This "soft opening" of which you speak

So it dawned on me tonight that we are going to be at Epcot on May 2nd. Yikes. Crowd Calendar, you did not warn me about possible ride opening. So 1) Norway opens early and I have plenty of time to try for a Frozen Ever After FP (minimally likely), 2) Norway opens 4/30 and I'm trying to make FP adjustments on our travel day (eh, not likely), 3) Norway opens 5/1 and I'm trying to adjust FPs while at MK (in theory not likely, but because it would cause me the most stress, 99% chance ), 4) the opening is delayed and we may have a shot at attending during a 'soft opening' (maybe, just maybe)

So help me with the details (if there are any). I get that a soft opening would allow people to ride before official opening. But how does this work? Are ride times announced? Do you just have to wander by? Did they do this with 7DMT? Help me plan for all eventualities (it's an issue - I need to have a plan in mind for all possible outcomes to feel settled).

I suspect this one might launch like 7DMT where it kicked off with a closed press event. If they do a soft launch, basically it opens without warning and you can just get on. They may not let giant lines form and they might turn some away. Generally a soft opening is to give some practice to the staff before the flood gates are opened.
