This Time It's All About the Dog. A December Solo PTR - TR Link Posted 1/6!!

Sounds like so much fun! I'm glad I'm not the only one who picks out specific outfits for each park day. My DH thinks I'm insane. :rotfl:

I was completely surprised by the Christmas decorations some people had in their windows the first time I was in WDW in December! A few at POFQ had full size Christmas trees standing in their rooms. Last year we brought a small table top tree--it got very flat in my suitcase but fluffed up nicely--and lots of ornaments, window stickies, and of course our stockings that Santa left out while we were busy in MK on Christmas Eve. :yay: SOOO Magical! I'm glad you're decorating your windows, too :)

I didn't know about the new gorilla babies! I have got to make sure that I see those two when we return.

I am loving all of your plans! I do the same thing as you do....I plan out my days and then plan my outfits around them. I even make a list and take it with me.

I'm loving your plans so far. I had the steak at Tony's every time we've eaten there and it is really good. I always heard the spaghetti sauce was a bit watery. But I really like Tony's. I hope your chicken parm is good!

TSM is one of my all time favorites as well. We usually do the dash, get in line and we used to grab a FP before jumping in line, but now we just get in line and have our pre-chosen FP for later.

It's funny to think we've been at Disney at the same time twice now and never met. Of course we didn't know each other in 2012! Also, as I see your long sleeve shirts all laid out with your short sleeved ones, it reminds me of 2010 when we were there the first week of December and nearly froze with temps breaking records 2 days in a row at 32 degrees!!! They were using these HUGE heaters to blow onto the poinsettias at the entrance to MK. It was crazy!

Don't you just LOVE the Christmas decorations??? I'm so fascinated with the gingerbread house and the carousel made of chocolate at Cape May, and all the trees and special things. Have you ever done the Candlelight Processional? It is amazing. We've done it twice and wouldn't think of being there at Christmas time and NOT do it. Then there's the Osborne lights, the Christmas party….now I WANT TO GO!!!! HaHa You are going to have so much fun!!!

I found Disney Christmas window clings at Walgreens when we went in 2012. I decorated our window and it was just so fun to come "home" to that as well as to see the creative windows of other Disney nuts like us!

I'm loving all the photos! I'll try to keep up a little better, but I know you understand when I can't. Have a great day!

Hi! Following along. Sounds like an excellent trip! I'll be there next week, also a solo trip - I'm so pumped!

Where or where did you find that Enchanted Tiki Room shirt? I love it!!!

I've eaten twice at the GF Cafe, it's really good. The first time, I went with a big group, and everyone was happy with their dinners and drinks. The second time, I went by myself and enjoyed the lobster burger and chips.

I'll be taking the layers as well, since the first 2 days I'm there will be in the low 80s, then the next 2 days may be rainy and only in the low 60s as a high!

The " secret " http://www.chefscatalog.com/product...12&srccode=cii_10043468&cpncode=21-15960375-2

All the recipes I had ever found for the waffles say that WDW uses this brand , this is the cheapest I've found it and thought I'd share the info...and may I add YUM !! :thumbsup2 Honestly if you use Bisquik or something else you will be disappointed So the BIG question is where are the Pluto waffles ? We need to start a petition :rotfl2:

Loving the shirts, and YES pack the long sleeves, the hat, too cute, and gloves. Yesterday I was in jeans and a sweatshirt all day first time this year.

Very much looking forward to seeing you again my friend

All your plans sounds wonderful!!! especially the shopping one.. ::yes::

Why don't you use a FP for Fantasmic? instead of throwing one away?!?!

Love the outfits for each day (I love doing that before a trip).

And love your plans for shopping and giving yourself plenty of time to do it.

Love all your t-shirts and accessories!

I'm envious that you're DisMeeting with Ruthie....again. Have fun and have an extra Mickey waffle for me.

Love, love, love the Mickey waffle maker. Wish they would sell them here.

