Those brazen hussies--it must truly be spring

I have a lot of trees in my yard. There have to be at least 50 female cardinals sitting on the budding branches of the cottonwood and maple tree and many more on the branches of the pine trees. They are just sitting there "flirting" making this little come hither chirping sound.

I'd give anything to see a Cardinal right now. It's RAINING here, and has been for a few days. But, can't have spring and awesome flowers without rain, so we'll smile through the rain drops knowing that Cardinals and flowers are coming!!!

I don't think I've ever seen that many cardinals in one place!

We have a few pair that have made their homes around our house. They're my favorite birds!

Isn't it wonderful how brazen those hussies are? Now there will be MORE beautiful cardinals!

Worse, those hussies here have been chirping to DH. Of course, he chirps back, which I'm sure is very confusing to the birds.

Wow! That's a lot of Cardinals. We only have one female but several males. There's been days when I thought I would have to call the Animal cops!

The most brazen birds we have are the Mourning Doves. Talk about getting an education on the birds and the bees!

No cardinals here either, but lots of mockingbirds doing the same thing.

And I saw a pair of redtail hawks doing a 'chase' flight the other day with DH while driving to the dr's office. It was one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen.

Gotta love springtime in Texas, eh?

OH I am so happy to hear and see the birds back. Have only seen a few cardinals (they make me smile) but a ton of Blue Jays...my DD hates them...she calls them the mean blue birds that chase away the cute little birds. I am just so happy to see them when I go on my daily walks.
