Those nascar people are something else!

All cars driving in today's race have a special "In memory of" the Columbia astronauts sticker on their car. Right now Mariah Carey is singing a tribute to them as well. Nascar is one of the best sports in the world!!!!

I teared up when Mariah was singing, but then I would look at her outfit and laugh.

How did you like those commercials! I was LOL at so many! My favorites are the 30 million women love Nascar and the Pepsi drivers trying to be like Gordon. Too, too funny!

I liked the tribute too. and I have to say those had to be some of the best and funniest commercials I have seen in a long time. They really did a good job.

Mariah's tribute was lovely. It brought a tear to my eyes as well. She was doing a great job with the natinal anthem until the end, when she felt the need to hit a note well above the norm for the "free", showing off her range.

My fave commercial was the DEI one, where Michael Waltrip is talking to Theresa about NAPA sponser the other DEI cars. They cut to the garage where Dale, Jr and Steve Park take turns holding up Mikey's uniform, mocking the ines from his previous ads- "I'm at the wrong track", etc.

The Pepsi one with the drivers jumping in to the trucks was funny too.

Oh and I loved the fact that Coca Cola recognized the multitude of female race fans... that was pretty cool.

Everyone notice that NASCAR is the only sport that says a prayer before each event and they don't have to be politicaly correct?

During the race yesterday...my mom actually made a comment about that very thing. She said you notice that this is the only sport where they: say the pledge of alligance, sing the national anthem and say a prayer. I think it's very cool that they do all!