Sounds like so much fun! I'm glad I'm not the only one who picks out specific outfits for each park day. My DH thinks I'm insane. :rotfl:

You've got to know what you are going to wear! I even try to match the shirts to the parks. For example, I picked the maroon Pluto one for AK because it seemed "jungley" to me. :rotfl:

Not sure I'd have room for a tree but that sounds like a nice idea! I think I'll stop though with the window decorations or Jim might disown me. ::yes::

I didn't know about the new gorilla babies! I have got to make sure that I see those two when we return.

I remembered reading that there was one but when we got there, the CM told us there were two! Both boys but she wouldn't tell us there names. Not sure why. :confused3

I am loving all of your plans! I do the same thing as you do....I plan out my days and then plan my outfits around them. I even make a list and take it with me.

Oh, my shirts are listed on my master spreadsheet so you aren't the only one that does that. Closer to my trip, I print out index sized cards for each day with all the info I need and even laminate them.

I'm loving your plans so far. I had the steak at Tony's every time we've eaten there and it is really good. I always heard the spaghetti sauce was a bit watery. But I really like Tony's. I hope your chicken parm is good!

I do hope I like Tony's. As you've probably figured out, I don't have a very sophisticated palette so Tony's might be right up my ally.

TSM is one of my all time favorites as well. We usually do the dash, get in line and we used to grab a FP before jumping in line, but now we just get in line and have our pre-chosen FP for later.

I don't know why I'm so obsessed with that ride but I am determined to get over 200,000 someday. I've been studying some web sites that tell you how to score higher. :rotfl:

It's funny to think we've been at Disney at the same time twice now and never met. Of course we didn't know each other in 2012! Also, as I see your long sleeve shirts all laid out with your short sleeved ones, it reminds me of 2010 when we were there the first week of December and nearly froze with temps breaking records 2 days in a row at 32 degrees!!! They were using these HUGE heaters to blow onto the poinsettias at the entrance to MK. It was crazy!

Someday we will be there at the same time and get to meet. Maybe the big trip in 2016? I definitely plan to bring layers. I had a similar trip as your 2010 one when I went in March 2013. It wasn't quite as cold, highs were in the low 40s which made it a bit uncomfortable. On the plus side though, the parks were empty!

Mom and I made it to all of the Deluxe resorts in 2012 except for the Yacht Club. Might have to take some time to go there this trip. Stay tuned for the next update where I will be talking about the Candlelight Processional.

I found Disney Christmas window clings at Walgreens when we went in 2012. I decorated our window and it was just so fun to come "home" to that as well as to see the creative windows of other Disney nuts like us!

Walgreens was one of the places I checked, didn't find anything there of course but they didn't seem to have all of their Christmas stuff out yet (how dare they not have it all out at the beginning of November :rotfl2:). I also checked Walmart, Target, Dollar Tree, CVS and Garden Ridge.

I'm loving all the photos! I'll try to keep up a little better, but I know you understand when I can't. Have a great day!

I totally understand if you can't get here all the time! I have the same problem. ::yes::

Hi! Following along. Sounds like an excellent trip! I'll be there next week, also a solo trip - I'm so pumped!

Have a wonderful time on your solo trip!

Where or where did you find that Enchanted Tiki Room shirt? I love it!!!

I got it off the Disney Store online over the summer. They only had it available for about a week.

I've eaten twice at the GF Cafe, it's really good. The first time, I went with a big group, and everyone was happy with their dinners and drinks. The second time, I went by myself and enjoyed the lobster burger and chips.

Hmmmm, a lobster burger sounds interesting. I'm a very picky eater but I might actually like that.

I'll be taking the layers as well, since the first 2 days I'm there will be in the low 80s, then the next 2 days may be rainy and only in the low 60s as a high!

Better than the weather we are getting here in Atlanta. It's only supposed to get into the low 40s today.

Thanks, I ordered some yesterday! I hope I can make myself wait till it gets here but I really want to try it out this weekend!

