This Time It's All About the Dog. A December Solo PTR - TR Link Posted 1/6!!

I also heard that the hat won't start to be dismantled until early next year, so it should still be there for your visit!

The Frozen package sounds cool, though I won't do it. George hates Frozen, so I won't put him through that! :rotfl: I can't wait for your recap of it!

I LOVE your plans!!! Frozen thing sounds fun! Yet I'm pretty frozen-ed out.
Kristoph and Sven are what keeps me going with it.

Oh the Osborn lights... no words can describe this. I cannot wait to see them again one day!!!

light anything? In Disney?!?! STARRING ROLLS! nothing light still but have a lighter menu then anywhere i believe?

Happy Halloween from WDW :goodvibes

Ok not quite yet, later today. As we our always on the hunt for Pluto I found out in addition to lots of Halloween things going on at Ft Wilderness, there will be characters meeting at Pioneer Hall. I love that place and will be having dinner there. ( not HDDR just the regular Trail's End Restaurant ) If I see our buddy I'll tell him " Hi ! " from you ! :goodvibes

Great day 2 plans. I'll be interested to see if you think the Frozen Sing-a-long was worth it.

I hope that the hat is still there for your visit. It will be sad to see it come down and I wonder what Disney has decided to do instead. I expect that there will be a park icon....right?

Ahh Belle Notte' At Tony's the chicken parm is a good choice :thumbsup2 I think you'll like it. Do you like pistachio or hazelnut ? The desserts there are very good too.

Nope, don't like either of those, you know how picky I am. :rotfl: For desserts it's really got to be chocolate for me.

Hi there! :wave2: I love reading about Solo trips! Looks like your plans are off to a great start! And holy smokes, your Pluto collection is out of control! I wonder if there's some sort of Guinness record for Pluto collecting?! :rotfl:

Welcome! Thanks for reading along. I am sure there is someone out there that has a bigger collection than I do.

I think the hat should still be there! I thought they weren't taking it down until the beginning of next year, unless I am wrong!

I think you are right, I just hadn't had a chance to actually read any of the articles about it, just saw the headlines on Facebook.

I think it's great that you're deign the Frozen package! I am curious to hear how it will be set up and what kind of view of the lights you will have.

Thanks, I'm curious to see that myself.

I love the cream cheese pretzels! But I don't know if that's up your alley or not :)

No, unfortunately I'm not a fan of cream cheese. I think it's going to have to be just a plain pretzel for me.

Sounds like a good day at HS!

Thanks, I hope it will be.

Sounds like an awesome DHS day!! I totally agree with you feeling left out as Disney was announcing Villains Unleashed and the Frozen Summer Spectacular details--I was soooo bummed and wishing I could be there!! I read on someone else's trip report (I can't even remember whose at this moment!) about the VIP party with drinks and adorable little Frozen treats. There were some cute little Olafs, as I recall!

I hope they have some awesome desserts. They were offering a couple of drinks near the snow playground and they sounded really good. Mom and I thought about getting one but never got around to it. I hope they offer those at the party.

We have never made it to Sci-Fi but I feel like it's something I should probably clue my husband into because he and my DS, 5, would probably love it. :thumbsup2

Sci Fi does get some mixed reviews but I personally love it. Love the atmosphere and the food. If you do eat there someday, make sure you request a car when you check in. They do have some regular tables that aren't as fun as the car tables.

Day Two plans sound awesome! I loved the Frozen Sing Along and so glad we did it last month.

Mom and I really enjoyed it too. I hope the reserved seating for the package is worth it.

I am no where near that point in my TR, but when we did the Backstage Safari at Animal Kingdom, the tour guide said that both Indiana Jones and Lights Motor Action will be gone for the new Star Wars area.

I was kind of figuring both of those would be going eventually. I hope they don't close them too soon though because there is so little to do at HS right now as it is. I've seen LMA enough recently but I want to catch Indiana Jones since it's been a while.

I have to admit...I will NOT miss the hat. And the reason it is blocking is some legal issue with the Chinese Theater at the Great Movie Ride.

