemed my first $25 Target card on Monday. I'm already almost back up to 800SB. I redeem a few codes a day, but most of my earnings are from just the video apps. I still run Perk on 2 of my devices and AppTrailers on my iPhone as it pays out really well for one app. Assuming I keep the same earning pattern up all through summer I should make a pretty good amount in time for my September trip!

I do much of my earning with nCraves, watch videos, and the apps - whatever I can get to run automatically or at least somewhat automatically. Some days they work great, and some days they are terrible. I only attempt surveys occasionally, because too often they disqualify me after they've already taken all my input and a bunch of my time. Hate that! I participate in every team challenge, since it's extra points for things I'm doing anyway. I do most Swago boards, especially the shopping ones which are pretty quick and easy.

I do order some gift cards from My Gift Cards Plus for places I'm going anyway. I check this thread almost every day to see what easy tasks others have found. I don't do signups I'd have to cancel later, as I'm afraid I'd forget or it would be a hassle. I also don't do a ton of online shopping, but when I do, I try to remember to check if the vendor offers SB. Sometimes I play the dorky little Swagasaurus Run for 10 easy SB. (Just let it crash quickly and it doesn't take long.) I go through SB for any online searches I do, because eventually I get lucky and get SB for searches I'm doing anyway.

For the past few days, I've been letting All You Can Eat run when I go to bed and even when I leave for work. I've been cleaning up on that thing! Even if it shuts itself off at some point, I usually get plenty before that happens.

I get things going as soon as I get up in the morning, and click here and there as I walk past my devices (I usually have 3 running on 3 different tasks.) It's become an automatic part of my day, but I make it work without wasting unreasonable time on it. I always manage to meet my first goal (more free money at the end of each month!). Believe it or not, I have not missed my first goal even one day since June 2015, even when I travel. Running multiple devices is the key to that for me.

Long reply to your question, but that's what I do. I'm so thankful to have discovered Swagbucks a couple years ago, here on the DIS. And I'm very grateful to all who participate on this thread, as there is a great wealth of information we all share with each other. :)

I Only watch and fill out surveys (when I qualify) and I watch here and reddit for any tips on things that are giving easy points. I don't sign up and pay for things....I think that's asking for real issues with credit cards etc. So I never am willing to do any offer that I have to give a cc #. I also have a phone farm that runs Perk! I've got 10 devices that run videos!

There are two good earners I did early this morning that credited right away so wanted to share.
First, was 'Smart for Life'. Supposedly it's in the Discover page but I didn't find it there. I did a search and then it came right up. 25 instant SB's! Just scroll down to bottom of the page and put in email address, that's all! Easy! Oh and I got lucky with that, it also gave me a 22SB search win and then got double in the search win from one if the spins on swago where I won "double in next search win"! So actually ended up with 69 SB for that, lol

The second one I did was the Shell fuel rewards card. Sign up with just a few bits i of info and it credited instantly! Did that right at 2 a.m. at reset time and started the day instantly with 100 SB!!

Thanks for posting! Worked for me :)

I already have the Shell fuel rewards card (previous SB signup :)), but I did the Smart for Life one. Easy peasy, as you said! 25 SB credited right away. Thanks for the tip!

YW!

So does anyone know which would accumulate SB's faster - letting AYCE stay running or play the Happy Hour for 8 SB's a round? Working at the computer now I could do either.