Loving the shirts, and YES pack the long sleeves, the hat, too cute, and gloves. Yesterday I was in jeans and a sweatshirt all day first time this year.

It's so cold here in Atlanta right now! High in the low 40s today. Jim bought me the hat for my birthday in August. I'm pretty sure he got it off of Ebay. The gloves also came from Ebay but unfortunately they are a tiny bit big on me. They are a men's M/L but I haven't been able to find them in a smaller size.

Very much looking forward to seeing you again my friend

I can't wait!

All your plans sounds wonderful!!! especially the shopping one.. ::yes::

I think half of the reason I like to go to Disney so much is for the shopping! :rotfl:

Why don't you use a FP for Fantasmic? instead of throwing one away?!?!

I wish I could but Fantasmic is Tier 1 so I would have to give up the TSM FP+ to get one for Fantasmic. And we know that's not happening! :lmao: I did use a FP+ for Fantasmic last year before they added the tiers and I was very disappointed in the seats. They put the FP+ people all the way to the far left when you enter the stadium.

Love the outfits for each day (I love doing that before a trip).

I couldn't wait for my MIL to leave so I could start laying out my outfits. I use the guest bedroom to do it so I had to wait till she was gone.

And love your plans for shopping and giving yourself plenty of time to do it.

I always seem to hurry through DTD so I wanted to take some extra time this trip.

Love all your t-shirts and accessories!

Thanks!

I'm envious that you're DisMeeting with Ruthie....again. Have fun and have an extra Mickey waffle for me.

Sorry, wish you could be there too! I'm not sure if they have Mickey Waffles at dinner? But I'm sure I will get some sometime that week.

Love, love, love the Mickey waffle maker. Wish they would sell them here.

That's too bad you can't get one.

Thursday will be one of the few days that I will be spending entirely in one park. And which park would that be? Why the only one I haven’t been to yet, Epcot.

My shirt for the day is this one.

I plan on being there for rope drop and heading straight to Test Track since I haven’t ridden it for over a year.

Depending on how long TT takes I’ll probably head back to the front next and get in line for Pluto. Today will be my only opportunity to catch him at Epcot so I need to make that meet a priority. I do have a FP+ for Spaceship Earth from 9 am – 10 am but if I miss it, I can always catch that ride on the way out. There’s never a line for it in the evening.

My second FP+ is from 10 am – 11 am and is for an old favorite I haven’t visited in over a year.

No one in my family likes or gets Figment so I haven’t had a chance to ride it since October 2013. I know I probably don’t need the FP+ but once again, there isn’t a lot to choose from in Tier 2 for Epcot.

Depending on what time I use my Figment FP+, I may head to either the Land or the Seas building next. My final FP+ for the day is Soarin’ of course from 11:15 – 12:15.

I definitely want to ride Nemo.

And see Turtle Talk.

Living with the Land is also a must do for me but if the line is too long during the morning I might save it for the evening or maybe even a different night.

Mom and I didn’t make it to the Candlelight Processional in 2012 so I wanted to make sure to catch it this time. I decided to do a Dining Package and after much deliberation, ended up choosing Coral Reef as my lunch destination. I debated a very long time between Coral Reef and Rose and Crown (Scotch Egg appetizer) but the Baileys and Jack Daniel Mousse at Coral Reef won out in the end. I have a 1:30 pm ADR which means I will be heading to the Candlelight Processional at 5:00 pm.

I’m pretty sure I will be done in Future World after lunch so I will head into World Showcase pretty quickly. I plan on starting on the Mexico side where I will stop and visit Donald.

And maybe get one of these if it’s not too cold. I really don't enjoy frozen drinks if they make me shiver.

I plan on wandering through the countries during the afternoon with no clear destination in mind.

Maybe I’ll stop in Italy for my favorite wine.

I definitely want to catch these guys in action.