I'm not sure how I feel about it. I know I've been to the park when it wasn't there but I don't really remember. So for me, the hat really represents HS to me. Hopefully they don't replace it with something worse!

I also heard that the hat won't start to be dismantled until early next year, so it should still be there for your visit!

Thanks for the info! I saw the headlines but was so busy with my MIL I never had a chance to read any of the articles about it.

The Frozen package sounds cool, though I won't do it. George hates Frozen, so I won't put him through that! :rotfl: I can't wait for your recap of it!

That's a bummer that George hates Frozen. Guess you aren't taking him to the sing-a-long then? :rotfl2:

Thanks! Hope you had a great night despite the cold.

I LOVE your plans!!! Frozen thing sounds fun! Yet I'm pretty frozen-ed out.
Kristoph and Sven are what keeps me going with it.

I am a little over it myself, I'm more interested in the food than the sing-a-long. ::yes::

Oh the Osborn lights... no words can describe this. I cannot wait to see them again one day!!!

They are one of the reasons I booked this trip! Even though Mom and I spent an hour looking at them in 2012, I didn't feel like I saw enough!

light anything? In Disney?!?! STARRING ROLLS! nothing light still but have a lighter menu then anywhere i believe?

If I was looking for something sweet, I would definitely head to Starring Roles! But I'm trying to avoid sweets since I will be eating a large quantity of them that night. I'm thinking a Mickey pretzel will be my best bet.

Happy Halloween from WDW :goodvibes

Thanks, hope you had a great day!

Oh, that sounds like fun! I hope you had a wonderful meal and got to hug our boy.

Great day 2 plans. I'll be interested to see if you think the Frozen Sing-a-long was worth it.

Yeah, I'll be interested to see if I get my money's worth too.

I hope that the hat is still there for your visit. It will be sad to see it come down and I wonder what Disney has decided to do instead. I expect that there will be a park icon....right?

I think it will be now that I've had time to go back and actually read about it. I'm hoping it's not some big Star Wars thing. I love Star Wars but don't really want to see that as the parks icon. Maybe they will just make the Earful Tower the icon?

On Monday I will once again be up bright and early because I’m headed to Animal Kingdom for morning EMH.

I will head straight to Expedition Everest to face the Yeti!

I will probably only ride once because as much as I love this ride, the backwards part gets my stomach a little bit. I do have a FP+ for later in the day.

I’m not sure if I’ll head to the Safari next or down into Dinoland for a ride on Dinosaur.

I do love Dinosaur but I’ve ridden it so many times over the last few years that I’m a little bored with it. But at the same time, I don’t expect to be back for a while so I might have to go for it. Maybe I’ll even head to the Maharajah Jungle Trek in hopes of it being less crowded at that time of day.

No matter what I do for those first few hours, I will be headed back towards Africa by 10 am so I can catch the first Festival of the Lion King show. Mom and I missed this a few weeks ago and it is been far too long since I saw my Tumble Monkeys.

My first FP+ is from 10:50 – 11:50 am and is for the Safari.

Depending on what time I get done on the Safari, I will probably walk the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail next because, well, this:

There are two new baby Gorillas and I want to see how much they’ve grown since October.

Lunch will be at Flame Tree of course. I try to eat there every trip although Mom and I did Tusker House last trip.

I have my second FP+ for right after lunch from 1:10 – 2:10 pm and it is for Mickey and Minnie. Last year they were in their Christmas gear in December so I’m really hoping they will be again.

Then I will head back into Dinoland to meet my favorite dog. That way I can check off park #2 in my quest to meet him in all four parks. I also like meeting Goofy there in his Santa suit.

My third FP+ for the day is back at EE from 2:15 – 3:15. If I time it correctly, I hope to catch it towards the end of the time and then head to the last Finding Nemo show which I think is sometime around 4 pm or maybe a little later. I haven’t seen that show since 2010 and want to catch it again.

After Nemo is over, I will be heading out of the park and hopping to my second park of the day, MK.

I’ll need to get some dinner pretty soon after I arrive and I’m planning on heading to my favorite CS in MK, Columbia Harbor House.

