This Wednesday, April 19, arriving 10am. Help plz.

My 6yo and I are dropping off my partner at SNA at 9am on Wednesday. Our plan is to head up to DLR, arriving around 10, upgrading my WDW Platinum pass to a Premier pass, getting my kid a 1 day ticket, and spending the day in Disneyland, riding at least Pirates and possibly Splash Mtn if she can find the courage.

Is this a silly plan? Will the park be overly crowded on Wednesday? What should we do to minimize the amount of time we wait in line for Pirates? Go at a certain time? Follow a specific touring plan? Wear a certain hat?

It sounds like a good plan. Your longest wait/line may be upgrading your pass, though. I don't know why, but the ticket booths move like snails. I think many people end up asking a lot of questions about rides and the parks in general while buying their tickets.

I'd go to Splash Mountain early as you can since you have potential to get wet and it gets cold when the sun goes down. Recent report from Easter day was that it wasn't crowded. Kicking myself today for not going yesterday. Park may be very crowded on Wednesday. It looks like all the AP levels are not blocked, but the southern California discount tickets are blocked. If it is crowded, just do the important rides and make sure you have snacks/drinks for while waiting in line. It gets very busy normally in the afternoon. Just expect that and be happy if it isn't like that.

POTC is a fast loader and moves constantly. Even when the line goes back to CO, unless there's some sort of guest misbehavior issue, it shouldn't be more than 20-25 minutes.

Probably crowded with spring breaks but get a fastpass asap for Splash Mtn. POTC is not bad at all. Even better at night like during parade, and there was no line when I was there during Fantasmic.