Whatever I decide to do, I plan to end up around America at about 4 pm so I can get in line for the 5 pm show. I don’t know for sure if I need to be there that early since the narrator is not super famous. It’s Jonathan Groff on this night, the voice of Kristoff in Frozen. Has anyone had experience with a lesser known narrator? Am I trying to line up way too early? Or not early enough?

After the show, I plan on continuing my trek around World Showcase.

I might just stop in France for one of these, once again contingent on the weather.

Dinner this night will be at the Yorkshire Country Fish Shop.

I’ve been craving the Fish and Chips since Mom and I had them in 2012.

I haven’t decided if I will stay for Illuminations. I’m really not a fan of the show but I do sort of want to see the Christmas ending. If they still did the priority viewing that used to come with the Candlelight Dining Package I would have for sure. Since they eliminated that perk this year I’m not sure what I will do. It will probably be a spur of the moment decision for me. I may just head out early as my last two days are going to be lots of craziness!

WHAT ??? No plans to see chain saws in Canada :rotfl:..no worries you will probably hear them along your route.

Waffles: I had meant originally to say that is the brand of flour used at WDW BUT I have found the mix and encourage you to hold off until you get it, it really does make a difference. Will bring you right to WDW :goodvibes in your GA house ! and NO sorry not on the Chef Mickey's dinner options

CP: My guess is you will be timing it right for when to line up. Now if they start advertising in a big way that he has anything to do with Frozen then my opinion can change as just mentioning that word seems to bring out all kinds of craziness. :scared:

Pluto Hat: Ok I don't care if it is 80 degrees when we see each other the first picture together this trip HAS to be with the hats ... you KNOW I have that cute hat too :rotfl2:

Love your Epcot plans. I've never had that dessert at Coral Reef because I always go for the Chocolate Wave. I can't help on the CP. We had Oprah and all I know is we should have lined up an hour before we did...the line was insanely long.

Oooh...I hope it is warm enough for you to have a Slush.

The Voices of Liberty are great any time, but love when they do the Christmas songs.

Great plans for Epcot.
I love the fish and chips at Yorkshire F&C. It's so good! Enjoy.
So glad you got seats to see the CP. It's on my to-do list. Maybe next time.

That could be the only explanation because wait until you hear this: You know how we hunt down Pluto pins and sometimes year after year there aren't any new ones ?

Well 2014 it IS all about the dog:

In addition to the 4 or 5 new ones we both already got this year. Here is a list of MORE pins, break out your wallet:

AKL, CB, & All Stars all have a resort specific Pluto pin

a Thanksgiving Pluto pin
a MVMCP Pluto pin
and last but not least an AP DHS Pluto pin

Are you kidding me SIX additional Pluto pins ???? Want to skip DTD and do some resort gift shop hopping; Pluto hunting ?? I don't want to shoot your solo plans so just let me know. ( I do BEG you to get me the AP one at DHS though, pretty sure you can buy 2 with an AP, I forget )

I forgot to mention last time I commented that Dan and I love Grand Floridian Cafe. We've eaten there our last 3 or 4 trips. Very good food and excellent service. A little quieter than many of the table service places. I think you'll really enjoy it.

Now, on to your Epcot plans…they all sound really well thought out and should be a lot of fun! I love the figment ride! He's just so cute.

I am so glad you are going to experience the CP!! You will love it! And I think an hour before is just about right. This being a bit early in the season, it may not be as crowded. But I do agree with Ruthie that if people get wind of a frozen character voice, it could change in a heartbeat! Still, people would have to find out early enough to get ressies for preferred seating, so I still think you'll be okay. I think he will be a wonderful voice to narrate. Be sure to watch the guy who is signing…he puts so much feeling into it!

We don't usually stay for Illuminations any more. Every few years is often enough for us. I do hope the weather is pleasant for you and that you get to enjoy those tasty frozen adult beverages!! Love your plans, keep em coming!

ETA: I see Ruthie is enabling you with the Pluto pins…sounds like you'll have to save up a lot of extra money!! HaHa Also, we always like to catch the acrobats in China. The shows change up and they are all pretty amazing.