Not sure what I will do between dinner and about 9 pm when my next planned activity will be. Maybe I’ll hit a ride or two if the lines aren’t too bad or maybe I’ll just shop.

So what is this activity I’m going to around 9 pm? Why, the Wishes Dessert Party of course!

I say around 9 pm because I’m really not sure what time it actually starts. My reservation says 6:15 pm which I know is not right as Wishes is at 10 pm that night. No clue why they are doing it that way now but I was told to just call a few weeks before my trip to get an actual time. It sure messes with dinner plans if you have any. The dessert party did not open right at the 180 day mark so I made a dinner ADR just in case I didn’t get the party. But the system made me cancel the dinner ADR since it was within an hour of the 6:15 time on my dessert party reservation. I probably would not have kept the ADR anyways because it was at Chef Mickey’s and I really did not want to do a buffet and a dessert party on the same night. Oh and did you notice I’m doing dessert parties two nights in a row? I really didn’t think that one through too well!

MK is open till 12 am but I’m pretty sure I will head out right after the party. I expect I will be exhausted by this point and will need to get to bed. No worries because I have the next day scheduled to sleep in! Something I’ve never done before on a Disney trip.

EMH at AK, woo hoo! I hope you do get to meet Mickey & Minnie in their Christmas gear! Sounds like a good morning and afternoon at AK.

Sounds like it will be a nice, leisurely evening at MK. How exciting that you will be attending the dessert party :)

WoW! What an action packed day!!! I know you will get everything you want done!!! Baby Gorillas are ADORABLE!!!

Sounds like a great day!

I hadn't heard about the new baby gorillas, I cannot wait to see them next month :goodvibes

Back to back dessert parties, sounds wonderful! :lmao: I would love to get a Wishes Dessert Party, but nothing is available whenever I check. I do agree that the way they are booking it so early is horrible, since you cannot have a decent-timed dinner ressie and the dessert party both booked.

AK and MK. What a fantastic day! That will be some fantastic day to get FoLK, FN AND Wishes Dessert Party in. Great plan.

Trying out morning EMH is kind of new for me. We did do them at HS in May but that was the first time. In the past I've always avoided EMH parks because of the increased crowds but hopefully AK won't be too bad.

The Wishes dessert party is one of the things I'm looking forward to the most during this trip!

WoW! What an action packed day!!! I know you will get everything you want done!!! Baby Gorillas are ADORABLE!!!

I does seem kind of packed but that's just me. When I'm by myself I just want to keep going! The baby Gorillas were super cute and I can't wait to see them again.

Sounds like a great day!

I hadn't heard about the new baby gorillas, I cannot wait to see them next month :goodvibes

They were so cute, you definitely need to go see them! I remember reading something but I thought it was just one, not two. We only got to see one of them when we were there in October but the CM said the other mother was just around the corner so they have them both out.

Back to back dessert parties, sounds wonderful! :lmao: I would love to get a Wishes Dessert Party, but nothing is available whenever I check. I do agree that the way they are booking it so early is horrible, since you cannot have a decent-timed dinner ressie and the dessert party both booked.

It does sound wonderful to me, I just hope my sensitive stomach holds up. :rotfl: Keep checking, you never know, you might get lucky. I think there may be a thread somewhere on the DIS specifically for dessert party cancellations so you might want to find it.

AK and MK. What a fantastic day! That will be some fantastic day to get FoLK, FN AND Wishes Dessert Party in. Great plan.

I always try to plan something in the evening after AK because it closes so early. Usually I go to DTD but it just worked out so perfectly this trip to do the dessert party.

I have no plans on this day until my lunch ADR at the Grand Floridian Café at 1:15 pm. If for some reason I haven’t exhausted myself at this point, maybe I’ll get up and head to MK. The only reason I’m thinking about heading to MK on this morning is because I only have one rope drop day scheduled for MK. But most likely I will try to get caught up on my sleep a bit because I will be out very late on this night.

Once I get up and moving, I will head to MK then to the Grand Floridian for lunch (best picture I can find at the moment in my collection).

