This Time It's All About the Dog. A December Solo PTR - TR Link Posted 1/6!!

Me too :cool1: and you and I definitely have a Pluto collecting problem :rolleyes1 nah it's fun ! I got such a kick out of seeing things in the room that I " helped " you find...quick Ariana EBAY !! :lmao:

Oh Boy! Will I make page one??? Love all the Pluto gear...I even saw a few familiar things on those shelves (gifts from me and Carrie)!

Yep Connie, you did make the first page! And yes, I do have a few gifts on the shelves from my DIS friends. I told you I could never actually use those postcards as that would mean giving them away. :rotfl:

And I must say...it's about time you got another solo trip. :rolleyes1 After all, Jim sort of invited himself along on the last one you tried to plan. :sad2: Non-Disney lover...yeah right! :rotfl:

I timed this one so that I was absolutely sure he couldn't come along. No way he would take time off during December. I did almost end up with some traveling companions. My Brother & SIL thought about coming for a while but they decided two trips was a little too much for them this year.

I'm here and ready to read all about the plans for your solo trip! Holy smokes! You weren't kiddin' around when you said that you have a large Pluto collection. I'm impressed!

Hi Lisa! Thanks for reading along. Yep, it's a bit large. :rotfl2:

I'm back and read up intros.

HOLY BATMAN that is a LOT of PLUTOS!:lmao::lmao::lmao:

That's definitely a good way to put it! Like I said to Mo I have a bit of a collection problem.

I'm here and ready to follow along! Jeez! That's a whole lotta Pluto! We have a Mickey themed kitchen but we don't have that much haha.

Hi! Thanks for reading along. Someday I would like to convert my kitchen or maybe bathroom to Disney. I look at the stuff every time I go to WDW. Of course I'm not sure what Jim would say about that.

Hi there, of course I am joining in! :goodvibes Always love seeing pics of your adorable pups.

Hi Alexis, thanks for reading along.

Excited to hear the plans for your solo trip. I've gotten so used to always having a report of yours to read that it's strange to hear you say you won't be back to Disney for a while after this!!

Well, there are a few things in the works already that just may prove that wrong. :thumbsup2

Wow your Pluto collection is something else! Very impressive! I also love all the non Pluto stuff thrown in there, I spotted a Sleeping Beauty snow globe that looks so pretty with the fairies flying along the side

Thanks! I do have a lot of other Disney stuff thrown in. I love the snow globes and if you look through the collection you will see some from a lot of different Disney movies.

I'm excited for another PTR, especially when it's for Christmas at WDW!! :yay:

Hi! I cannot wait to see the Christmas stuff again, especially the Osborne Lights.

I love your collection! Maybe I missed it, but I think I may have a Pluto that isn't in your collection. My Mom and I went to Disney World for a Mother/Daughter trip the Christmas before I got married and she bought me this giant Pluto who is a pajama keeper--his belly unzips and fits grown up pajamas inside :) He is has the softest fur, and I still sleep with him sometimes when my DH isn't home!!

Nope, don't have a pajama keeper. Guess I need to head to Ebay to see if I can find one. :lmao:

Can't wait to hear all about your plans for Christmas at the MOST Magical place on Earth!!! pixiedust:

I definitely have a whole lot of plans for this trip.

I'm here (finally!). That is such an impressive collection of Pluto things, I don't know how you keep track of it all! :faint:

Hi Stephanie! Me neither. As a matter of fact I have purchased things twice in the past. Especially with the stuffed ones, I just have so many.

I'm here! :thumbsup2

Hi Danielle!

Okay, I'm totally jealous of your whole Pluto room / shrine. I just have a few shelves of Donald stuff, because at some point I told myself I needed to stop buying so much because I didn't have the space for it! :lmao:

I've tried to tell myself that too but I have no self control when it comes to Pluto.

I'm here. Sorry for being late but we are having internet problems.

Hi! No worries, I haven't gotten very far on this one yet. I hope you got your internet problems worked out.

Your Pluto room is AMAZING! A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!!!!

Thanks!

Congrats on having another trip in the works.

Only 33 days to go!

Me too :cool1: and you and I definitely have a Pluto collecting problem :rolleyes1 nah it's fun ! I got such a kick out of seeing things in the room that I " helped " you find...quick Ariana EBAY !! :lmao:

Hmmmmm, is it really a problem if we admit we have the problem? :confused3 :rotfl:

Any time you want to e-mail me an Ebay auction go right ahead. I don't always make it on there every day so I really appreciate the heads up you give me.