I love all your shirts and pre-trip purchases! I think decorating your window is a great idea! :)

Your dinner with Ruthie at CM's sounds like it will be fun!!

Sounds like a great Epcot day!!

There is a LOT of YUMMY Drinking going on.. Kinda wish i was going with you!!!

Then again we do have something to look forward to! :thumbsup2

LOVE epcot and everything you have planned!!!!

WHAT ??? No plans to see chain saws in Canada :rotfl:..no worries you will probably hear them along your route.

Um, no. Seen enough of that at our state fair.

Impatiently waiting for the stuff to be delivered! It is scheduled to be here on Friday so you can probably guess what I'm having for dinner that night.

CP: My guess is you will be timing it right for when to line up. Now if they start advertising in a big way that he has anything to do with Frozen then my opinion can change as just mentioning that word seems to bring out all kinds of craziness. :scared:

I do wonder about that. Sadly, even though I've seen the movie multiple times, I didn't know who he was. Had to look it up. But considering that Neil Patrick Harris and Whoopi are also there that week, I'm hoping my night won't be too crowded.

Pluto Hat: Ok I don't care if it is 80 degrees when we see each other the first picture together this trip HAS to be with the hats ... you KNOW I have that cute hat too :rotfl2:

OK, I'll definitely bring it. And no, I'm not surprised you have it too.

Love your Epcot plans. I've never had that dessert at Coral Reef because I always go for the Chocolate Wave. I can't help on the CP. We had Oprah and all I know is we should have lined up an hour before we did...the line was insanely long.

I thought about the Chocolate Wave but I like that Mousse so much I'm not sure I could get anything else.

Oooh...I hope it is warm enough for you to have a Slush.

Me too. Considering how this winter is going so far, I may not be very lucky.

The Voices of Liberty are great any time, but love when they do the Christmas songs.

I haven't seen them do Christmas songs yet so that is why they are on my must do list this time!

Great plans for Epcot.
I love the fish and chips at Yorkshire F&C. It's so good! Enjoy.
So glad you got seats to see the CP. It's on my to-do list. Maybe next time.

I love those Fish and Chips but haven't had a chance to eat them since 2012 so they are a must this trip. I hope you get to see the CP someday!

That could be the only explanation because wait until you hear this: You know how we hunt down Pluto pins and sometimes year after year there aren't any new ones ?

Well 2014 it IS all about the dog:

I think I answered all of this in my e-mail to you yesterday. Let me know if I missed anything!

I forgot to mention last time I commented that Dan and I love Grand Floridian Cafe. We've eaten there our last 3 or 4 trips. Very good food and excellent service. A little quieter than many of the table service places. I think you'll really enjoy it.

I am really looking forward to that meal! I'd ask for recommendations but I'm so picky, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't like your choices. :rotfl: I'm probably going to end up getting a burger after looking at the menu.

Now, on to your Epcot plans…they all sound really well thought out and should be a lot of fun! I love the figment ride! He's just so cute.

Epcot is really one of the more relaxed parks for me. I usually don't plan out every second. I'm actually worried that I might have some time to waste before lunch. I guess there's always the Ellen ride if I need to do that.

I am so glad you are going to experience the CP!! You will love it! And I think an hour before is just about right. This being a bit early in the season, it may not be as crowded. But I do agree with Ruthie that if people get wind of a frozen character voice, it could change in a heartbeat! Be sure to watch the guy who is signing…he puts so much feeling into it!

I'm hoping with Neil Patrick Harris at the beginning of the week and Whoopi at the end, the one I'm going to won't be so crowded. But with it being Frozen related, who knows?

We don't usually stay for Illuminations any more. Every few years is often enough for us. I do hope the weather is pleasant for you and that you get to enjoy those tasty frozen adult beverages!! Love your plans, keep em coming!