The Grand Floridian Café is a new restaurant for me. As a matter of fact, I have never had a meal at the GF before. Of course I plan on spending some time before or after lunch checking out this year’s version of the Gingerbread House.

Then I will monorail to the Contempory where I plan on having a cupcake for dessert and checking out the decorations there.

I’m not sure if I will complete the monorail tour with a stop at the Poly or not. Mom and I were there in October and it was just sad with all the construction so I’ll probably just skip over it and head to MK.

I am going to MVMCP this evening and I have three pretty tightly scheduled FP+ to use before the party. Buzz Lightyear from 3:15 – 4:15.

Space Mountain from 4:15 – 5:15.

And Peter Pan from 5:15 – 6:15.

Somewhere during that time I will need to check in for the party and get my wristband. The map and times schedule was just released so I’ve put together a preliminary schedule for the night. Once the first party happens later this week and more details come out, I’ll probably tweak it a bit.

Ride Peter Pan right at 5:15 pm. Grab a snack and get in line for the 7 Dwarves.

Head to Fantasyland and get in line for Scrooge McDuck.

Head to Fronterland, quick stop in the pin store to pick up a party exclusive pin then to Diamond Horseshoe dance party to see Big Al. Hopefully I will be able to get a picture with him.

I’m hoping to get most of that stuff done by 8:30 then I will head out to Main Street to find a spot for Celebrate the Magic at 9:15 and Wishes at 9:30.

Celebrate the Season show at 10:05 pm

2nd parade at 10:30 pm.

Head back to Fantasyland for more meet and greets, focusing on characters that I haven’t met before. Possibly the Winnie the Pooh gang or some of the Princesses/Princes. I’m thinking about the Pooh gang because I’ve never meet Piglet or Eeyore. As for the princesses I’ve met all of the ones out that night except for Rapunzel so maybe I’ll try for that line. It will probably depend on how brave I am feeling at that moment as I tend to get very shy around the face characters.

Head back up Main Street around 11:45 for a final meet and greet with Mickey then head out for the night.

So, what do you think? Am I trying to jam too much in there? I’m mostly trying to get in the stuff that you can’t do outside of the party. I haven’t included the Totally Tomorrowland Christmas show (doesn’t really interest me but maybe that will change after I read some reviews), Frozen Holiday Wish (planning on catching that on a regular night so no need to see it during the party) or a meet with Jack Skellington (never saw the movie so I have no desire to meet him).

No i think you can do it..

Like you said your solo and totally can get a lot done by yourself! which is going to be fantastic!!!!

Cannot wait to see your pictures of all the resorts!

the poor poly.. so so sad.

Sounds like a good afternoon of resort hopping!

YAY MVMCP! I'm sure you're gonna have such a blast! I definitely don't think you're trying to jam too much in. The only problem you may have is meeting the Pooh gang. I believe their last set is at 10:30 (They usually meet on the half hour for 30 mins sets, so 7:30, 8:30, 9:30, 10:30) and I know that line usually gets cut quickly, so you may not have time to see them after the second parade. If you really wanna meet them I would maybe do them earlier in the night and save the dance party for later in the night since that runs until midnight.

Love your Animal Kingdom plans. That has quickly moved up to a tie for my second favorite park. We never got to the trails this past trip and I really want to see the gorillas next trip.

And your plans for the next day sound exhausting! I think you are doing the party right...one thing over another...in your case, characters over rides. I've found with the last two parties (and we won't be going back) that you have to choose one over the other.

I think you should be able to get all those things done at MVMCP. Better to have it planned rather than not. :thumbsup2

No i think you can do it..

I think so too, it will be hectic but fun!

Like you said your solo and totally can get a lot done by yourself! which is going to be fantastic!!!!

That's why I love my solo trips!

Cannot wait to see your pictures of all the resorts!

I promise to take more this time than I did in October!

the poor poly.. so so sad.

Totally agree with you there. :(

Sounds like a good afternoon of resort hopping!

Thanks!

I was afraid of that with the WTP gang. I need to go back and look up all the character times now that the parties have started. Big Al is my priority of course so I may just choose the dance party and forget about the WTP gang.