I fly out of Atlanta on Saturday, November 29th at 10:30 am. This is actually a little later than I normally fly out. Instead of getting up at 4 am I’ll probably get to sleep in till 6 am. The airport is about an hour away so we will leave the house at 7:30 am so I can be at the airport at 8:30 am. Being a holiday weekend, I want to make sure I have plenty of time to get through security. I’ve been meaning to do the TSA pre-check so I can get through security quicker but that is a bit of a long process so I don’t know if I’ll get it done before this trip.

I land at right at noon and I hope it won’t be very long before I’m seeing this site.

I don’t know if I will want to get something to eat at that point or wait till I get to my resort. I have a dinner ADR at 6:15 pm so I may want to eat sooner rather than later.

Eventually I will make my way down to the DME buses and hopefully will get a good enough seat to get some pictures of this baby.

I'm hoping my room will be ready when I arrive at All Star Movies. In all of my previous trips since 2010, my room has always been ready no matter what time I get there so I hope my luck continues. I plan on hanging out at the resort for a bit so that I can get all unpacked when my suitcase arrives. I’ve got a late night coming up and I don’t want to deal with unpacking when I get in that night. So maybe I will wait to eat and just get a small meal at the resort so I don’t spoil my dinner.

Somewhere between 3 pm and 4 pm I plan on heading out to catch a bus to my first park of the trip. And if you’ve read my previous TRs, you will know that I am headed here:

I really don’t like starting a trip at any other park besides Magic Kingdom.

My first FP+ on this day is from 4:35 – 5:35 and it’s for the Jungle Cruise.

Well actually I should say the Jingle Cruise because that’s what it will be at that time. Depending on what time I arrive at MK, I’m hoping to catch the JC at the start of the FP+. Then I will spend a little time in Adventureland, maybe catching my favorite ride, Pirates.

Or maybe just visit some old friends in the Tiki Room.

A little before 6 pm, I need to make my way back down Main Street for my 6:15 pm dinner ADR. I will be eating at Tony’s and it will by my first time trying this restaurant. I know Tony’s gets some pretty mixed reviews but want to try it for myself and form my own opinion.

After dinner I will head to Liberty Square for my next FP+ for the Haunted Mansion from 7:10 – 8:10 pm. I want to get as many rides on the HM this night as possible as it will be closing December 1st for renovations and will be down for the rest of my trip.

My last FP+ for the evening is for 7 Dwarves Mine Train from 8:20 – 9:20 pm.

After that last FP+ I’m not really sure what I will do. MK is open till 2 am with 12 am – 2 am being EMH but I don’t know if I will stay quite that late as I am definitely doing rope drop the next day. It will probably depend on the crowds and lines but I hope to ride as many rides as possible. Maybe I’ll make it onto Dumbo:

Or IASW:

I would love to take a train ride through the Old West.

Or maybe travel into space on a rocket ship.

Whatever I do, I know I will have lots of fun. Of course I will also be drawn into the stores to see if there is any new Pluto merchandise to add to that huge collection of mine. I’m not expecting anything new since I was just there but maybe I will get lucky.

One thing I will not be doing on this night is watching Wishes from in front of the castle. I may try to catch it from Fantasyland if I time it right. I want to use the time during the show to catch some short lines. No worries though, I have two, maybe three other nights planned to watch the show.

I hope I am patient enough to wait for my suitcase to come before I head to MK so that when I finally make it back to my room I can fall straight into bed.

Up Next: Day 2, Sunday, November 30th, 2014

Sounds like a great first day, especially since it will be spent at MK! I think it's a good idea to use firework time to take advantage of short lines, especially since you will be back to see Wishes on another night. Hopefully Tony's will be good! I too have heard mixed things but it's definitely better to form your own opinion!

I love going to Magic Kingdom on my first day :goodvibes No other park gives me that magical vacation feeling!

We have only eaten at Tony's once and were lucky enough to get a table right on the porch. We got to see the MSEP go by while we were eating, which was pretty awesome :woohoo: We all ordered the spaghetti and meatballs because c'mon, you're at Tony's! My brother even nose-nudged a meatball to his girlfriend (awww ) My Dad ordered the steak. We were all pretty disappointed with the spaghetti (the sauce was watery, not so good and not much flavor) while my Dad just raved about his steak!! Hopefully you have a great experience.

Nice set of rides and FP+ selections for the first day. Hope you enjoy Tony's.

I'm finally here! I was in shock at your Pluto room!!! I knew you collected, but wowsers!! Thanks for sharing all that awesomeness!

Your first day sounds like a great plan. If you think you'll have trouble waiting on your luggage, you could just go to baggage claim and take it with you on ME. Or, you could pack your necessities for bedtime in your carryon and there would be no need to unpack when you get back from the park. I know I would have a really hard time waiting to get to the MK!!

