During the slower months, I work about 55 hours per week. But during April-May, then October to early January, I work about 70-80, with six to seven day work weeks. Those are the big months that people want to volunteer.
And no overtime for me. I just get comp time but I've maxed out what I can take already for the year. Not a big deal. This is what I signed up for. I like my job a lot so working the extra hours or on weekends almost always means working on projects with groups that paint or refurbish our shelters, or make a truck load of sandwiches, put together gift bags for clients, sort donated clothes. So it's actually all a lot of fun and never boring.
The boring part is sitting at the office in admin putting these projects together.