Love your Animal Kingdom plans. That has quickly moved up to a tie for my second favorite park. We never got to the trails this past trip and I really want to see the gorillas next trip.

I cannot wait to see the baby gorillas again, they were too cute!

Ah well, it wouldn't be a Disney trip if I didn't end up exhausted! :rotfl: I definitely want to focus on stuff you can only do during the party so I doubt I will do any rides.

I think you should be able to get all those things done at MVMCP. Better to have it planned rather than not. :thumbsup2

Yeah, I don't think I would ever try to hit one of the parties without a solid plan. Just way too much to do in such a short time.

This past weekend, I started packing for this trip! I matched up all of my short sleeved Pluto shirts with a plain long sleeve shirt to wear underneath depending on weather. I then will pack each set together so they are easy to pull out of my suitcase. I may not need the long sleeved shirts but I’d rather have them in case it’s cooler that week. I took pictures and will post my shirt of the day going forward. So I need to catch you up on the first few days.

As you remember, I stated in my first post that I was going to wear only Pluto shirts this trip. Well I’ve since decided I’m going to have to cheat a little bit because I found two awesome non-Pluto shirts that just need to be worn in the parks. So for my arrival day on 11/29 I will be wearing this shirt.

I’ve had that shirt for a bit but it just hadn’t made it into the rotation on a previous trip and that was not acceptable.

My shirt for HS on 11/30 will be this one.

Monday, 12/1 I will be at AK & MK and will be wearing this shirt.

On Tuesday, 12/2 I will be wearing two shirts for the Christmas Party. First shirt is this custom.

But when I go to visit the Country Bears at the dance party, I will be changing into this shirt that I got recently.

I couldn’t meet the bears without a shirt to commemorate the occasion could I? I’ll probably change right back to the Pluto one after I’m done at the dance party.

With that, we are now caught up with the days I’ve already talked about so I will post each shirt going forward with the details of each day.

I took pictures of a few other items I have all ready to go in my suitcases. First are my trading Vinylmation. I gave Vinylmation trading a try in October and really enjoyed it so I got some more traders for this trip.

And of course I’ve got my pin lanyard all loaded and my extra pins ready to pack.

I’ve also got my Pluto bags all ready to go for the trip. I have three other bags, Lion King, Crush and Vampire Mickey but I think I’m just going to take the Pluto ones this trip since I’m wearing almost all Pluto gear.

I’m bringing my Disney backpack as I’ll probably need it the night of the Christmas party to carry my extra shirt.

The next items may or may not make it into the suitcase, it will all depend on the weather. If it turns out to be colder than expected, I will need my Pluto hat and gloves.

Since I will be bringing cereal for breakfast I definitely need my Mickey bowl.

A couple other essentials - ponchos, a night light for the room, an extra battery case for my phone and freezer bags in case I bring home something liquid in a glass container like hot sauce for the DH.

Supplies to decorate my window at my resort. I looked everywhere for Disney window clings but didn’t have any luck so I just got some generic ones and a Mickey stocking to hang. Jim thinks I’m a little nuts for doing this but Mom and I saw a lot of windows decorated for Halloween so I wanted to do something.

My magic band finally came on Monday. It was pretty late this time, not sure why. I was getting ready to call about it when I got the notice on Saturday morning that it shipped. I went with red for Christmas.

And will be dressing it in its own “ugly” sweater for the week.

I’m pretty sure that I’m going to go with the red and green one.

I don’t have my bag tags yet and I’m getting a little stressed about that. I know I can just pick up my bags or even stop at the Magical Express desk and give them the airline tags and they will still pick up but I really like the convenience of not having to stop on the way to the bus. I can’t call and check on them though because I used a TA this trip. I have never done this before but my Aunt (Mom’s sister) became a Disney TA and I felt obligated to use her. Believe me, I did NOT want to. I prefer to have control of every aspect of my trips and I did not really trust my Aunt to take care of everything. I still did everything myself except for the initial booking. My Mom got a text from her while we were at Disney in October letting us know that she had not made her numbers during probation and was therefore fired from the company she was working for. So now I’m stuck with a total stranger doing my trip. I talked to her on the phone and she seems pretty nice. I was very upfront with the fact that I will not be using her in the future so she didn’t get the wrong idea. On Monday I got the following packet from her.