Dan and I went in Dec of 2012 also. Wonder if we were there at the same time. We went Nov 28 to Dec 6 that year. It was a great time to be there. Of course I just love the Christmas decorations and the whole vibe of the parks and resorts during that time.

I'm glad you'll get to ride HM before it closes for referb! That would bum me out if I didn't get to ride that one! Sounds like you've got it covered though.

Well, now I have to go sub in your TR, and then I MUST get off of this computer!!!!!! Have a great day!

Aww! this sounds heavenly! Count me in to some people who LIKE Tony's!!

Take TONS of pictures!!! your rockin it!

Love your Day 1 plans. I'll be curious to hear what you think of Tony's. We've done it two years in a row for lunch and we are done with it. But I don't blame you for wanting to form your own opinion.

Sounds like a great first day! I agree with you about trying somewhere for yourself to form your own opinion! I ate at Tony's my first trip ever to WDW, 17 years ago. I don't remember much except that I got pizza and liked it.

As much as I love Wishes, it sure does suck the people out of the lines and make them shorter. :rotfl: I do like to form my own opinion on everything. I'm a pretty simple eater too so I think Tony's will be right up my alley.

I love going to Magic Kingdom on my first day :goodvibes No other park gives me that magical vacation feeling!

I feel exactly the same way. I always try to start there if possible.

We have only eaten at Tony's once and were lucky enough to get a table right on the porch. I would love to eat out on the porch if the weather is right! I'm going to be way too early though for the MSEP as it doesn't run till 9 pm that night. I'm thinking of ordering the Chicken Parm so hopefully the sauce will be better that night than what you experienced.

Nice set of rides and FP+ selections for the first day. Hope you enjoy Tony's.

Thanks, you can't go wrong with many of the rides at MK! I do hope I like Tony's.

I'm finally here! I was in shock at your Pluto room!!! I knew you collected, but wowsers!! Thanks for sharing all that awesomeness!

You are welcome, I love to share it.

I have thought about picking up my suitcases at the airport but I'm not sure I want to deal with them. An as for carrying on what I need, well I'm not sure I could get it all into a quart sized bag. I'm just a little too high maintenance although I don't think you could tell that by looking at me. :rotfl: I think I should be OK if I stop to get something to eat at the resort right after check-in. Hopefully my suitcases will be there by the time I get done eating. Of course if my room isn't ready, none of this will matter.

Dan and I went in Dec of 2012 also. Wonder if we were there at the same time. We went Nov 28 to Dec 6 that year. It was a great time to be there. Of course I just love the Christmas decorations and the whole vibe of the parks and resorts during that time.

We did have some cross over days! We were there 11/25 - 12/1. I had only just started on the DIS right before that trip. We did run into Nini (NiniMorris) on that trip. She was my very first DIS meet!

I'm glad you'll get to ride HM before it closes for referb! That would bum me out if I didn't get to ride that one! Sounds like you've got it covered though.

Yeah, when I first saw that it was closing I was worried. But luckily I will get to ride it on the one night before it closes.

Well, now I have to go sub in your TR, and then I MUST get off of this computer!!!!!! Have a great day!

Thanks, hope you had a great one too.

Aww! this sounds heavenly! Count me in to some people who LIKE Tony's!!

I really hope I do like Tony's! You know when I'm by myself I don't do anything but take photos! :rotfl2:

So, hmmmm, it seems like a lot of times you and I have the opposite opinion on restaurants so maybe that's a good sign and I will actually like Tony's. :lmao:

Sounds like a great first day! I agree with you about trying somewhere for yourself to form your own opinion! I ate at Tony's my first trip ever to WDW, 17 years ago. I don't remember much except that I got pizza and liked it.

Thanks! I don't think I'm going to go for pizza. I've been leaning towards the Chicken Parm to try.

On Sunday, I will be heading to Hollywood Studios for the day. I am going to bring my breakfast with me again so I can eat quickly in the room rather than heading to the food court. I rarely eat much for breakfast any ways so a bowl of cereal or a bagel is just fine with me.

I wonder if the hat will still be there or if they will have started to take it down?

If you’ve read my previous TRs, you will know that I have a great love for TSM so I will be getting to the park early and doing the TSM dash so that I can hopefully get in more than one ride that morning.

I actually do have a FP+ from 9 am – 10 am but considering it’s for the Muppets I really don’t intend on using it. I really struggled with the FP+s at HS because there is just not much in tier 2 that needs one. Star Tours and TOT are really the only two and since I can’t ride Star Tours (it makes me really sick) I’m quite limited there. For that reason I have several “throw away” FP+s during the week since the system won’t let you make less than three.