I haven't stayed to watch for a long time. I don't know why but I just cannot get myself to like Illuminations. I just don't think it's "Disney" enough for me.

ETA: I see Ruthie is enabling you with the Pluto pins…sounds like you'll have to save up a lot of extra money!! HaHa Also, we always like to catch the acrobats in China. The shows change up and they are all pretty amazing.

Ruthie always enables me! I have seen the acrobats in China.

I love all your shirts and pre-trip purchases! I think decorating your window is a great idea! :)

Thanks! I can't wait to see the finished product when I decorate my window. I hope it turns out as well as I envision it in my head. :rotfl2:

Your dinner with Ruthie at CM's sounds like it will be fun!!

I can't wait. With both of us being such big Pluto fans, it should be a great time.

Sounds like a great Epcot day!!

I hope it turns out nice! As long as it doesn't rain, I'll be happy. For some reason, I can handle rain at the other parks but stuff is so spread out at Epcot it makes it much worse.

There is a LOT of YUMMY Drinking going on.. Kinda wish i was going with you!!!

Well, I'm not sure I will get all of those drinks! I'm a lightweight when it comes to drinking because it sometimes aggravates my stomach. If I drink all three of those, I might have to be carried out of Epcot. :rotfl: I'll just have to pace myself very well.

Then again we do have something to look forward to! :thumbsup2

That is very true! Like I said, I'm not a heavy drinker but I could always be the designated person that makes sure everyone gets back to their rooms safely.

LOVE epcot and everything you have planned!!!!

Thanks!

Friday, December 5 is going to be super crazy for me because I’m going to try to do the four parks challenge! First though, my shirt of the day is this Christmas custom.

My day is going to start out at MK.

Since this is likely going to be my only rope drop at MK I have two priorities that must take place. Firstly I must see the Welcome show and then I must get in line for Pluto so I can finish my quest to meet him in all four parks.

Not sure what I will do after those two items are finished but I will probably catch a ride or two just to say I rode something. I’m thinking that Pirates might be a good option or maybe the Jungle Cruise as most people tend to head to Fantasyland or Tomorrowland first thing in the morning.

Around 10:30 I will be heading to Be Our Guest where I have a 10:40 FP for lunch. I’m pretty sure I will be having the same meal I did in May. The turkey sandwich and a chocolate cup cake for dessert.

After I eat, I will head out to the buses and hop to my second park of the day, AK.

I plan on hitting up the single rider line at EE.

Visiting my Tumble Monkeys again.

And possibly taking another Safari depending on the wait time.

Then it will be time to move on to HS.

I have three FP+ made for the afternoon at HS. My first one is probably a throw away again. It’s for Indiana Jones from 3:30 – 3:50. I really wish there was something else I could use it for but all the options I want are in Tier 1.

The first FP+ that I intend to use is 5:30 – 6:30 for of course TSM.

I plan on using it right at 5:30 then heading to the Fantasmic theater (if I didn’t catch it on the previous night) for the 6:30 show.

My last FP+ is for TOT from 6:40 – 7:40 pm so I will be heading there as soon as Fantasmic is over. Then I will head out to catch the boat to Epcot for some evening EMH.

I haven’t decided what I want to do for dinner on this night. I’m sure I’ll get hungry early and maybe get a snack at AK or when I first get to HS. I’ve been thinking about something on the Boardwalk or maybe Sunshine Seasons once I get to Epcot.

Epcot is open till 11:30 pm for EMH so I will either hit some more countries or maybe see how the single rider line is for Test Track.

I need to check and see what all is open for EMH because I’m pretty sure quite a few of the rides close. But if they are open and I missed them the day before, Living With the Land and Spaceship Earth are options. I would love to ride Soarin’ again but I’m not sure I want to stand in that crazy standby line.

I doubt I will stay all the way till 11:30 pm but who knows? I’ll be pretty tired by the time I get to Epcot that’s for sure. And of course, the next day is my last so I have morning EMHs scheduled!