Pretty nice, huh? But the one thing I really wanted to see (bag tags!) was not in the package. I e-mailed her right away and she said that they had not received them yet. So now I’m back to impatiently waiting for them.

OK, deep breath and move on………

Two more photos for you before I end this post and move onto the next day in the trip. While I was running from store to store yesterday looking for the Disney window clings (I went to 7 different stores!) I found the following beauty at CVS.

Sorry it’s so blurry, I took the picture quickly this morning with my phone. I’ve always wanted a Mickey waffle maker and when I saw this one for $29.99, I couldn’t resist. Jim thinks I’ll never use it but he is mistaken. I probably would have made some for dinner yesterday but I didn’t get a chance to stop and get some waffle mix. It will definitely be used this coming weekend.

I also stopped at the Disney store where I got a new Pluto mug which I forgot to photograph and also picked up some more Vinylmation boxes. I got two from Mickey’s Christmas Carol (on the left) and two from the Big Hero 6 set (on the right).

Yep, I’m officially addicted to opening those boxes! Jim and I saw Big Hero 6 over the weekend and we loved it so I decided I needed those. But I also really liked the Mickey’s Christmas Carol ones so I got some from that set too. I was very excited to get the black one from Big Hero 6 because it is the chaser and much harder to find than the other ones.

Alright, let’s close out this post and move on to the next day in my trip.

On Wednesday, 12/3 I will definitely be sleeping in. I don’t expect to get home from the Christmas Party till well after 1 am. I’ve got several really long days coming up after this one so I need to get caught up on some sleep. This day is technically my “day off” from the parks but I may still end up at one for a few hours. Once I get up and moving, I will be heading to DTD for some serious shopping.

The Marketplace boat launch is now accessed from right by the bus stops so I will probably head there and take the boat over to the West side and make my way backwards. On the West Side, I definitely want to visit D Street for Vinylmations and I may do the Characters In Flight balloon depending on what time I get there.

As of right now I have an ADR for T-Rex at 1 pm but I’m pretty sure I’m going to cancel it. I do want to eat there sometime but I’m just not feeling it this time and I don’t really want to be tied to an ADR time in case I sleep longer than I think I will. If I cancel it I’ll probably check out the Food Trucks (if open, sign just said “Fall 2014” when we were there in October) or eat at Wolfgang Puck Express.

After I shop my way through DTD, I will head back to the room to drop of packages and then I may or may not head to HS. It will all depend on what time I get done at DTD.

I have a FP+ made for the above beauty and also one for TSM.

My final FP+ is another throw away for Little Mermaid that I don’t intend to use at all.

My main reason for heading to HS this night was to catch the 2nd showing of Fantasmic at 8:00 pm.

That all changed though when I got an e-mail from a friend and we made a dinner date. I may still try to make the 6:30 Fantasmic but with my TSM FP+ from 6 pm – 7 pm that is going to be almost impossible. And if I go to HS, you know I’m going to use that TSM FP+! So I just may forget about going to HS all together. I have another night later in the week when I can catch Fantasmic so I’m not too worried about getting there.

Instead of seeing Fantasmic at 8 pm, I will be heading to the Contempory for a late dinner with my friend Ruthie (Luvchefmic). You can probably guess by her DIS name where we are eating this night. Not only does Ruthie love Chef Mickey’s, she is also as big of a Pluto fan as I am. We’ve met up several times in the past at WDW. Here we are in October 2013.

Our ADR is pretty late at 9:15 pm but considering I was just able to snag it about a week ago, at least we got one! I’ve only eaten at Chef Mickey’s one time and that was for breakfast back in 2010. I’m really looking forward to the meal!

Oh, and as for my shirt for the day, I’ve had this custom for a while but haven’t eaten at Chef Mickey’s in order to have an opportunity to wear it.