Once I get my fill of TSM or the line gets too long or my arm gives out, I will head down Sunset Blvd to use my second FP+ of the day for TOT from 10 am – 11 am.

My last scheduled FP+ for the day is back at TSM from 11 am – 12 pm. I’m sure I’ll have time in between the two FPs but I’m not sure what I will do. I won’t be riding RnRC as I find it a bit too rough for me anymore. HS is quite a mess right now with a lot of stuff closed. I read recently that the Jack Sparrow show is closing at the beginning of November, not that I have a desire to see that again any way. I need to get in line for Pluto sometime since I want to catch him in all four parks.

I want to do a drawing class or maybe hit up GMA before the line gets too long.

Maybe I’ll even try for a 4th FP for GMA to save some time. Since it’s a weekend day and HS has evening EMH that night I’m expecting huge crowds.

I have a lunch ADR at Sci Fi at 12:50 pm. I enjoyed our dinner so much in February that I really wanted to go back again.

After lunch I may try to catch a few shows. I haven’t seen Beauty and the Beast since 2010 or Indiana Jones since 2011 so I would like to catch both of those. Indiana Jones for sure because of the rumors flying around that it will be closing. I also have a very special seat for the Frozen Sing-a-long but we’ll get to that in a moment.

My original plans for the evening were to be on the Streets of America to see the lighting of the Osborne Lights and then spend about an hour wandering through the lights. I was then going to have dinner at Pizza Planet before calling it a night a little early since I’m planning on being out late the night before.

But then Disney came out with the Frozen Holiday Premium Package and I jumped on it before I even though twice. I had watched with longing as Disney released the special Frozen packages over the summer and also the Villains Soiree. I was so sad I didn’t get to participate in one of those parties.

So what does this package come with? First off, you get reserved seating for the Frozen sing-a-long. Mom and I did it with a FP+ a few weeks ago and we really enjoyed the show. I did have a FP+ for it this trip but cancelled it once I booked the party. I will have to stop in at Guest Relations sometime that morning to get my credentials and select a time for the Frozen show. I really hope its awesome seating for the show because even with FP+ Mom and I were about 15 rows back.

Secondly you get to go to a dessert party during the Osborne Lights with all you can drink non-alcoholic and alcohol beverages and Frozen themed desserts. You also get a holiday lithograph and Frozen pin. So do I think it’s going to be worth the $89? Probably not since I’m not a heavy drinker and will only have one or two drinks at the most. Am I going to keep the reservation? Yep, I’m a sucker. I just don’t want to miss out on yet another special party that Disney is offering.

So instead of dinner at Pizza Planet, I’ll probably just have some kind of savory snack in the late afternoon. Maybe a Mickey pretzel since I’m not a huge fan of popcorn. Anyone else have a suggestion? I can check in for the party starting at 6 pm, and it lasts from 7 pm till 8:30. You can enter and exit the party area as many times as you would like during that time frame. So I will probably watch the lighting then go check in for the party.

I plan on heading out of the park as soon as the party is over since I will probably be pretty tired by then and I have yet another early morning the next day. I’m not going to watch Fantasmic this night but do hope to catch it later in the week.

Ahh Belle Notte' At Tony's the chicken parm is a good choice :thumbsup2 I think you'll like it. Do you like pistachio or hazelnut ? The desserts there are very good too.

Hi there! :wave2: I love reading about Solo trips! Looks like your plans are off to a great start! And holy smokes, your Pluto collection is out of control! I wonder if there's some sort of Guinness record for Pluto collecting?! :rotfl:

I think the hat should still be there! I thought they weren't taking it down until the beginning of next year, unless I am wrong!

I think it's great that you're deign the Frozen package! I am curious to hear how it will be set up and what kind of view of the lights you will have.

I love the cream cheese pretzels! But I don't know if that's up your alley or not :)

Sounds like a good day at HS!

Sounds like an awesome DHS day!! I totally agree with you feeling left out as Disney was announcing Villains Unleashed and the Frozen Summer Spectacular details--I was soooo bummed and wishing I could be there!! I read on someone else's trip report (I can't even remember whose at this moment!) about the VIP party with drinks and adorable little Frozen treats. There were some cute little Olafs, as I recall!

We have never made it to Sci-Fi but I feel like it's something I should probably clue my husband into because he and my DS, 5, would probably love it. :thumbsup2

Day Two plans sound awesome! I loved the Frozen Sing Along and so glad we did it last month.

I am no where near that point in my TR, but when we did the Backstage Safari at Animal Kingdom, the tour guide said that both Indiana Jones and Lights Motor Action will be gone for the new Star Wars area.

I have to admit...I will NOT miss the hat. And the reason it is blocking is some legal issue with the Chinese Theater at the Great Movie Ride.
